Chapter 6 His Last Name Is Mayson

On their way home, the little boy had already fallen asleep, leaning against Caroline's shoulder. When she looked at his small innocent face, her heart softened a lot.

When Caroline woke up the next day, she washed up and went downstairs, only to find there was already a variety of breakfast on the table.

She froze in place. Then the little boy stood up and took her to the dining table.

"Did you buy all this?"

The little boy nodded. Then he took out a pen and paper and wrote quickly, "Thank you for taking care of me. Let's have breakfast."

Caroline was stunned for a moment. No wonder the boy didn't talk to her last night. It turned out he was mute. And she was surprised to see his good handwriting. Although he couldn't speak, she could tell he was very smart.

"You're awesome. But it's dangerous to go out alone, so don't do it again, okay? By the way, can you tell me your name?"

The little wrote on the paper again.

He wrote, "Vincent Mayson."

Caroline was surprised to know that his last name was Mayson.

She knew from news that Damian and Ximena had children five years ago.

Were they related to this little boy? Or it might just be a coincidence that this little boy's last name was Mayson. While she was lost in thought, the doorbell rang. Caroline wondered who her visitor could be early in the morning. But she stood up to open the door.

A man and a woman stood outside. And the moment she looked at their familiar faces, her eyes turned cold.

She didn't expect to see Damian and Ximena outside her door.

Ximena was even more surprised. Never did she expect to see Caroline as soon as the door opened. What was Caroline doing in Adephia? Didn't Caroline die at the hospital that day? And when she saw Vincent sitting at the table, the expression on her face immediately changed.

She snapped, "Caroline, how dare you take my child away!"

Then she rushed into the apartment and walked towards Vincent.

Damian looked at Caroline and frowned slightly. "Why is Vincent here?"

Caroline didn't expect that Vincent was really Damian and Ximena's son. Before she could say anything, Ximena returned to them, holding Vincent's hand, and said, "What's your intention? You deliberately hit me with your car eight years ago. And now you took my son away. Why are you pestering my life over and over again?"

As soon as she said this, Vincent shook off her hand and stood in front of Caroline. Then he looked at Ximena with dissatisfaction.

"Vincent! You..."

Ximena was about to explode in anger.

Caroline's face darkened. She looked at Ximena and said coldly, "I didn't know he was your child. You left him alone outside in the middle of the night. I was afraid he would be in danger, so I took him with me."

"I don't believe you. You must have a bad intention."

"If I had a bad intention, why did I call the police? How did you know he was here? Because you went to the police station and got his address, right?"

Ximena was at a loss for words, not knowing how to retort. At this moment, Vincent wrote on the paper, "My mom scolded me, so I went out to look for my dad. But I couldn't find him, and I got lost. Fortunately, this beautiful woman took me with her."

Damian finally understood what had happened. He said to Caroline slowly, "Ximena misunderstood you. I'm sorry. Thank you for taking care of Vincent."

Then he turned to Ximena and Vincent and said, "Let's go." A hint of unwillingness flashed through Ximena's eyes, but she said nothing. The three of them left together.

Before leaving, Vincent looked at Caroline longingly. But she didn't respond.
