Chapter 10 She Is Really Annoying

"Caroline, Travis has a fiancée. After all these years, you still haven't changed?

You will really do anything to achieve your goal." Caroline's face darkened.

She smiled self-mockingly and said,

"You have no right to judge me. What kind of person I am and what I do have nothing to do with you."

After saying this, she turned around and left. Being left alone, Damian irritably lit the cigarette in his hand.

He couldn't help but think of Caroline five years ago. She used to be obedient. She always cooked for him, waited for him to return from work, and pleased him cautiously.

But she had changed now.

And she was right. They had divorced. He should not meddle in her affairs. Caroline thought she could face Damian calmly now. After all, it had been five years.

But when she turned around, her eyes couldn't help turning red. Was she such a bad person in his eyes?

When Travis and Caroline walked out of the restaurant, Travis noticed that something was wrong with Caroline. So he asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I'm fine," Caroline said, shaking her head.

"Okay. By the way, the banquet to announce your identity has been prepared. If you need anything, just let me know."

"I will. Thank you, Travis."

The Harper, Mayson, and the Vinson families were the wealthiest and most powerful families in Adephia. The people from the upper class knew that the Harper family had found their missing daughter five years ago. But they didn't know her identity yet. They just felt she was very mysterious.

A week later, the banquet was held as scheduled in a five-star hotel owned by the Harper Group. Guests came one after another, drinking and chatting happily. The entire banquet was arranged delicately and luxuriously, which showed how much the members of the Harper family loved and cherished their young lady.

Many famous ladies came to curry favor with the said young lady, including Ximena.

Actually, Ximena didn't get an invitation. But the Mayson Group was invited, so she begged Damian to come to the banquet with her. She needed to please the said young lady to secure the leading role of Tale of Talia.

At this moment, Caroline and Travis slowly walked into the banquet hall. Caroline was wearing a light blue strapless dress and delicate makeup. Her wavy hair casually hung loose over her shoulders. Her every movement was elegant, and she was beautiful.

Everyone knew Travis, but not the woman next to him. So they all wondered if she was the mysterious lady.

Ximena also saw Caroline. And looking at Caroline's beautiful face, she was extremely jealous. She didn't know why Caroline suddenly appeared at the banquet. What an annoying woman Caroline was!

Havig never thought that Caroline was the mysterious young lady, she believed that Caroline had hooked up with Travis.

So she intended to teach Caroline a lesson today.

Damian, standing beside Ximena, also looked at Caroline with a frown.

He was overwhelmed by mixed emotions.

Damian stared at Caroline's slim back.

And countless scenes from five years ago flashed through his mind. At that time, she was much thinner, and she rarely attended occasions like this.

He had brought her to a few banquets before. And every time, she would only stand beside him quietly with a resigned look.

Damian witnessed how Caroline was maliciously mocked before. But at that time, he still disliked her, so he never bothered to help her.

At the thought of this, he realized she had completely changed.

Could it be because of Travis?

"Damian... Damian..." Ximena had called his name several times before he came back to his senses.

He turned to look at her, but he was still in a trance. "What's wrong?"

After being together for many years, Ximena knew Damian very well. She could tell that he was distracted now, and she hated Caroline more for this.

At this moment, Travis saw a middle-aged man standing not far away, so he patted Caroline's hand and said, "Caroline, I'll go talk to Mr. Anderson first. Wait for me here."

There was still much time left before the banquet officially started, so Caroline nodded and said, "Go ahead. I'll wait for you here."

Then she stepped forward, found a chair in front of the table, and sat down. She picked up a snack on the table and was about to eat it. But before she could put it into her mouth, she heard a mocking voice behind her.

"Where are your manners? You even eat before the banquet starts!"
