Chapter 7 How much do you love your wife

The next morning, Dante got an official interview at a Tv show, he dressed up neatly for it and arrived early.

“Nice to have you Mr Dante” the host shaked his hand welcoming him.

Three, set” the director called out and the interview began.

“Ladies and gentlemen, as promised we have Mr Dante in our studio today.

Nice to you have you here once again” the interviewer said.

“Nice to be here too” Dante answered crossing his leg.

“How does it feel to be the one of most successful man in Athens, it must mean a lot for you to be able to keep this up” the lady said.

“Well it feels amazing but don’t forget that the load that comes with it is quite much, sometimes I just want to leave it all to my staff but what can I do, I am a CEO and I need to work” He answered politely.

“Yeah, I understand.

A lot of companies are aspiring to work with you on various projects, what do you have to say about that” she asked again.

“Well it took hard-work to get to where I am now, if they are that hardworking to the point that we can notice them then a partnership is certain.

After all hard work always pays off” he answered with a quote not sounding too proud about his status in Athens.

“Amazing, let’s just leave the business aspect.

There are a lot of questions about your love life, you just got married right?”

“Yes”

“So how does it feel to be with the woman you love, do you really think she is the one for you” she questioned based on the audience’s demand.

Everyone was quite eager to know if his wife was really worth him.

“I don’t know how to explain this but life without her would have been meaningless.

She made me see life differently and stopped me from making the wrong choices in life.

I wouldn’t be what I am today if not for her. Getting married to my wife was the best decision I have ever made in my life and I have never regretted that” he replied amicably making the audience feel emotional.

“I so much love it when couples are in love.

So how many percent will you say, you actually love your wife. Like on of 1- 10” she asked.

“Uhhhm, I would said a 1000/10, like I said she is my life and the only reason why I am still breathing.

If you are watching this Cassandra then know that i love you so much and I can’t live without you, you bring out the best in me that no one else has ever done” he commented.

Back at the Mount Villa, Selene had just stepped out of her room when she heard Dante’s voice, she was able to see and hear him confess his love to Cassandra and she felt hurt about it.

She ought to be the one he was talking about, she was the woman he loved, she was the one who had been there for him all these while.

“I love you too Dante” Cassandra’s voice said loud and clear, she turned back to find Selene standing there in a daze.

She gently walked up to her and smiled,

“My Dante is so loving and considerate that he could profess his love to me on the news. I really do bring out the best in him don’t you think Selene” she asked keeping her hands on her waist watching Selene break down bit by bit.

“Don’t tell me you are still in love with Dante after all that you did to him.

You should stop lusting after another woman’s Man, Dante can never be yours and you know that. He had already chosen me over you so you should concentrate on your husband or whatever you may call him” Cassandra spat at her and Selene just stood there trying to hold her tears back.

Cassandra’s words were hurtful to her that she wanted to rip her heart out of her chest and crush it if it would stop her from being in so much pain.

“Why aren’t you speaking, have you suddenly become dumb or are you aching over this” Cassandra said bragging about it.

She used the fact that Dante had confessed to her on Tv to taunt Selene.

Selene tried to walk out of there but she blocked her path.

“Where are you going to, you know I haven’t forgiven you for trying to steal my man away from me” She muttered.

“Your man” Selene asked again if she hadn’t heard her correctly, she should be the one accusing her of stealing her but she was so shameless to accuse her of a sin she committed herself.

“Yes my man, are you married to him?” She asked and Selene suddenly became quiet, Dante was lost to her forever and there was no point fighting it. She was married to Matteo and she could never get him back even if she wanted to because of Cassandra.

“Get out of my way” She warned.

“OMG, you still think Dante is yours.

Well wake up cousin, the earlier you know that he is mine, the better” Cassandra advised and walked away but not after shoulder-bumping her.

Selene almost lost her balance but she composed herself and wiped the drop of tear that fell from her eyes just after Cassandra left.

She was about to leave when she saw Lilian, their Grandmother sitting on a wheel chair watching her pitifully.

Selene didn’t know when she began crying uncontrollably,

“Come here child” Lilian called and she fell to her knees crying on her laps.

“It’s okay dear, there is always pain in love” she comforted her until she finally stopped crying her heart out.

“I’m fine Grandma” she stood up and retreated to her room.
