Chapter 6 I am not a slut

“Who the hell do you think you are” Matteo lashed out on Selene once the doors were closed behind them in the room.

“I did what I had to” she answered, she could vaguely remember that Shedrach had ordered her to retrain Matteo, now she understood what he meant.

“What did I tell you before, I told you to stay the fuck out of my business, did you think that because they made you my wife you can pry into my life” He yelled to her face and Selene was scared of him, she had never seen him act that way before.

“I didn’t…”

“When I talk to you, you kept quiet until I ask you to speak.

It is already bad enough that I got you as a wife and you now have the guts to pry into my life” he barked furiously as his breathing became heavy.

He hated that she tried to stand up for him, it made him feel weak before his family and that was the last thing he wanted them to see most especially his brother.

“Do you think I asked for this, my whole life has been ripped apart for a sin I didn’t even commit, I never asked to be married to you” she finally found the courage to yell at her muscular but furious husband.

“Do you think I asked to be married to you too, I could be with any woman I want and it just wouldn’t be you.

You are a thrash my brother couldn’t put up with and what did my family do, they tossed his thrash to me like they have always done”He barked at her.

Though Dante and Matteo were brothers, Dante was given the best things he could ever ask for while growing up but he got less, Matteo could feel the cold treatment he got from his parents were too much to the point that he investigated if he was their child or not, he found out he was truly their child but couldn’t understand why they acted differently with him.

When they were much older, Dante was given the family company to run while he was given a minor company that was almost falling to shreds, furious about it, he refused to work and abandoned his company making him one of the worst business men.

He turned towards Selene and grabbed her hand, “I had told you to stay away from my business. The next time you try that, I swear you will hate what I will do to you” he strictly warned her.

“I didn’t mean to…”

Before she could finish speaking he had punched the mirror into pieces.

“God so help me if I don’t shut that trap you call a mouth and bury you six feet below the ground you slut” he yelled and Selene felt offended by his words.

“I am not a slut” she challenged him.

“Oh yeah” he grabbed her hand again and drew her closer to him,

“A woman who cheats on her man is a slut, you are a slut you pig” he said firmly and slowly.

Selene clenched her fist in anger, she wished she could punch his face and tell him a thing or two but her quarrel wasn’t with Matteo, it was with Dante, a man who had broken her heart and her image. He made her look like a slut to everyone when she did nothing wrong.

Matteo was only mad because he got stuck with her when he could have gotten better.

She took a deep breath and calmed herself down, she watched him pace around the room and that was when she noticed that he was bleeding from punching the mirror so hard.

She picked up a first aid kit on top of the wardrobe and walked up to him.

“You are bleeding” she grabbed his hand but he retracted it immediately.

“Don’t you dare touch me” he warned strictly but she wouldn’t listen to him and grabbed his hand again.

He pinned her to the wall and suddenly punched the wall too,

“You are testing my patience Selene, don’t make me go too far” he phrased as she stared into his blue but ragefull eyes.

“I am sorry, I just wanted to treat your wound before you get an infection” she stated.

“Stop acting like you are my wife because you are not” he answered and entered into the bathroom.

Selene dropped to the floor in tears, is this the kind of life she was going to live from now on, she was married to a man who verbally abused her and wouldn’t want anything to do with her.

“Please wake me up” she pleaded wishing all that was happening wasn’t real. She wished she was back to her normal life where Dante actually loved her and she had her family with her.

After she had been disowned, not once did her father call to find out about how she was really doing.

He was dead serious about abandoning her and she clearly understood that she didn’t matter that much to him, his business was much better than actually having a daughter.

Minutes later, Matteo stepped out of the bathroom and climbed the bed, he didn’t bother to ask why she was on the floor, he couldn’t care less of she died or why she was actually crying.

He could hear her sobs but he was unfazed by it.

“Shut the fuck up, I want to sleep” he reprimanded her and she was Trotskyist quiet crying in silence.
