Chapter 7 Welcomes You To My Unique Hell (Contd..)

After tilting my head to the side, I reached out and touched the brick, and I had the impression that it was more than a couple of feet thick.

"Damn," I said under my breath, thinking there was no way I could leap or shatter that.

I became aware of Fry when my chin was moved to the right by a hand wearing leather gloves, and I made eye contact with him.

Oh my god, it's Fry! When I thought back to the entire vehicle accident situation, I made a mental eye roll and smacked myself on the forehead. Whoa! I rode a limo! When I realized that I had also been responsible for the limo accident, my grin grimaced. Crapppp! Since it had already taken place, I didn't bother to apologize "until later.

"Since we now have your attention, Evangeline, I would like to say one more thing before converting you into your allocated place," What do you mean, "before we put you into your assigned area"? I mean, what the "Having the responsibility of bringing you back has been a significant obstacle for me in my life. I am grateful that you are so difficult to get, "Fry said mockingly. Did he employ sarcasm?

"You're very welcome, Fry. Thank you. It has been a joy making your homework entertaining as a departure from the routine and monotony that you normally experience in your life." I grinned a brilliant smile as the army men laughed their butts off, and I swore I heard Fry mumble something about not giving me a lesson since we were too near to the spot. I smiled a dazzling smile while the army guys laughed their butts off.

"Enough!" He shouted, and this time even I could not ignore how loud and authoritative his voice was. "Let's move."

He seemed to be in better health than previously.

I was still being held captive by two men who had their hands on both of my forearms. When I glanced down at what I was wearing, I saw that I was wearing some black short shorts with a white and black v-neck that had a cross on it and had been ripped up. Nice to wear with a pair of white sandals or flip-flops. First, I thought it was cute, but then it dawned on me. Who the devil made me different?

I glanced at the back of Fry's head as he walked in front of me and tapped him on the shoulder as I said, "Hey, err, Fry." He turned around with an eyebrow lifted. Wow, I have no idea how you did it! "Who the heck would want to alter me, if you may ask?" I asked him nicely.

"Devin did," He indicated with his thumb to the man with a dark-skinned complexion who had turned to face me and grinned. Because I am so good at reading people, I figured out that he was homosexual. But that didn't bother me at all. At least it wasn't a pervert; at this point, I couldn't care less about such things. I gave him a kind grin as he turned around to continue his conversation with his companion. Aw! He was the only kind individual in this place.

I turned my back to face Fry, who had also turned around, and he said, "Hey, will you teach me how to do that eyebrow thing someday?" I inquired of him with anticipation.

As he responded, "If I ever have the pleasure of attempting to hunt you down, then I guess I may," I heard him laugh, which made me grin. "If I ever have the pleasure..."

As my smile became broader, I addressed Fry: "Well, then I think we'll see each other rather soon."

As we got closer to the enormous gate made of curved black metal that was approximately as high as the brick wall and had an N A emblazoned on it, he turned to face me. What exactly did N A stand for?

I believe Fry was speaking more to himself than to me when he said, "I hope not." Aww. Well, it was adorable. I might get used to Fry. He wasn't that terrible.

As the gate began opening to what seemed to be a large structure with several persons strolling about, I nearly leaped up like a startled cat. My pulse was pounding in my chest. My heartbeat accelerated as a tall blonde woman, about 35 years old, wearing a black skirt that reached my knees and a white long-sleeved puffy top, appeared to me smiling or, more accurately, grinning like an idiot.

She chuckled as she extended her hand to me and said, "Hello, Mary. I assume you are Evangeline."

I responded to her question directly by stating, "No, it's your mother." It was such a struggle, but I tried my best not to be rude to her and others like her, but I couldn't help myself.

Annoyingly, Mary continued to laugh. I could have sworn that I heard Fry laugh as well, but not in conjunction with Mary; instead, it was in addition to her. Oh my goodness, I had only known him for a day when I realized that I was already affecting him.

"Let's get going, shall we, gentlemen? You should know better than to grab a woman by the throat. It does not seem like she has anyplace else to go." Mary addressed the men who had a tight grasp on her forearms and stated.

I cast my gaze in that direction. "Ya, aren't you aware that you shouldn't hold a female in such a harsh manner?" I probed them with inquiries. They stopped holding on to me once Fry gave them the okay, which was fantastic but resulted in a barrier erected around me. There were two on each side of me. There are four people behind me, and Fry and Mary are in front of me.

I grimaced and crossed my arms as I exhaled, saying, "It's not like I can go anyplace."

While I was ignoring Mary, I could hear her chirping happily about something I was unsure of. I found myself staring blankly at the ground, which included a gravel road around three feet wide and, on the sides, what seemed to be the beginning of grass.

Where exactly did Ethan go?

But before I could begin to freak out, the voice of Mary stopped me and said, "Evangeline?"

"What," I said in a somewhat abrupt manner.

I made it a point to let everyone know if I had a problem with anyone I didn't like.

As she continued, Mary laughed and said, "Well, as I was saying, can your bodyguards go now?"

She was dealing with some significant problems. I make fun of her, and she laughs at me? WTF?

My face contorted into bewilderment as she pointed at Fry with her eyes. Oh! Hold on, what?

But why?" "B...but why?" I gave her the "puppy dog" expression as I glanced at her.

She looked at me with a pained expression on her face as she added, "Oh...um, they can't come to the rest of the way," as if she could alter the laws she could. I doubt it.

When I glanced over at Fry, I immediately went towards him and wrapped my arms around him while resting my head on his chest. I was afraid that he might go away without me!

I asked him in a hopeless tone, "Why must you go, Fry, and leave me here with the terrible witch of the west?" He remained mute as I finished my sentence.

When Fry finished, he patted me on the back and said, "Sorry, Eva. I have a family."

I drew back, blinking. How could he leave me with that strange person! "Um...so basically, thank you for following me for the last three years?" I did my best.

I saw a glimpse of a grin forming on his lips during what he was saying. "Positively, never want to put me through that again. Have fun while you're learning!"

He joined the other soldiers in turning around and running back toward the entrance gate. Then I realized what he had been saying.

"School?" Oh no! Please no!

"Oh, you're right! Were you not listening?" A small smile played over Mary's face as she pointed to the black cursive letters painted on the enormous tower that looked very much like a...

After clearing her throat, Mary greeted Evangeline with a warm smile and remarked, "Welcome to Night Academy."

I came dangerously close to losing my lower jaw.

Oh, forget what I just said. Never mind. This same scene, which was taking on in front of me, was my little hell.
