Chapter 8 Drinks Are On Me

Rex saw this scene as soon as he came out of their room. Looking at the woman's great figure, he couldn't help feeling a little attracted. But when he looked carefully, he was stunned. Was that Adeline?

Rex cursed under his breath. When he was about to go back to the VIP room to tell Brendan about what was going on, the music suddenly stopped. Then, Adeline's clear voice echoed in the bar.

"Good evening, everyone. My name is Adeline, and I'd been a stupid girl who'd been married to a stupid man for three whole years. I loved him so much, and I'd been nothing but good to him. But he never loved me. But that's not a big deal. He's just a man. There are many fish in the sea, am I right? Today, we got divorced. And so, my new life has just begun. I do hope to find someone better in the future, but in the meantime, I would like all of you to join me in celebration. Drink as much as you want tonight. It's all on me."

Standing not far away, Brendan looked at the woman in the red dress onstage. Her long, wavy hair and her bright, joyful eyes shone in the lights. Adeline looked like a charming siren, and for a moment, he didn't even recognize her.

She had just signed the divorce settlement, and now she was here to celebrate?

Brendan felt a bit frustrated.

When Adeline came down from the stage, many of the bar's male patrons rushed over to get her attention. Their excited shouts filled the air. "Since you're single now, why don't you consider me?"

"Hey, I'm completely into you!"

"Get out! Look at yourself. Do you really think you're good enough for her?" The men around couldn't wait to court Adeline, like peacocks desperate to lure in their mates.

The corners of Brendan's mouth twitched slightly. He looked at his soon-to-be ex-wife not far away. He was used to her obedience and gentleness. Seeing her like this was indeed a huge surprise for him.

The more irritating thing was...

"Okay, this is my phone number. You can keep it," Adeline said with a sweet smile on her pretty face.

The men around her quickly took down her phone number.

Gritting his teeth, Brendan strode forward, grabbed her wrist, and spat, "Adeline! We haven't divorced yet!"

Blinking, Adeline was surprised to see Brendan standing in front of her.

What was he doing here anyway? And was he angry?

She calmly withdrew her hand and replied, "Then please move our divorce along as soon as possible."

After saying that, she walked away without looking at him again. It was only then that Brendan saw that she was wearing high heels, and she looked so attractive with her graceful steps.

Taylor, Rex, and the others also stood aside. They thought Brendan and Adeline were only having a petty quarrel. They didn't expect that Adeline had gone ahead and served Brendan with divorce papers.

Rex doubted that he had heard it right. He opened his mouth and asked in confusion, "Did Adeline just say that she and Brendan were getting divorced? Was she serious?"

He turned his head to look at Brendan, only to find terrible gloom on his face.

The next day, Adeline was greeted by a terrible headache the moment her eyelids flew open.

She took her phone and saw many missed calls and text messages from her father. She checked the messages first.

As she expected, her father was urging her once again to ask Brendan for money.

After Adeline and Brendan got married, her father had been making all kinds of unreasonable requests to Brendan. That was one of the reasons why Brendan looked down upon her.

But now that Adeline and Brendan were getting divorced, the Dawson family would no longer receive money from Brendan. Sooner or later, Adeline would have to explain to her father so that he wouldn't ask her for money anymore.

Adeline woke Myah up, and they went to work together.

Adeline was an interior designer, and recently, she had landed a very profitable project with a businessman that owned a chain of love hotels. If it went well, she would get a considerable commission.

Her marriage had come to an end. She was determined to spend all her energy on her career and on becoming self-sufficient. She wanted to live a better life without Brendan.

In the afternoon, she received a message from Tiffany.
