Chapter 7 Inside The Bar

"She's not at home?" Hearing what Brendan said, Taylor widened his eyes in surprise. "Did you two have a fight? Adeline is good tempered, and she is obedient to you. How could you two have a fight? Did you bully her?"

Speaking of this, Taylor became even more worried. "Brendan, Adeline is your wife after all. You should be more generous to her. It's so late now, but you say she's not at home. Aren't you worried about her safety? Where would she go at this time? Do you know where she is? What if she's in danger?"

In danger?

Brendan's eyes darkened. Adeline packed her things and left the villa without looking back. It was still raining outside when she left. Brendan seldom asked her about her family, the Dawson family. He didn't even know about her friends or if she had any. The only thing he was sure of about Adeline was that she wasn't in good terms with her own family. Where would she go?

Wait a moment. Why should he care about her?

He only married Adeline to produce an heir for his family and in exchange for the Clemons family's support to the Dawson family. How could she really divorce him? Maybe this was all just Adeline's another little trick to get his attention.

Taylor's words irritated Rex. "Stop talking nonsense, Taylor. We're here tonight to enjoy ourselves and relax. Why do you always feel the need to bring up that woman? Stop spoiling our fun!"

With those words, Rex snapped his fingers to call over the waiter.

"Bring us a dozen bottles of Blanc de Noirs of Champagne Armand de Brignac!"

Blanc de Noirs was one of the world's best champagnes. Every year, three thousand bottles of it were produced at most, and each bottle cost a fortune. Rex's order was a big one, and the waiter was so happy to hear it.

"Wow, Rex. You are so generous today."

"It's not a big deal. As long as Brendan is happy, it's worth it."

Sitting on the sofa, Brendan remained expressionless. His statuesque face looked very handsome in the dim light.

He exuded an icy aura, making him appear unapproachable. He just sat there and drank from his goblet.

While Brendan sat there quietly, his friends held beautiful young women beside them and played games with them.

After a short while, the waiter returned with only five bottles of champagne.

"I'm sorry, sir. We had fifteen bottles in stock tonight, but ten bottles had just been purchased by the guests in the next room. They placed their order before you did. I'm really sorry."

Rex exclaimed, "Ten bottles? How could they order that much champagne? Who are these people? I'd like to meet them." Then, he stood up and walked out of the room.

The bar was actually spacious. As soon as Adeline walked in and settled down on a stool, she asked the bartender to bring her some drinks. "To freedom!" Myah made a toast in high spirits. They clinked glasses and laughed.

Adeline's figure looked gorgeous in the red dress that she wore, and her long hair that she let loose made her look even more attractive in the bar's dim light.

A band was performing onstage.

Adeline braced her elbow on the bar counter and rested her chin on the back of her hand. She listened to the band's songs while sipping her drink.

Many men stared at her with covetous eyes, itching to walk over to her and accost her. However, even though Adeline was a vision in red, something about her narrowed eyes and cold disposition made her look extremely aloof. So the men around her could only gawk and wish they were lucky enough to have the lady in red's attention.

Adeline had been interested in music and musical instruments since she was a little girl. In fact, she played band when she was in college, but later for some reason, the band was dismissed.

It was such a pity.

Gradually, the alcohol in her body began to stir along with the music.

Adeline put down her goblet and joined the band onstage.

After discussing with the members of the band, she took a guitar and shook her hair out of her face. Listening to the band's prelude, she quickly followed the rhythm.

She played the guitar skillfully.

All of a sudden, the bar was filled with stirring music.

The originally boring atmosphere dissipated, and the mood became electric. Everyone looked at the woman in the red dress onstage, and their eyes glinted with amazement.
