Chapter 9 ESTEBAN'S INTENTION.

¶ LOUISA ¶

But what is surprising is that until now Pablo does not know that I work in his father's company. Besides, he doesn't know my first name. I would have liked to introduce myself to him but I preferred to be silent. Watching him talk humbly with the old woman, I immediately realized that he was a man different from the others. He had something special.

However, I wanted to speak to him but I did not know how to proceed. After thinking for a long time, I asked him if he was thirsty and that I would bring him some water.

« Don't disturb yourself, miss. I am not thirsty. » he replied, smiling.

« OK. I understood. »

After talking for a long time with the old woman, he finally left. But before leaving, he made sure that the old woman lacked nothing and that even if she went home, the nurses would go and take care of her in order to keep her in good health. It was really generous of him. As soon as he leaves, the old woman shakes my hand and she says:

« Of all the children of Carlos PASOLINI, this one is the most serious. »

« Apparently you know this family perfectly » I replied

« No, I don't know them well enough. But each time one of the PASOLINI companies goes on television for interviews, or each time their mother, who is a minister, goes out to meet business leaders , Pablo is always present at their side. I don't know him as a person but as a businessman, I think he is excellent. If the other children were also serious, they would appear alongside their father or mother. But as if by chance, it's always Pablo PASOLINI we see everywhere, I think he has huge responsibilities in managing the PASOLINI family's assets.» added the old woman.

These explanations surprised me. Immediately, I got to thinking.

« I understand now why he seems to be always busy.» I said

« Indeed my dear. Men like him rarely have time. If I tell you it's because I know that his older brother Esteban is very close to you and I know what that means. However, you are no longer a child. But you're a stranger in this town and I wouldn't want you to make mistakes. Concentrate only on your work and if one day you should become a Mrs. PASOLINI, I prefer that you are Pablo's wife and not Esteban's. » she added

« But where did you come up with this idea? I have no intention of becoming Esteban's wife. We are just friends and nothing more. » I affirmed

« I'm not saying otherwise my dear but be aware of what you are doing. Anyway, I'm hungry now. » she said laughing.

I also laughed out loud and walked out of her room to find what she's going to eat. I love this woman so much as if she were my mother.

¶ PABLO ¶

I am finally relieved to have visited this old woman. From now on, she is under my responsibility and I will take care of her. After leaving Umberto I Hospital, I went straight home. I was exhausted because my day was very intense. I was walking up the stairs to my room when my cell phone rang. It was my best friend Axel who contacted me again. Immediately, I remembered last night when he called me and I didn't pick up. This time, I didn't want to be ungrateful to him and so I picked up without hesitation.

« Hello Axel. ! How are you ? »

« I'm fine Pablo. And you? » he answered

« I'm exhausted bro. I come back from the office and I would like to rest. » I said

« Apparently you're still tired. If it's every day that you must be tired then I would advise you to quit. You manage too many things my brother and it is unacceptable. You are not the only son of the PASOLINI family and why it is you who must manage everything. I think that's too much. » replied my best friend Axel.

« I like what I do. I'm just going to review my schedule and schedule myself properly. By the way, when are you going back home? » I asked

« Didn't you see the country code I'm calling you with? I am already in Rome my brother. » replied Axel.

« Wow! But how is that possible? And why didn't you tell me? That's not normal bro.» I said.

« Sorry bro. I wanted to surprise you. » he replied, laughing.

« You know very well that I don't like surprises. And where are you now? » I asked

« I'm at home. » said Axel

« Okay bro. I'm coming right away » I replied

« Okay. I am waiting for you. » Added Axel.

I was supposed to rest but I decided to change my clothes and go out. Axel is my best friend. He's just like my brother and I was in a hurry to see him again. We have known each other since childhood and then we grew up together. We are true partners. He's the only person in this world who really knows me. Today he is a doctor and he works in France. He's a very ambitious person and we see things the same way. He's just vacationing in Rome.

¶ AXEL ¶

I'm Axel and I'm a cardiologist. I come from a very poor family and today I owe my success to my parents who sacrificed themselves enormously for me. I'm the same age as Pablo and I live in Paris. Every vacation, I always come back to the country to have a good time with my family and friends. I am single and I have no children. I would like to enjoy my youth.

Indeed, I arrived in Rome two days ago and Pablo knew nothing about it. I know he hates surprises but strangely I wanted to annoy him because I like to watch the face he makes when he's angry. I was playing the Playstation though when he arrived. I welcomed him well and we spent the evening chatting. I had really missed him.

¶ ESTEBAN ¶

I'm very happy tonight to see that I'm taking Louisa to dinner. It's downright the best night of my life and I hope I end up sleeping with her. Just thinking about her makes me very excited and I would really like to act.
