Chapter 8 LOUISA ADMITS MISJUDGING PABLO.

¶ ESTEBAN ¶

I was enjoying chatting with her when my little sister comes out of the hospital and she calls out to me. With a wave of my hand, I told Ericka to give me some time to finish my conversation with Louisa. I noticed that she was not happy but there was no way I could leave Louisa without at least taking her phone number.

« She's expecting you and I think she's in a hurry. » said Louisa immediately after seeing the gesture I made to my little sister.

« She is the youngest of the PASOLINI family. Her name is Ericka. » I replied smiling.

« I know your father has three children. I didn't know the other two but I had already seen your photo on an advertising poster. It is thanks to this poster that I recognized you easily. » she answered shyly

« Okay Louisa, I understand. And what are you doing in this area? Is this here you live? » I asked.

« No Mr. PASOLINI. I don't live here. I just got out of this hospital. In fact, I came to visit a friend who had an accident this morning.» she said

« An accident ? I hope she's nothing serious. » I asked quickly.

« I thank God she's nothing serious. Currently she is doing better. » replied Louisa.

After her remarks, I give her a wink.

« Besides, it's because of her that I'm out now. I would like to take a taxi that will take me to a supermarket. I want to buy her some cake. » she added suddenly.

« I'm glad to hear that your friend is doing well. Me on the other hand, I came to get my little sister and I think I'm going to leave. » I said

« Okay sir » replied Louisa briefly.

« I was delighted to chat with you Louisa. And before I forget, this is my business card. You can call me anytime. » I said

« Thank you Mr. PASOLINI. » she replied as she picked up my business card.

I was very happy to see that Louisa accepted my business card. In addition, she was very wise and she spoke to me politely. I even had the impression that she like me too. Then I went to my sister who was waiting for me. Apparently Ericka was angry. She frowns and says :

« You leave me here and you dredge a girl. What is this way of disrespecting me? »

« I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. I couldn't resist the beauty of this young lady. She is really cute. » I replied laughing.

« You will never change bro. Do you think it's a good thing to flirt with all women? Yet you promised mom to become a better person. » Added Ericka

« Don't tell me that please. So far, I haven't done anything wrong yet. » I answered

« You are not a serious guy and I repeat that you will never change. I am your sister and I know you very well. However, that's not my problem. Take me home. That's all I want. » said Ericka coldly

I wanted to convince her that she was wrong about me but I realized that it was not necessary. Without saying anything more, we got into my car and I dropped her off at home. As for me, I went back to work thinking of Louisa. I purposely did not take her phone number because I wanted her to call me first. It's my way of seducing women.

¶ LOUISA ¶

Since Pablo left Umberto I Hospital, he hasn't come back to see the old woman he knocked down. I didn't know he was so carefree. His brother Esteban with whom I discussed the last time is wise as him. It's true that I don't know them very well but already I find that Esteban is nice and that Pablo is selfish. I feel like Pablo acts like he's superior to others. He thinks only of his interests. The old woman he knocked down was soon to be released from the hospital and I was by her side the whole time. Each time I asked permission from Mr. Carlos PASOLINI to come to Umberto I.

However, the owner of the apartment I rented had a small fever for the past two days and he is home. I am the only one to take care of him and his wife because they have no children. My work colleague Jessica helped me a few times. So, I was sitting in a chair in the old woman's hospital room when my phone rang. It's ESTEBAN who calls me and I answer without hesitation.

« Hello mister Esteban ! How are you ?»

« Louisa hello ! I'm fine and you ?» said Esteban.

« I'm fine sir and thank you » I answered

« Instead of calling me sir, I prefer that you call me by my first name. » he said

« OK I understand.» I answered

«Are you free tonight? » Esteban suddenly asked.

« Yes I am free but why are you asking me this question? » I asked

« Actually I would like to invite you to dinner.The truth is that I would like to know you more. » He added

Following his request, I remained silent for a while and then replied that it was okay to go out to dinner with him. He was very happy and I could see it on his face.

« See you tonight Louisa. I'll pick you up at home. » he said

«Thank you very much for the consideration you have towards me. » I answered

After our phone conversation, I hung up.

Indeed, I quickly became familiar with Estaban in less than two days. It's the first time he's called me because he didn't have my phone number. It was me who contacted him the night of the day we met at the Umberto I hospital. I had called him simply to say hello. Apart from my friend Jessica, the owner of the apartment I rented and his wife, Esteban is the fourth person I got to know. He even knows where I live. Usually, the rich are arrogant and insufferable but I find that Esteban is a good person despite the fortune he has. By being around him every day, I think I can learn a lot about their father Carlos and how well I could work in their companies.

« It's always good to be friends with boss' son. » I whispered smiling

I'm not the kind of woman to seek favors from anyone, but I know I could learn a lot from Esteban. Suddenly, someone knocks at the door.

« Who could it be?» I whispered again.

At Umberto I, each room has a door and you always knock before entering. Instead of getting up to open the door, I raised my voice asking whoever was knocking to come in. The individual, opens the door and he enters. As soon as our eyes met, my heart stopped beating within seconds. I was silent and stared at him tenderly. His coming really surprised me. It was Pablo.

« Hello miss. » he said with a serious appearance.

I didn't know what to answer and I didn't know why I was powerless against him. My heart was beating very fast. Immediately, the old woman who was lying opens her eyes and she answers him for me.

« Hello Pablo PASOLINI. How are you? »

When I heard her voice, my spirits return to me and I turn my gaze to her.

« Did you finally wake up? I hope you slept well.» I asked.

« Yes my darling I feel better. Get up from the chair and let Mr. PASOLINI sit down. » added the old woman.

« Oh no. Don't bother for me. She can sit still. I am good like this. » Pablo answered quickly.

His answer surprised me. I knew he was going to accept that I stand up for him because I considered him a selfish man. Then he approached the old woman and apologized to her.

« It's been almost two or three days that I did not come to see you. Nevertheless, I called from time to time the doctor who takes care of you to take your news. I wish I had been here since the day before yesterday but I have enough important things to do. Today I had free time and I took advantage of it. » Added Pablo.

« You don't need to explain anything to me Mr PASOLINI. The accident happened and instead of leaving me to my fate, you took me here and apparently I learned yesterday that you are also the one who pays the hospitalization costs. A nurse also let me know that you insisted that the best doctors treat me. I am very grateful Pablo. » said the old woman.

« It's the least I can do and don't thank me. The most important thing is that you feel better. » answered Pablo

These two characters were talking to each other calmly and I watched them without reacting. I was dazzled by the way PABLO treated the old woman.

« For someone I really don't know, I think it's unfair of me to call him selfish. He expresses himself without complexity and he completely lowers himself in front of the old woman. Honestly I think I owe this gentleman an apology for thinking he's being selfish. I finally realize that I was wrong about him. » I whispered
