Chapter 5 Don't Touch My Things

The unique scent emanating from Elmer's body made Leone feel dizzy.

She didn't come to her senses until she met his teasing eyes.

It took almost all of her strength to break away from his grip and rush towards the bathroom.

As soon as she closed the door, she managed to restrain her excitement. She covered her face and mouth to stop herself from screaming.

She looked up and saw her reflection in the mirror.

Her hair was disheveled; her eyes were glassy; her fair cheeks turned scarlet; and her red lips were alluring.

Did she look like this just now?

Embarrassed and irritated, she decided to take a shower.

Once she was done, she finally calmed down. However, as she stepped out of the shower, she just realized that she didn't bring her pajamas into the bathroom.

The only thing she could use to cover her body was the bath towel!

How could she get out with it on?

She swallowed hard. She had no choice but to carefully open the door, making sure it didn't make a sound.

She peeked through the crack and saw Elmer on his iPad, his eyes glued to the screen. He seemed to be dealing with something at work.

His face was serious, and his eyes were deep. There was something charming with his overall demeanor.

As she peeked, Leona bit her bottom lip. She started feeling embarrassed. With a low voice, she begged, "Elmer, can you bring me my clothes?"

Elmer had already noticed earlier that she didn't take any clothes with her. He glanced at the door and only saw half of her face peeking behind the door. Despite that, he still managed to see that her face was flushed and her eyes were averted away from him.

"Okay."

He smirked and randomly picked up a shirt in the wardrobe.

Although he hadn't been back for a long time, there were still some clothes left in his wardrobe. They were enough for him to wear whenever he stayed overnight.

When she saw Elmer stand up and head towards the wardrobe, she extended her arm through the crack of the door and held her breath.

As soon as she took the shirt, she closed the door.

She immediately put it on, and only realized then that it was a little short.

The shirt was of Elmer's size. It was so wide that when she put it on, she could feel a breeze enter her body. Even though all the buttons had already been fastened, the shirt still barely covered the top part of her legs.

When she raised both her hands, the hem of the shirt went upward, revealing the lower part of her body.

All she could do now was pull down the hem of the shirt and walk out of the bathroom in an awkward way.

Elmer heard muted footsteps coming out of the bathroom. When he looked up, his eyes gleamed.

Leona had just taken a shower. Her skin looked dewy and delicate, and her straight legs were quite pleasing to the eye.

Her cheeks were slightly red, and there was something about her lips that made him want to grab and kiss her.

At the moment, Elmer was infatuated with her. He felt his throat tighten.

When Leona saw the look in his eyes, her heart skipped a beat.

The lust in the man's eyes was obvious. However, they were still in the old mansion of the Hayes family, where their grandfather and other elders were living. It wouldn't be good if they happened to overhear the noises they'd be making.

Leona trotted to the bed and gave Elmer his clothes.

"Go take a shower. I've already cleaned the bathroom," she said.

Elmer stared at her for a while, after which, he chuckled and then went to the bathroom.

Even though he didn't say anything, the way he chuckled made Leona feel embarrassed.

Once he was in the bathroom, Leona sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for him.

Although they had already slept together in the past, there was something nervous and exciting about the fact that they would be doing it inside Elmer's childhood bedroom.

After a while, Elmer's phone on the table suddenly rang.

Because of the sound of running water in the bathroom, Elmer didn't hear it.

Leona was not in the habit of touching his phone. It rang and then stopped ringing. A few seconds later, the phone rang again.

It repeated like that several times. After a moment's hesitation, Leona went to the table to get his phone. She was worried that it might be someone who had something important to discuss with Elmer.

When the phone's screen lit up again, a name flashed into view.

The call was coming from Aurora.

As soon as she read this, her hand stopped mid-air.

At the same time, the bathroom's door swung open.

With his wet body wrapped in a bathrobe, Elmer frowned and went to the table.

When he looked down and read clearly the caller's name, his face suddenly turned cold.

"Leona." His voice was so cold that it sent a shiver down her spine. "From now on, don't touch my things."

Then, he walked to the window and answered the phone, without ever looking back at Leona.

"Don't be afraid, Aurora. I'll call the doctor and ask to check on you now," she overheard him say.

His voice was surprisingly gentle, different from the voice he used to talk to Leona just now.

In the dim light, Leona silently retreated to a corner, where the darkness hid her sadness.

From the looks of it, it seemed that indeed, in Elmer's heart, she wasn't as good as Aurora.

It didn't matter how intimate she and Elmer were just now. At the end of the day, all Aurora had to do was to make a phone call, and Elmer would stop everything just to attend to her.
