CHAPTER THREE: NINE MONTHS
Time flies ...
"Honey, it's nine months already. Am jealous." Hayes said.
"Jealous? Over what?" Sadie asked.
"Some man who will suck your breasts." Hayes said.
"Heavens!" Sadie laughed. "Are you jealous of your own son?"
"Mmh... am just being frank ok? He's actually do it. Why don't we just buy milk for him?" Hayes asked.
"No, I say no to that. He should get his nutritious milk." Sadie said.
"Huh!" Hayes frowned a little. "Ok, since you say so." Then, he left for work.
Same evening, Sadie was rushed to hospital on labor pains. Hayes was so stressed as he paced up and down. every time he heard his wife's cry, he really would try to push the door open but would be held back.
An hour later, which to Hayes was an eternity, the doctors opened the door with a slight sigh and a smile.
"Congratulations sir. You have a healthy and strong baby boy."
Hayes rushed in to see his wife lying exhausted and next to her was a wide-eyed baby boy with shiny black hair and tiny pink arms throwing about.
"Thank you honey for bringing forth my son to the world."
From birth, Kevian grew up strong and healthy. At two months he was already pulling things heavier for his age to himself. Sadie watched his son grow up with the softest mother love ever.
...
Gavin left Helion (Country name) to Port Prime (Country name) for a business trip. So far, he hoped that one day he would be able to relocate his family to Port Prime. Two weeks now, Talia was badly missing her husband, and it was too bad she was going to deliver in the absence of her husband.
When Gavin heard that his wife was in hospital, he flew back to Helion immediately.
He arrived in time for the doctors to open the door and congratulate him for a bouncing baby girl.
Baby Cher Lucille was welcomed to the world with a princess crown, what her father had bought for her on his trip to and from Port Prime.
In her exhaustion, Talia was given the queen crown. Gavin knelt down and held his daughter in his arms. She was sleeping with no care in the world as if she was still in her mother's womb.
"Am sorry you had to go through the last weeks of your pregnancy alone." Gavin said.
"Am sorry for you because you had no one in Port Prime." Talia laughed.
"And, Cher has surprisingly long hair at such a young age!" Gavin rolled his daughter's hair softly in his fingers.
"Very outstanding right? And you have to at least wake up and see the world. You're not in the womb any longer." Talia said to her daughter and as if she was hearing, Cher Lucille opened her black eyes.
Six months later...
"Cher! Lucille! Where are you?" Talia called her daughter who was by then crawling round, standing with arms stretched for balance and struggling to make her first step.
There was besides a basin full of warm water. Her hair was dripping and of no doubt Talia knew she had been in that basin.
"Baby!" Talia held out her arms for her. Cher Lucille who had been standing finally made her first step but before Talia could clap, her daughter stepped on the wet floor and fell but first. Instead of feeling sorry, she laughed because Cher fell with outstretched arms.
Seeing her mother laughed, Cher started crying.
"Honey! I need to report to work!" Gavin called from the bedroom.
"Coming." Picking up her daughter, Talia replied but Gavin came first.
"What happened to her? Why is she crying?" Gavin asked. Cher held out her hands to her dad who picked her from her mother's hands. Her wet hair dripped on her dad's suit. It was Talia's turn to laugh again.
"If I talk, you'll say Talia doesn't me with my daughter. Are you now going to work?" Talia asked.
"I think ladies win." Gavin laughed. 'So, what are we doing?"
"Cher's shopping." Talia said.
"ok, let's get her ready first."
...
Three years later...
Sadie was with her son Kevian, helping with his design and drawing, what Kevian liked. He also liked reading storybooks and Sadie would skip going to work to be with him and help him with his hobbies.
"Daddy!" Kevian, who was very sensitive noticed his father first.
"Kevian!" Hayes knelt down and hugged his son before hugging his wife Sadie and asking her into the bedroom. Kevian was left doing his work.
"Honey, I haven't officially declared you to the world as my wife, yet right?" Hayes said.
"Mmh." Sadie said. "You want to do that?"
"yeah. I have the cards delivered already."
"How first!"
...
"Mommy, you have a parcel." Cher walked into the study room where her parents were.
"Parcel? From who baby?" Talia asked.
"I don't know. The guards gave it to me." Cher handed the parcel to her mother. After opening it, Talia looked at Gavin.
"You know him?" Talia asked.
"Huh! No. probably if he ever met me in any of the business meetings." Gavin said.
"Mommy, what is it?" Cher asked.
"Baby, are you ready to dance in someone's wedding? You know you're beautiful enough to do that right?' Gavin said.
"I'd love to." Rolling her hair in her arms, Cher accepted.
...
It was Cher Lucille and Kevian leading the way to the white carpet with a bouquet of flowers. Cher was in a snow-white dress with Kevian in a navy-blue suit.
When Kevian held out his hand to Cher, at the far end Gavin fumed.
"I don't want everyone admiring my little girl!" he said. Talia laughed.
"They're children ok. Besides, this is a wedding. You don't except them to walk meters away. It's not a funeral. And, I see nothing wrong with the little boy. He's outstanding in appearance." Talia said.
"Don't spoil my little girl for me honey... she's still to young for that." Gavin said.
"I didn't spoil her. Am just stating what I think." Talia defended herself.
"You may now kiss the groom." The statement was said but what happened next left everyone dumb. While the bride and the groom kissed, Cher and Kevian copied and did exactly the same thing.
Gavin really wanted to rush forward and pick up his daughter for himself.
Talia was lost of words.
Everyone was taking pictures of this outstanding kids who were having their own wedding inside the main wedding.
"Cher!" Talia murmured to herself as she stared at her daughter unbelievingly.
15 YEARS LATER...
