CHAPTER NINE: IN HELION
All the copies of every details on Cher and Haley's journey, their current expenses and their place of residence in Helion were packed into his journey bag and moments later, Declan stood at the door of the palace.
"Dad, I have a business trip." He told the king.
"Business trip?" the king was surprised, so was Cruz who looked at Declan with half closed eyes.
"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Declan asked.
"what do you mean business trip?"
"Dad, I have no enough time to explain anything. It's an emergency meeting. Cruz, we're leaving right away." Declan walked out.
"Yes, my prince!" after looking at the king with funny eyes, Cruz left. It was the king's turn to question no one.
HELION
"My first time in Helion." Cher yawned as she stepped out of the helicopter. Haley pulled her case without saying anything. "Haley, how do you feel stepping on the Helion grounds?"
"Very fine." She said.
"I don' like your mood dear. Cheer up for me." Cher said.
"Madam..." A guard handed her a card. "The car you're supposed to use."
"Umm... thank you." Cher took the card and tucked it in her jacket. "Haley, sorry I'll be a bit quicker."
The entered the cars and left. When the car left the airport, another plane landed and a tall handsome pulled over his hood followed closely by another man. Confirming everything from the cards, he also boarded a car and left.
SOFT PARADISE HOTEL...
After narrating to Cher everything that happened, Haley felt better after Cher comforted. After a while of talking, Cher got into her preparation, scribbling down in her notebook while Haley decided to take a nap.
Two hours later, Cher stretched and confirmed her watch.
"Haley... time for the evening tea." Cher called. Haley stretched and sat up. "Change into something light. The wardrobe was prepared."
When they were stepping out, Cher remembered she had to call home. "I'll get you downstairs."
Knowing where their table was reserved, Haley slid her sandals in and walked out.
When she got out of the elevator, someone else was walking down the stairs and pulling his hood.
"sister... Cher... Viole was complaining yesterday." Rollis reported.
"I'll talk to her ok? How was school today little Roll?" Cher asked.
"Very fine. How is Helion?" Rollis asked.
"Helion is little not in peace but haven on its own." Cher said smiling.
"Will you take me there one day?" Rollis said.
"Yes... of course." Cher was stepping out of the elevator when she saw a figure somehow familiar to her. She hesitated before giving Rollis an over phone kiss and ending the call. But the figure had disappeared.
She quickly rushed into their private room and found everything was ready.
"Haley, I saw someone like Cruz." Cher said pulling her chair.
"The guard?" Haley asked. "What an evening dream?"
"But I saw him. Am not joking." Cher said.
"Don't push your imaginations too much. Let's eat." Haley said. Cher shrug and accepted.
MORNING...
The Hayes stayed at the palace in preparations to meet the advocate of peace. Morel wouldn't leave Kevian's side while Kevian couldn't stop watching the tape. She simply dozed off on his lap.
The same morning...
Cher woke up way earlier before time for her preparations. When the sun rays penetrated the ventilators of the room and shone on her face, she got ready to leave. Haley wasn't yet up but she woke her up before she left.
"Haley, you're free to do anything while here and to go anywhere you like. You're covered and no one is asking you for any payment. The guards are around here watching you and you're safe. So, bye and remember to eat in time. Please, don't skip any meals." Cher said.
"What about travelling? I may get bored and decide to drive around." Haley said.
"Umm... ask the guards to rent a car for you." Cher said, kissed her goodbye and left.
PALACE HALL
Haley and his family sat at one end as silent and peaceful as ever. Kevian wouldn't be there but since this whole thing was directed this his family, she was available. Sadie was in a golden royal dress, what her husband had personally got it for her.
As usual, Kevian and his dad were in suits, Morel was in a simple flower dress and Kevian had helped her with her hair as he always did when he personally wanted to help her with that.
When Jesse Brooke and his family walked in, he walked straight to where the Hayes family.
"This place was specifically designed for my family." He said without greetings.
All the while, Kevian was toying with the tape in his hand at the same time looking at his phone. He didn't look up all the while. It was even bad because Jesse Brooke had never met him in person. He saw him from far yesterday.
After a long while of awkward silence, Sadie looked up.
"We're sorry Mr. Brooke. We were ushered here." She said.
"Women are not invited to talk." Jesse said rudely. Kevian sharply looked up. Hayes stood up knowing how fierce his son was.
Kevian tucked the tape in his pocket and stood up. "Know how to address my mother." He rarely talked, but that didn't mean you can look down on his people.
"What can you do? You're in the palace remember?" Scarlet shouted.
"Kevian don't move!" Hayes gave the order. Kevian sat back silently.
"Excuse me Mr. Jesse. Your family isn't supposed to be here." A guard ran to them.
It's been half an hour since everyone was waiting when the arrival of the advocate of peace into the palace was announced.
The sick king was helped into the silent hall. He looked at the side where Hayes and his family sat sadly before settling down.
When Flora Esan walked in her royal gown, he went straight to where Hayes sat and knelt down. "My son."
"Mom!" Hayes helped his mother up. Kevian gave a slight gaze before looking at his phone while Morel rolled her hair in her hands. They were never introduced to their grandparents so no one was surprised by their behavior.
"Mother-in-law..." Sadie hugged Flora.
"Forgive us on everything that happened. What a beautiful family you have?" Flora said looking at Morel and Kevian. At least Morel gave a slight smile, Kevian didn't even look up.
"Time is up. After everything, we will have enough time to introduce everyone and reunite." Flora smiled as she went over to sit.
Hayes looked at Kevian and simply gave a hush. Who cares? Not Kevian.
And then, a figure, medium height, slender well shaped legs, a sunny smile and a waterfall of hair walked. Everyone gasped. But Kevian wasn't looking up.
"I salute everyone here, good morning..." She said while walking on stage.
It was the voice that got Kevian's attention and he looked up.
She was in a light flare dress that barely reached her knees and golden heels. Her appearance alone was enough awaken interest. But when his eyes landed on her face, his heart skipped a bit... the tape.
