Chapter 5

"You should go with Elyse." it's soft to say that I'm sure he can hear me.

"You know that many boys are making some moves on her. Maybe they've started now because he's alone." I added

"She's not a kid anymore. He can handle himself. She can just reject every boy whenever she wants" he said.

I frowned and turned to him in annoyance. One of his eyebrows was raised because he was wondering why I was suddenly irritated.

"Why are-" I cut him off.

"So, you see me as a kid? You're thinking that I can't handle myself alone, can you accompany me!?"

He quickly stopped walking. I also stopped and faced him angrily. Somehow it hurt my pride. Knowing that I'm independent as a woman then suddenly I will know that he just sees me as a kid?!

"No. It's not like that-"

"So what? To tell you this, I'm not a kid anymore! I'm already a woman, who can handle herself really well!" I burst out because of irritation.

I stopped and was stunned to see that he had eaten up our distance. Why didn't I notice?

"Hey." He said in melody. It sent shivers down my spine. "It's not like that."

He closed his eyes tightly, as if he's struggling. He opened his eyes after a few seconds, and looked me in the eyes.

"You didn't notice all the boys around us? They're trying to make a move to you." he said deadly.

I sighed. "I noticed them earlier and I don't care about their presence." I said nonchalantly.

His jaw clenched tightly. His eyes became bloodshot.

"I don't like their presence that's why I decided to come with you until I will know that you're in the main building where they finally can't make a move to you." he said. "D'mn! It's making me angry!" he suddenly burst out. He moved away from me and cursed loudly.

My eyes widened in shock and stopped moving as I watched him calm himself down.

After a few minutes again he came to me again and immediately touched my cheek. Then he finally calmed down.

"Sorry for cursing, baby." he said in his sweetest tone.

W-what?!!

He came even closer to me. Then without hesitating, his lips landed on mine gently. I heard gasps anywhere. Maybe many people saw it.

For a minute, I was stunned. Until he broke the kiss and his eyes widened when he looked at me.

What the heck is happening?

"Damn!... Hey," he called using his sweet but husky voice tone.

"I'm sorry" he said. Nervousness was visible in his face.

My face burned in embarrassment. My eyes are widened and I'm so stunned.

The thought of him having some feelings on me made my heart jump in happiness.

He stepped forward and I immediately stepped back. His hand hung in the air with a plan to touch me.

I was about to say something but thankfully Karen showed up. He smiled at us.

"Oh? Are you together?" Karen said, waking up.

"Uh-yes" he said shyly. I glanced at Ellandro and seeing that he was still looking at me, I didn't think twice and pulled Karen's arm and dragged her into the main building.

It was good and Karen followed me so we reached the classroom quickly. Since there's no classes, we are free to gossip around the classroom. Karen and I are side by side.

In order not to be asked, I prefer to distract my friend by asking questions.

"Where's Jerson?" I asked, still slightly feeling the heat on my face.

"I saw earlier, go to the volleyball gymnasium." he answered. His eyes narrowed and he stared at me more closely, which immediately made me nervous.

"What-"

"Are they Arelle? Did you see?" link if question immediately. His eyes became more critical.

"Yes, I was able to go to the gate together. They are looking for Ellandro... And talking about Ellandro, What did you two talk about? And why are you blushing since earlier?"

I immediately held my breath. I thought I could escape that question! I'm not missing anything either.

"We didn't talk much but he did...something." I said. The nape of my neck immediately warmed as I remembered his kiss earlier.

"And what is it?" Little by little, a smile appeared on his lips.

I looked away. "He kissed me."

I caught a glimpse of his smile growing. So immediately if added to what was said.

"But I know he's just lost on his thoughts for a second so he did that! Don't put malice on that!"

"Don't be stupid, Fhioresca. We both know that Ellandro is smart so it's impossible for him to kiss her because he just lost his mind!" she said playfully.

After an hour, Jerson came who was curious about the incident so I was also tempted. Time passed, finally it's three pm. Even though I'm tired and lazy, I'm still thankful that the time has come for us to practice dancing again. Of course, because I can no longer bear the shame of being teased by my two friends.

While I was going to the oval ground, I met Ellandro. They stared at us and were stunned but only for a moment because Ellandro immediately turned his back.

I scratched the back of my neck. Isn't he going in the right direction? Why come back?

So, after our 2 hours dance practice, the teachers gave us a 3 minute break and after that they requested all of us to do the cleaning. I'm really tired after, especially since there's so much going on in my brain.

It was six twenty-five when I was tired and sat on the waiting shield near our school. I didn't contact Manong Gorgeo immediately because of tiredness. I feel like I'm going to die! I'm out of breath and sweating!

Then suddenly an unforgettable scene flashed through my mind.

I can still feel the way his lips landed on mine gently. It's majestic. It made my heart flutter in happiness.

I smiled and shook my head at the thought. I sighed and leaned back in my seat.

That kiss! Is what Karen said true? That he didn't kiss me because he lost his mind, but because he wanted to do it? Does that mean that he...likes me?

I'm not very numb but based on his actions I can say that he doesn't really like me, I noticed that. The way when he looked at me darkly? It only means he hates me! So it's impossible if they say he likes me when in fact he hates me so much!

Did many people see Ellandro kissing me? What if many of his fan girls saw that? How am I now? Maybe I'm even more angry!

What the fuck! I don't want that! All I want is peacefulness and because of what Ellandro did, peacefulness is further away from my life!

So, why did he kiss me? I mean I don't know if it's called a kiss because it only last 2 seconds... Well, Ellandro is a billionaire but he chooses to take a college course in this school, instead of going abroad. We know that only Filipinos are often able to give their own bodies and if compared to other countries, it can be said that there are more people looking for suitable ones. So basically Ellandro is just lust? He couldn't stand it so he kissed me and then he suddenly realized! That's it! Maybe so!

I'm aware that I'm pretty but not as pretty as Elyse or the other girls, so it's surprising to me that Ellandro couldn't control himself. I thought... What if something happened to Elyse and Ellandro? Since it was discussed before.

Argh! It hurts my heart!

Time to confess! I really have a crush on Ellandro! But it's only CRUSH alright! Nothing else. I just admire her for her beauty and intelligence. That's it... maybe.

I took a deep breath and lazily took my cellphone out of my pocket. I texted Manong Gorgeo.

Man? Pick it up please, thank you!

I immediately received his reply. Maybe he really waited for me to chat.

Mang'Gorgeo:

Sorry Ija. But your parents ordered me to pick them up. I'll just chat with the other driver after picking it up.

Don't do it, man. I don't want to disturb their rest. I'll just ride the tricycle, thank you.

I took a deep breath and put the cellphone back in the pocket of my PE uniform.

I heard footsteps on the side of the waiting shield so I immediately turned there.

My lips parted in shock when I saw Ellandro. He looked at me, probably shocked too. We stared at each other for a while and were only interrupted when he suddenly looked away.

I didn't look at him since he wasn't looking at me.

Could he have been there for a while? He must be surprised and there is also someone here and me!

Ellandro quickly turned his back on me and walked away without looking at the passers-by.

Why leave? I thought he would wait here too?

"Even if it's just that I'll ride behind you, I'll triple the fee," I almost begged the seventh driver who stopped in front of me but didn't let me ride or even ride!

"Mom, just wait for another tricycle. It's too dangerous to climb!" said the old passenger.

"If you have a lot of money, just call a taxi." joined by another elderly passenger as well.

"We're leaving now. Just be careful." Reminder of the driver must have signaled to leave.

I sighed and sat down in the seat again. Hey, it's bad luck!

It's past eight but still I'm not home yet. It's dark around and only the light poles are the only light on the road. Almost only one student or maybe a teacher is seen when passing or exiting the school gate.

I wish I had called the other driver earlier. It's embarrassing for me to call just now because I might disturb their rest. I still know how tired they are from work because they pick me up from my parents who go everywhere because of work.

"Yeah... Okay, I don't have any schedule this weekend,"

I automatically turned to the school gate because I heard a familiar voice.

There, I saw Cyrene. He just got off his phone and is currently putting it in his expensive bag. I looked at his whole body and my eyes twinkled in amazement.

It's been a week since I last saw her. I really admire her, apart from her beauty, her clothes, no wonder she is a model for a famous company. She is white and has a strange eye and hair color, obviously half American.

Since last week I haven't heard much from him. It's surprising, because he is one of the admirers of many.

After a while, this black Van came to pick up. Before she got inside the car, she suddenly stopped and looked in my direction.

My eyes almost widened in embarrassment, especially when we stared at each other. She looks so intimidating but angelic type.

"Hey. Do you want to go with me? It's dangerous being there at this hour." she said.

I turned around and my eyes landed on him again. Few if any taught myself.

"Are you talking to me?" I asked the obvious.

She chuckled. "Silly, of course!"

I quickly shook my head. "Uh, don't. I already called our driver" I lied.

He nodded. "Okay. I gotta go!" after he said that, he immediately entered their car. It also left immediately.

After that, a black car also followed. It stopped opposite the waiting shield. Little by little, I got nervous as we looked at each other as they looked like bodyguards inside their car.

They really look intimidating. But I think it's normal because they are bodyguards, based on their top outfit. The window of the car is wide open so I can see them clearly.

"Miss, do you know the boy Ellandro Del Salve?" asked a bodyguard.

"Yes, why?"

"Did you see him waiting here earlier?"

"Yes, but he leaves immediately" I answered and pointed to the direction he had taken earlier.

"Okay, thank you very much, Miss." I just nodded at them and they immediately left.

I waited for a few hours before finally getting on board. After I got home, my father immediately scolded me because I didn't even call a driver.

I accept Panenermon because I too am fooled by myself. But how can it be, eh? I'm just in a good mood! I just don't want to disturb the drivers who are resting!
