Chapter 9 Liz gets an offer

"Hey babe, I am glad you are starting school soon. Well my official classes begin next week and I will show you all around once I am on campus. Are you doing fine my love?"

Aarush texted Liz and sat on his bed holding his phone whilst scrolling through their Instagram timeline. It was full of memories and a visible growth in their physical looks.

The relationship had survived three years and many more years were to be counted.

It was almost midnight and everyone in the mansion was perhaps asleep so Aarush sneaked around a bit to send Liz photos of the whole house and of himself doing crazy things.

"Wow, beautiful house. You must study hard and excel highly so you can get me a bigger mansion." Liz teased him, her room was without light that night as she hadn't paid the installation fees so a video call was impossible.

"Tomorrow dear."

"Ok" Aarush concurred and wished her a good night and walked back to his room which was upstairs with Mr. Aman's other sons.

Aman and Khurana had been friends for long but were not so close. Both men had businesses around the city and would regularly bump into one another and that connection stayed the same throughout the years.

So when Aman heard that Aarush was to join Livingston university that was just a few minutes drive away from his home, he offered to house Aarush and to train him in different businesses in hopes that both families would become closer.

"He should come to my shop tomorrow and start with the basics, his official classes are one week away." Aman suggested to Khurana who saw no problem with the idea at all.

"What will he be doing?" Khurana asked Aman, being skeptical, if Aarush would manage the Teller position in Aman's Micro Banks that were spread around the city.

"He has no experience at all." Khurana added observing Aman in the eye more, both men had their whiskey glasses half way topped with some rocks and the conversation got pretty intense between them.

Aman wanted a deeper connection but Khurana was afraid it was not going to be a good deal.

"Everyone gets experience from learning." Aman assured Khurana that whatever he was offering Aarush wasn't about some hidden marriage proposal but more of sealing their friendship.

"My daughters love their own lives and I don't interfere with that unless of course it's something to do with our beliefs as a family."

Khurana got a little comfort hearing that as he wasn't ready to force Aarush into any sort of arranged marriage.

The men finished their drinks, wished each other a good night and went to their respective rooms.

When morning came, Angie traveled with Douglas to her office and started editing all the policies that Max had attached to Liz and Baron as his benefactors.

Only Liam was left on every policy because the boy pleased Angie in every way.

He chose what she chose and dedicated himself to accomplishing the results in a marvelous manner.

"He will become a great person one day." Angie said of him all the time and Douglas wouldn't disagree either.

Liam performed well in school and attended the Catholic Mass with or without Angie and everyone testified of his true faith.

"God is with him except for your two other grandchildren." Many people would say to Angie and she would laugh it off with a sickening comment that some elders of the community found odd as they considered her a saint.

"This boy is enough." She would say to everyone and would return to her house feeling socially incredible.

Liz and Baron were Protestants and openly rejected the Catholic ideas that Angie tried to impose on them countless times especially during Lent and prayer time.

After Aman had left for work due to some morning schedules he had already prepared at hand, Khurana called Aarush aside after their breakfast to have a word with him about the offer that was at hand.

He would go to school while gaining hands -on experience with the finance sector which was critical to both families since they were major money lenders around the city.

The plan was to see Aarush graduate with a solid experience in finance that would place him at a higher job in Aman's companies once he was out of school.

"You will accompany uncle Aman to the shop till school begins and you will start helping him whenever you are off campus."

Wow !

Aarush was excited about the idea and he welcomed it, putting Liz first in his thoughts.

"I will be able to buy her literally anything I can afford."

His face beamed so much that he hugged his father and thanked him so much for the new opportunity.

Meanwhile, Liz spent the whole morning walking around the suburbs for any Job but nobody was giving any hopeful answer, so she decided to recharge her data plan and search online for any opportunity.

"God must help me."

After three days of endlessly searching and sending around CVs online to different companies, Liz got a reply from a mysterious man.

Now for the whole time Liz was still searching for a job, she maintained her facade of being busy in school to keep Aarush unaware of what was happening with her and Aarush believed Liz all the way.

Liz had also sternly warned Baron to be wise with words in case Aarush was to ask him anything concerning their whereabouts.

"Tell him that you changed schools because Max isn't around and I am on campus studying so much."

The mysterious man offered Liz a job as an indoor nanny for a touring family and it sounded amazing.

The Salary was low but worth it considering the perks that came with it, a free bed, food, water, medication and electricity.

That was far better than the tiny suffocating room she was staying in.

"Travel to the city on Monday and when you arrive at the plaza, call me to pick you up." He said in a text before going offline, the text came with a google pin attached and the office number just in case.

"I guess I will try my luck." Liz laid on her back and looked at the ceiling as if it was spinning, it was getting dark and she hadn't eaten anything since the previous day.

Ding ding ding

A message popped up on her phone and when she checked, it was a Jumia food voucher Aarush had just texted to her.

"Get anything you want, I love you so much."
