Chapter 4 A Marriage without Wedding Ceremony

Although he was asking a question, he said in a tone that could not be denied.

Stacy nodded. It seemed that he wanted to say something to her.

She also wanted to talk to him.

Ethan gave Stacy a warning look. "Behave yourself."

"Don't offend him before you get married." Judging from Harry's indifferent look, Ethan thought he must be dissatisfied with Stacy. But it's a good thing for the Morgan family to become relatives with the Louise family, and it's also helpful for the company's business.

He didn't want Stacy to screw it up.

Stacy pretended she did not see it and followed Jack out.

She knew exactly what Ethan was planning. What made him so confident that she would help him after she married into the Louise family?

Just because he was her father?

But did he regard her as his daughter? Did he know how she spent the past eight years?

Stacy was absent-minded that she hit a hard "wall", and then she came back to herself. When she suddenly looked up, she found that Harry was looking down at her very close with his perfect face.

Sure enough, he was able to stand up.

In other words, she was right.

Stacy felt awkward when he stared at her. She pretended to be calm and looked up at him. "You deliberately pretended to be lame, didn't you?"

Harry narrowed his eyes slightly. He was unhappy that someone had seen through him. He said in a plain tone which was serious enough to frighten her. "Why do you still want to marry me even if I'm crippled? What do you want from me? Money? Do you want to be a rich wife?"

Stacy only felt chill when he was looking at her. It seemed that her heart was held tightly by invisible hands. She felt it was hard to breathe, but she pretended to be calm and relaxed. "I was engaged to you when I was two years old. Did I already know about money and the benefits of being a wife of a rich and powerful family at that time? Did I force the two mothers to make the arrangement?"

She paused for a moment and seemed to relax herself. "When I was two years old, you were already ten years old, and you were eight years older than me. Did I dislike you for being old?"

"Hmph!" Harry sneered. This woman was not only good at talking, but also sharp-tongued!

She had a silver tongue!

"I'm old?"

The air was filled with the anger.

They looked at each other. No one wanted to give in.

Stacy's hand was clenched into a fist. The purpose of her marrying into the Louise family was just because Ethan promised that he would return her mother's dowry.

She didn't want to be the enemy of this man, so she softened her tone. "Mr. Louise, I know that you don't want to marry me, but in fact, you can..."

She deliberately stopped to see the expression on Harry's face. His facial expression changed slightly, but she still caught it.

"Mr. Louise, let's make a deal," Stacy said. She didn't want to marry into the Louise family. The reason that she would agree was only that she wanted to come back home to take back what belonged to her mother and her.

"Ha." Harry chuckled. He seemed to think it was ridiculous and absurd. She wanted to make a deal with him?

Stacy swallowed and her back was full of cold sweat because of nervousness. Harry was very tall. So she looked up at him and said, "I know you want the Morgan family to regret the marriage, so you pretended to be crippled. I agreed that because I have my difficulties."

This aroused Harry's interest.

"What do you want?" Since it was a deal, there must be a condition.

"One month. I'll divorce you after we get married for a month." One month was enough for her. As soon as she got her mother's dowry, she would divorce him.

Harry frowned. "Is this the deal you want to negotiate with me?"

"Yes, we must get married. This is an agreement between the two mothers. We can't break the promise, which is a respect for them. After we get married, we can say we are not compatible with each other, so it is natural to divorce. In this way, there we don't need to break of the promise and you don't have to spend the rest of your life with a person you don't like. There is no harm to you, but only benefits—"

Speaking of this, Stacy softened her tone, "I believe you love someone else, so you tried your best to make the Morgan family break the promise, right?"

Harry suddenly became a little angry. He said, "I didn't expect that you're quite smart."

Yes, he wanted to marry Rachel. He was touched by her tenderness and tolerance at that time.

Harry looked at Stacy, who pretended to be calm. "What about you? What's good for you if you get married for one month?"

Harry did not think that she only cared about him.

Stacy became nervous. She couldn't say that it was for her mother's dowry, could she?

But if she didn't give him a reason, he wound not believe her.

"My mother values this engagement very much. She was in poor health now, so I don't want her to be disappointed." When speaking of this, she looked away because she was lying. Her mother did not want her to marry into the Louise family at all.

Harry said in a strange and deterrent tone, as if he had seen through her mind. "Really?"

Stacy felt nervous and uneasy because his eyes were too sharp, as if he could see through her heart. Just when she had no idea what to do, his cell phone rang in his pocket.

Harry glanced at her and took out his mobile phone. When he saw the name on it, he became gentle. He turned around to answer the phone and seemed to think of something. He turned back and said, "Since it's the marriage only lasts a month, there's no need for us to hold a wedding."

Stacy had no choice but to agree. "Okay."

On the 12th of August, he came to pick up Stacy.

There was no ceremony, no wedding, only a marriage certificate.

Stacy didn't feel anything, because she was very clear that this was just a deal.

If it weren't for the fact that they were engaged, perhaps they wouldn't have known each other.

Soon the car stopped in front of a villa.

Under the sun, the vast stone building looked magnificent.

"Let's go in," said Jack with a gesture of "please".

He was neither enthusiastic nor fawning on her. He must have known that the marriage between her and Harry was for the agreement.

She was not the real Young Mistress of the Louise family.

Although the house was big, there were only a few people, a servant to be exact. Jack didn't say anything about her. He took her to the house and then left.

Stacy felt a little uncomfortable.

"This is the young master's residence. I'm Olena and I take care of his life. You can call me Olena too." Olena led her to the room. "If you need anything, just tell me."

A month was not very long. Stacy brought her own daily necessities. Although she might not bother her, she still said, "Okay."

Olena opened the door and turned to look at her. She wanted to say something to her, but finally sighed. "The young master may not come back tonight. Today is Miss White's birthday."

Although they didn't hold a wedding ceremony, she was still his wife. After all, it was the first day of their wedding, but he went outside to accompany another woman. Olena thought that Stacy was pitiful. She was treated so coldly by Harry the first day she arrived. Wouldn't it be even worse in the future?
