Chapter 4 Slandered

Hearing this, Sheila trembled all over and nearly dropped the glasses she had just picked up.

She took a deep breath, trying her best to calm down, and put the glasses back on. Then she raised her head and smiled stiffly at Gerald.

The man was wearing a well-tailored dark blue suit, outlining his tall figure perfectly. Although he was just standing casually, in Sheila's eyes, he looked like an emperor.

But only Sheila knew that underneath his handsome appearance was a fiercely lustful beast.

Gerald looked at her deeply and didn't say a word.

His gaze was so sharp that Sheila felt so nervous. Goosebumps formed on the areas of her body that Gerald had touched the night before. Unable to withstand his gaze any longer, Sheila was about to look away when a playful masculine voice sounded from behind Gerald.

"My dear brother, why are women always throwing themselves at you?"

Sheila looked in the direction of the voice and saw a boy who seemed about to be of age, standing behind Gerald. He was handsome, too, and seemed to have a sunny disposition. With a snicker playing at the corners of his lips, he looked at Sheila unscrupulously.

"I haven't settled accounts with you about your skipping school yet. How dare you tease me like that?" Gerald turned to give the boy a cold glance.

Herbert Lamont instantly fell silent and he pouted sulkily. Gerald narrowed his eyes at him before turning back to face the strange woman in front of him.

She was lowering her head slightly. She wore thick black glasses, a simple grey shirt, and plain-looking shorts, but her skin was surprisingly delicate. In that moment, the man found himself wondering how it would look like if he left all kinds of marks on it.

A feeling of familiarity rippled in Gerald's heart. He was sure he had never seen the woman before, but he inexplicably felt a little familiar with her.

Frowning slightly, Gerald wanted to take the girl's glasses off to see who she was.

As he approached, Sheila's slender shoulders began to tremble. Just as she made up her mind to run away, the door to the private room was kicked open violently.

"Sheila! What's the fuck is taking so long?" Winnie's high-heeled shoes clicked against the marble floor of the hotel corridor as she strutted over to Sheila. "I've been waiting for-"

When she saw clearly that the person standing next to Sheila was actually Gerald, she stopped in her tracks. All of a sudden, her voice became soft and sweet. "Gerald, when did you get here? Why didn't you go inside?"

Gerald didn't answer her. He withdrew his hand and his eyes darted between the two similar-looking girls.

Noticing Gerald's curious gaze, Winnie gritted her teeth.

Did Sheila tell Gerald that she was the woman who had slept with him last night?

Winnie glared at Sheila, seething with hatred.

This bitch was the bane of her existence.

Trying her best to suppress her anger, Winnie forced a smile and introduced Sheila to Gerald. "This is Sheila. My parents adopted her. We look alike, right?"

When she was met with silence, she coughed awkwardly and added, "We were pretty close, but when she finished high school, she envied my beauty and stole my parents' money to get plastic surgery."

As Winnie slandered her in front of the man, Sheila clenched her fists until her fingernails dug into her palms. Winnie's incredible lies were like a slap in the face.

For some reason, she didn't want Gerald to think ill of her.

Winnie continued to lie, "My poor sister's parents died at a young age, so she's been eyeing our money ever since we took her into our family. She even had plastic surgery-based on my face-to hook up with rich men..."

Hearing this, Herbert snorted loudly and cut her off. "I think your younger sister looks even prettier than you, Miss Newell. Slandering others won't hide your own ugliness.

I can tell that you're the one who has gone under the knife, am I right?"
