Chapter 8 Wicked Man

The last person Nina expected to see around her neighborhood was Bobby. She also didn't expect that he would drag her away.

After a few steps, she finally came back to senses. She shook off his arm in a hurry and grabbed the luggage he took from her. "Give that back to me!"

Bobby noticed that Nina was looking nervous and skittish. After she took her luggage from him, he asked, "What are you doing? I'm just helping you out."

Nina only stared at him and said, "I don't need your help. I don't want to go with you! And I told you, I'm not that kind of woman!"

This woman was too stubborn for her own good. Despite looking like she was on the verge of throwing up, she still managed to stand her ground. It endeared something inside Bobby. Softly, he said, "I know. I understand now why you chose to take the path you took last night. You're not that kind of woman. So, I decided I want to help you."

Nina shook her head at him incredulously. "Help? No, thanks. I already owe you a lot. I can't accept any more from you." And with that, she brushed past him with her luggage.

Bobby followed her slowly but surely. "Sometimes, stubbornness couldn't bring you benefits. Case in point: your situation right now."

Nina continued to ignore him. "It's better to be stubborn than to keep accepting debts you cannot pay off."

Bobby blinked his eyes at what she just said. Jogging to catch up to her, he pulled on the straps of her luggage. "Then I take it all back. Are you happy now?"

Nina turned and looked at him. She didn't know what to do with him. She bit her lips and said, "Mr. Teng, you're a rich man. I know one million dollars is nothing for you and I know I already sold my first time to you. But that didn't mean you could trample on my dignity and humiliate me with your money!"

She wanted to step closer to him and make him realize how angry she was. But his hold on her luggage was keeping her in place. Tension crackled between them until a thin strap of her luggage finally gave out. Her personal belongings spilled out of the bag and scattered all over the ground.

The spill stunned Nina for a moment. She squatted down to hurriedly take all the things her hands could take. At the same time, Bobby squatted down to help her. She reached out one hand and stopped him. "Mr. Teng, please just go. Our deal is over. Please just let me go."

Bobby frowned. "Your bag is broken. How can you put away your stuff now? I'll go get my car and you can put your things in my car. Even if you insisted on not accepting my help, the least I could do is not leave you here with your things all over the place."

"Don't worry about me. I'll find a way to sort my mess out," Nina said. She stood and took off her coat before spreading it on the ground. She then began to pick up all her stuff and deposit them on the coat.

Bobby blinked his eyes and turned around. He went out of the alley and got on his car. He knew a lost fight when he saw one. So instead, he switched on the engine and decided to wait for her to come out of the alley. It was taking her too long, though. When it was beginning to look suspect, he got off his car and walked back. He found her passed out on the ground. Her luggage still scattered on the ground.

Bobby rushed over and checked her body for any blood or injury. When he found none, he reached one hand to her cheek. "Nina…"

Her cheek felt too warm under his touch. He looked around and tried to collect all her stuff. He put her unconscious body and her things in his arms and went back to his car.

When Nina came to it, the first thing she registered was how parched she was. It felt like her entire body was burning and she needed water. She needed to put out the fire in her throat and wash away the taste of smoke in her mouth.

Soon, a gentle hand rubbed her back and blessedly cool water flowed into her mouth. She felt a cool cloth wipe at her neck that brought her instant relief. She wanted to know who it was but her eyes weighed down on her.

When she finally had the strength to open her eyes, she was blinded by soft light. She was lying beside a familiar beautiful and enchanting man. He reached one hand to touch her face.

'Bo… Bobby.'

His name hovered in her mind. She wanted to say his name but she didn't have the strength to speak it. Her eyelids were growing heavy again. Everything was starting to blur again. Her skin felt lighter. Someone was taking off her clothes.

'Bastard… He knows I don't have any strength to fight him off now, but he still takes advantage of me. Wicked man.'

Those were her last thoughts before she passed out. After Bobby took off her clothes, he sneezed twice. He poured alcohol on the cloth he used to wipe her body.

He had already filled the bathtub with water. It was just the perfect temperature to bring relief to Nina's burning hot body. Carefully, he lowered a naked Nina into the water.

She frowned unconsciously at the temperature of the water. She tried to open her eyes but nothing was in focus. She had to close them again.

Bobby continued his ministrations, taking care of her sick body. As he washed her, he couldn't help but sweat out.

Once he was done, he picked her up and dried her off with a plush bath towel. He placed her back on the bed so she could rest but to his surprise, her arms wrapped around his neck when he was about to pull away. "Hold me…"

Bobby's body stiffened at her request.

Her usual fair skin was pink from how warm she was. She looked soft and supple from her bath. From experience, he knew how wonderful it would be to sleep with her. His attraction to her was starting to mess with Bobby's mind.

But he knew better. With one hand, he unwrapped her hold on him and arranged her properly on the bed. He lay down beside her and watched her sleep. One of his hands found her eyes. How beautiful she really was.

Soon, the exhaustion of tending to a sick person got to him and lulled him to sleep. However, something jolted him awake. He covered her naked body with the quilt and immediately jumped into the cold shower. This was wrong.

When Nina opened her eyes, she found the familiar ceiling taunting her. So she was back in Bobby's bed. The gorgeous chandelier did nothing to comfort her.

She turned her head and found there was no trace of Bobby. Her blurry memories from last night reminded her bits and pieces of all the embarrassing things that happened between her and Bobby. She pulled the quilt over her head in shame and found herself naked.

"Bastard!" she hissed. Did she sleep with him last night? She hurriedly sat up and felt exhaustion wash over her body. Turning her head, she found a box and a card resting on the chair beside the bed.

She blinked. Wrapping herself with the quilt, she stood up and picked up the card.

"You had a terrible fever last night so I took you here. Here's a check. You can rent a house using it. Your clothes are in the box. Last night, I took off your clothes because you were burning with fever. I accidentally tore one when I was taking them off you. I'll be busy the entire day so I left first. I've booked this room for a very long time, so you can also choose to stay here."

Nina bit her lips. She thought of her dizziness last night. She remembered feeling a dull pain radiate through her body. Something tasted like smoke.

Her fingers found her lips as she stared at the last part of the letter. He tore one of her clothes last night. Did he take advantage of her?

With these thoughts in her mind, she opened the box. There was a light purple set of underwear and a beautiful chiffon dress in the same color. They were all beautiful. And true enough, there was a check worth one million dollars on top of the clothes.
