Chapter 4

The next morning, Brice said to her, "Jordyn, you've been feeling down lately. I've signed you up for a short getaway with a tour group. Why don't you take a little trip?"

Jordyn calculated the days; there were still five days until her new name would take effect.

She asked, "How many days?"

"Three days, " Brice replied. "It's just to a nearby city, not too far. I wouldn't feel comfortable with you going somewhere too distant alone."

Jordyn agreed, "Alright."

That afternoon, Brice's driver came to pick her up. "Ma'am, I'll take you to the airport."

Jordyn remained silent, letting the driver take her.

At the airport, the driver only left after he saw her pass through security.

Once he exited the waiting hall, he called Brice. "Mr. Brice, Ma'am has boarded the plane." Brice replied, "Alright.

Stay there and wait; Brad's parents' flight is landing soon. Pick them up and bring them home, be courteous."

"Understood."

After the driver left, Jordyn found an excuse to exit through the boarding gate.

She stood in a hidden spot and watched as Brad's parents emerged from the exit.

She also saw the driver eagerly step forward to help with their luggage, respectfully inviting them into the car and carefully loading their bags into the trunk.

She took a taxi and asked the driver to follow the other car.

After Jordyn left, Brice went to bring Brad back home.

When the driver returned with Brad's parents, Brad excitedly rushed to them, "Mom, Dad, I've finally got to see you!"

Brice respectfully opened the door for them and even poured tea for them, acting with the courtesy expected of family.

Brice apologized, "Mr. and Mrs., I'm sorry for the inconvenience of sending you abroad because of Jordyn's presence."

Brad's father chuckled, "It's alright. You arranged for us to tour around the world, and we had a great time."

"As long as you enjoyed it."

Brad's mother said, "Tang Tang is pregnant now, why are you still calling us Mr. and Mrs.?"

Brice quickly corrected himself, "Dad, Mom."

"That's more like it!"

The whole family laughed joyfully.

Throughout, Brad clung affectionately to Brice's arm, exuding a girlish charm.

She instructed the housekeeper, "Madam Wang, please prepare the guest room for my parents."

Madam Wang nodded, "Yes, Ma'am."

Jordyn watched all this quietly. She had long known about Brice's affair with Brad.

But it was Madam Wang's attitude that broke her heart.

It turned out that even the household staff knew about Brice and Brad's relationship, addressing her as "Ma'am" without hesitation.

She was very familiar with Brad's parents and wasn't surprised by their arrival at all!

Once, Jordyn had personally hired Madam Wang as the housekeeper.

Because Madam Wang had a disabled son, Jordyn had even increased her salary significantly.

She treated Madam Wang like family, inviting her to meals and taking her on trips.

Yet now, even Madam Wang had kept this from her...

Jordyn felt a sharp pain in her chest, as if a thousand needles were piercing her, making it hard to stand.

A wave of nausea surged up, and she began to breathe heavily, tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision.

Inadvertently, she brushed against the wind chime decoration at the door.

Ding-a-ling-

The wind chime rang out.

Brice reacted almost immediately, shouting, "Who's out there?!"
