She Lost Her Uterus

Chapter 1

For three months, Jordyn hadn't had her period, so she went to the hospital for an ultrasound with a bit of excitement.

The doctor examined the report for a while and exclaimed, "Miss Jordyn, there's no trace of a uterus in your scan!"

Jordyn's first reaction was denial, "How could I not have a uterus? My periods were always regular until they suddenly stopped these past three months."

The doctor checked her medical records on the computer and informed her, "Three months ago, you had a hysterectomy."

A hysterectomy?

Jordyn immediately shook her head, "No, three months ago, I had an appendectomy!"

"The surgery records clearly state it was a hysterectomy. The consent form even has your husband's signature."

Unwilling to give up, Jordyn begged the doctor to find the surgery consent form.

[Patient: Jordyn, Type of Surgery: Hysterectomy]

At the bottom, Ryan's signature was bold and flamboyant - unmistakably his handwriting.

Jordyn was still in a state of disbelief when the doctor discovered something else on the computer.

"Your husband's name is Ryan, right?"

"Yes."

"He was just here with another woman for her prenatal checkup. The pregnant woman's name is Brad. Do you know her?"

She did.

A year ago, after Brice's car accident, it was Brad who saved him.

Jordyn couldn't quite recall how she left the hospital.

Crossing the street, she almost got hit by a car, startling both herself and the driver.

Her mind was a chaotic mess.

She and Ryan had been together since middle school, from school uniforms to wedding attire, sharing fifteen years of seasons.

Everyone who knew them was aware of the profound love Ryan had for Jordyn.

Even a moment before the car accident, Ryan chose to push her out of the car, sacrificing himself as the car careened down the cliff.

Brad was the girl who saved him at the bottom of the cliff.

After the accident, Ryan lost his memory and was cared for by Brad for half a year.

Once he regained his memory, he returned to Jordyn, still deeply in love with her.

Upon seeing her, he eagerly embraced her, eyes red, saying, "Jordyn, I thought I'd never see you again."

Jordyn was grateful for Brad's care during that time, almost falling to her knees in gratitude.

She decided that Ryan should give Brad a generous sum of five million dollars and buy several apartments for her family in the city center of H City as gratitude.

She once asked Brice, "During your memory loss, were you with Brad?"

Brice gently held her and kissed her, "That was all during my amnesia. Now that my memory is back, there's only you in my heart."

Initially, she was skeptical.

Until the day Brice sent Brad's entire family overseas.

Furthermore, he visited a tattoo parlor to have "Jordyn's Exclusive" inked over his heart.

Despite his allergy to tattoo ink, he endured a high fever that night.

In a daze, he held her hand and whispered, "I'm okay. I just wanted to give you peace of mind. In case I ever forget again, this tattoo will remind me of my dear wife Jordyn, whom I love with all my heart."

Jordyn wept uncontrollably and believed him completely.

Whether it was a school reunion or a business gala, Brice always took her along.

His friends often teased him, "Brice, you're too clingy. Can't be away from your wife even for a moment, always carrying her around."

Brice seemed to revel in it, "You're just jealous that I married such a wonderful wife."

Three months ago, they began trying for a baby.

One night, she suddenly had a stomach ache, and Brice took her to the hospital, telling her it was acute appendicitis requiring surgery.

Jordyn didn't suspect anything, watching as Brice signed the surgery consent form before she was wheeled into the operating room.

But it turned out what was removed was her uterus, not her appendix.

By the time she returned home, it was already late.

As she pushed the door open, she overheard Brice on the phone.

"... Okay, I'll come over tonight to be with you and the baby.

Don't worry, Jordyn's uterus has been removed. She won't be able to get pregnant, so no one will threaten our child's place."

"I've given her love and the prestige of being Mrs. Song. You must stay in the shadows, enduring the injustice."

"Once the baby is born, I'll arrange for adoption paperwork and bring the baby into the Song family."

"Don't worry, Jordyn is kind-hearted. She'll take good care of the child."

"She'll never know. Not ever."

Jordyn stood frozen in place, feeling an icy dread.

It turned out he hadn't forgotten Brad.

He wanted to make amends to Brad by having her bear his child; then, to give Jordyn a sense of security, he orchestrated everything, including the removal of her uterus.

Initially, she fantasized that perhaps the doctor was mistaken or there was someone with the same name as Ryan and Brad.

But fantasies are fragile, always destined to be broken by the harshness of reality.

Given that their past affections were no longer present, she no longer wished to play the game of being his beloved or forgotten passion.

She turned away and hailed a cab...
