"Come on, Celia. Is that anyway to speak to your dear sister? Shouldn't you invite me in?" Nora pouted, her eyes glinting with mischief as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"I–I-" I muttered incoherently, still shocked at the fact that she was here. Her presence here was only going to spell trouble for me. I just knew it.
Before I could form any coherent words, Nora pushed past me into the mansion, almost knocking me down in the process.
I managed to catch my balance and avoided falling before letting out a sigh as I turned to Nora who had already begun moving around the living room, admiring its aesthetics and unfortunately, Ingrid was nowhere in sight.
"Nora. What in the hell are you doing here?" I asked, unable to contain my frustration.
Her eyes instantly darted towards me, a ugly scowl making its way onto her face as she slowly stalked towards me.
Her scowl turned even more menacing and I knew nothing good was going to come out of this confrontation.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Nora growled, her voice low and dangerous and the look in her eyes menacing.
"Do you think you now own the place just because you've been married to Shane Reynolds for what? A few hours?"
She rolled her eyes, a mocking laugh escaping her lips as she finally got close enough, suddenly grabbing me by the front of my clothes and nearly choking me in the process.
"Just because you are married to a billionaire doesn't make you important. You will forever be nothing. No one. Just a gum under my shoe, you stupid bitch. Don't you dare forget your place. All of these should have been mine," Her striking blue eyes darted around the mansion before landing back on me.
"Shane Reynolds should have been mine. You stole him from me, you whore." Nora spat, her eyes flashing with malice and disgust.
I couldn't help the disbelief and disappointment which flooded my insides as she spoke. Nora was truly delusional, trying to accuse me of stealing Shane from her.
She also had some balls making such an accusation when she slept with Ian while I was still with him.
I would have confronted her about it, but at that moment, she was nearly choking the life out of me.
I coughed, tapping her hand gently as my face turned red from her grip on my neck. "Please let go. You're choking me, Nora." I wheezed, my eyes shining with tears and my plea only seemed to anger her even more.
She raised her hand and landed a resounding slap on my face. "How dare you tell me what to do, you stupid bitch. How dare you?" She growled, her voice still low.
My face stung from the heavy slap and my eyes watered with tears. I opened my mouth to speak, but Nora was not done with me yet.
She landed another slap on my face and a low gasp escaped my lips as my face stung once again.
Tears welled up in my eyes, but at the same time, anger boiled in my veins as my hands clenched into fists by my sides.
I shot Nora a heated glare, my lips quivering which only made her chuckle lightly.
"Oh look. You're glaring. Are you going to do something about it?" She taunted, her eyes glinting with malice and mischief.
"Come on. Do something about it, you stupid bitch. Do something." She poked me on the forehead continuously with her finger, forcing me to do something.
My clenched fists trembled by my sides as the urge to do something grew even stronger, but when I remembered when Nora and Victoria pushed me down the stairs because I stood up to them, I forcefully swallowed my anger, letting out a loud sigh.
I never wanted to go through that experience again.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching the living room and Nora must have heard it too because her bright eyes widened slowly before they darkened with mischief.
Before I could even figure what she was up to, she slapped herself loud enough that it echoed around the spacious living room before grabbing the vase which sat on the table next to us, shattering it on the ground.
My eyes went wide with shock and confusion and a low gasp escaped my lips just as Ingrid arrived in the living room.
Nora, the great actress that she was, placed her hand on her cheek as a clearly fake sob escaped her lips.
"Oh no, my face! I can't believe you slapped me, Celia! How could you?!" She cried and I stood there horrified because I never touched her.
I couldn't believe she managed to pull off the stunt which she pulled off at my wedding once more.
"What in the world is going on?!" Ingrid exclaimed, rushing towards the shattered vase, an expression of horror on her face.
"What in the world did you two do?! This is Master Reynolds' prized vase! It is worth millions of dollars!"
An exaggerated gasp escaped Nora's lips.
"It wasn't me! It was Celia. She slapped my face and shattered the vase all because I showed up here when I did not even mean any harm! I just wanted to see how she was doing. If I knew that she was so keen on cutting ties with her family because she is now married to a billionaire, I never would have showed up. I never knew she hated her family so much."
I watched in absolute awe and disbelief as Nora began bawling her eyes out.
Ingrid turned to me with a disappointed expression on her face, but when I opened my mouth to speak, I heard a baritone voice cut in harshly.
"What the hell is going on here?"
That was the moment I knew I was fucked.
