"You haven't even asked for my name yet," I murmured lowly, only for him to hear.
"What's your name?" He asked, still not looking at me, and I bit my lip before answering him.
"Luna."
"Luna," He mumbled, testing the word on his lips. He smirked after saying my name, as if he had just made a joke with it.
It felt like a blow had been delivered to my stomach. Does he not like my name? Does he not like me? I thought, while pushing a few strands of my blonde hair behind my ear.
The wind was blowing heavily, and my torn nightgown did nothing to protect me from the harsh wind.
I rubbed the flesh on my arms with my palms, making goosebumps appear on my skin. I was surprised to see his jacket in front of me, and I looked up at him.
"Take it," Landon muttered, shaking the jacket in front of me.
A smile broke out on my face as I took the jacket and shrugged it on, its warmth instantly enveloping me.
"What about you?" I asked him, biting my lip nervously, but he shrugged instead.
Maybe I was wrong... Maybe he likes me.
We had been walking for over an hour and I was about to ask Landon when we would be at his pack when I noticed the trees thinning out.
In less than a minute, we were in a clearing, and I kid you not, right before me was a castle. A freaking castle.
It wasn't like the huge mansion we had back in Dark Moon Pack-no, this... This here was more beautiful and absolutely fantastic.
"Wow," I gawked, pulling the jacket closer to my body as we approached the intimidating castle.
The walls that protected the pack were tall and long, not giving outsiders a view of how the pack houses are. The iron gates were pushed open when the guards saw their Alpha approaching, and we all walked through before they closed it back.
The houses were just like the ones in Dark Moon, but the only difference was the houses here were much closer to each other.
Those in wolf and human forms bowed in respect as their Alpha passed, while they gave me curious glances and a few looked at me in disgust.
If I were also them, I would be curious as to why a girl with dried blood and torn clothes and no shoes is in their pack.
My cheeks burned red in embarrassment, so I lowered my hair like a curtain to block the view of the people from seeing my face.
Alpha Landon seemed to have noticed my issue, and when I glanced up at him, I saw him staring at someone behind me.
That's how tall he is, and that's how short I am. He doesn't even need to stare at someone from my side when he could just look above my head.
I turned around to see that the man he was staring at was now walking up to him, so I shifted to the side a little to give him space.
"Get her new clothes," Landon started, looking at my figure and then down to my feet that I wiggled into the wet sand. "... And some shoes too." He added, giving the man a black card and my eyes sparkled at the thought of putting on something comfortable.
"Okay, Alpha," the blue-eyed man muttered before turning to look at me.
Why the hell am I naming people by their name? I asked myself before rolling my eyes dramatically... In my head, of course.
The blue-eyed man's eyes roamed my body, making me close my eyes for a second when it reminded me of the way Aron had looked at me.
He isn't here.
He is
I chanted those words repeatedly in my head. When I heard a growl, I snapped my eyes open to see that Landon had his hand balled into a fist as he glared at the man.
"Do not look at her that way, Scott!" Landon barked, shocking me and the people around us.
Scott apologized with his head down in submission before asking for my shoe size.
After telling him, Landon led me to his house. He pushed the door open, and I gasped in awe.
The modern house was painted in white and black, and the shape kinda looked like a box. Every piece of furniture in his house was either black, grey, or white in color, with pictures hanging on the walls. His house looked cozy and homey-something I did not have.
I didn't have time to look around as Landon led me up to, well, as he said, 'The room I'll be staying in.'
The room was absolutely beautiful, with off-white walls, a four-poster bed in the middle, and a walk-in closet on the side-nothing like the basement I used to live in in my old pack.
The thought alone made me shudder as I remembered how cockroaches would crawl up my body while I slept.
"You'll be staying here. If you need anything, knock on the door down the hall, but only if you need something," he said sternly, and I nodded before he could even finish talking.
He walked out of the room, leaving me alone to explore my space.
When I could no longer hear his footsteps, I closed the door and released a squeak as I flopped onto the bed.
The bed, laid with soft white sheets, molded itself to me no matter which position I lay in. I released a happy sigh. I turned so that I was face-first onto the bed.
Goddess, I could get used to this.
I got up, realizing that I needed to take a bath. The last time I took one was four days ago. Pushing the door to the bathroom open, I gasped as I saw a bathtub in there. A freaking bathtub.
I know most people will wonder why I am freaking out over a bathtub, but this was the first time I got to bathe in one. I was never allowed to use it in the mansion.
I stripped out of my tattered nightgown and filled the tub with warm water.
Goddess, this feels amazing.
It seemed like I had fallen asleep, and I do not blame myself for it. Wrapping a white towel around my waist and using a smaller one to cover my hair, I walked out of the bathroom and into the room.
A brown shopping bag was placed neatly on the bed, and I opened it to see a bunch of different colorful clothes in it.
My lips curved up in a big smile, and my heart instantly filled up with gratefulness. I quickly dried my body before putting on a grey hoodie and black leggings, paired with white Converse.
I took a comb from the nightstand and brushed through the tangles in my hair. When I was satisfied with how it was, I left my hair to air dry.
Now, I need to go find Landon and thank him.
