That was the official account of the police.
A new rescue vehicle was developed last year, but Dinah didn't have enough cash on hand.
She managed to add two vehicles to the team now.
Just as she finished dealing with the police department affairs, Jeffrey called her.
Dinah didn't speak and waited quietly for Jeffrey to start.
In the past, she would break the silence.
She always felt that she clung to Jeffrey, so naturally, she should ease the awkward atmosphere.
But she didn't want to speak this time because he couldn't even keep the most important thing.
He wasn't worth her time.
Both ends were suddenly silent, and only the sound of each other's breathing could be heard.
Jeffrey's breathing grew more rapid. He was clearly suppressing himself.
"Huff..." He exhaled heavily and said, "Are you now unwilling to even talk to me? Just because I'm Jeff, the one you love?"
His words made Dinah lose rationality. "Shut up. You have no right to mention him."
Jeffrey was nearly heartbroken. It turned out that just the name Jeff could make Dinah explode with emotion, although she usually looked so aloof.
He had asked her to call him Jeff when they had sex before, but she never did that.
It was not that she was not used to such intimacy, but rather that he wasn't worthy.
Jeffrey bit his lip hard, and blood dripped down to his hand.
His heart suddenly died. "I decide to fire you. If you want, you can work at the branch office."
On one hand, he didn't want to see Dinah now, but on the other, he feared she would truly slip out of his control and disappear.
The conflicting thoughts pulled at his nerves like two people tugging from opposite sides.
So he had a splitting headache.
Dinah refused. "Not necessary."
"The branch office won't..."
Dinah interrupted him. "Thank you, but I won't go. Let's stop seeing each other again."
After hanging up, she deleted all of Jeffrey's contact information.
She wanted to completely erase him from her life.
After the call was cut off, Jeffrey angrily threw his phone and nearly hit Rose, who was just entering.
She said gently, "Who upset you? I made your favorite coffee. Why don't you try it and see if it still tastes right?"
Jeffrey looked at the coffee, and it reflected his cold, hard face.
He raised his hand and smashed the cup.
"Is that all you do during work hours? Do you only think about how to please me?" His scolding could be heard throughout the entire floor. "You've been managing the department for a week, but you haven't achieved any results. Are the R&D staff just sitting around doing nothing?"
Rose's face turned red, and her hands nearly wrinkled her clothes from twisting them. "I'll urge them right away. Actually..."
She said while observing Jeffrey's expression, "I gave instructions early on, but no one has given me feedback. Maybe I'm not as capable as Dinah, but I'll try my best to learn. I'll make sure to stay where you can always see me. Please don't be angry."
Jeffrey stared at her for a moment.
Suddenly, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her fiercely.
He didn't hold back his strength and quickly bit her lips until they bled. The metallic taste spread on his tongue.
He suddenly remembered Dinah at night.
Her hands were also covered in blood. Did it taste the same?
"Leave now!" He suddenly went mad and pushed Rose away.
She tumbled heavily out of the door, and everyone saw it.
She looked at Jeffrey incredulously and wanted to question him.
But upon seeing his murderous eyes, she gave up all such thoughts and left in disgrace.
Jeffrey murmured, "You're nothing like her. She would surely come back. Dinah, you're so cruel..."
She left him alone and completely disappeared.
A week passed.
Jeffrey heard nothing from Dinah for the whole week.
Her previous department was now a mess.
The goods that were supposed to be delivered weren't sent on time, and those that were delivered turned out to be defective.
The cooperation that had been previously arranged was canceled at the last minute.
Jeffrey started to panic.
Dinah had managed all these things before. Now that there were problems, he didn't even know who to look for to fix them.
But Dinah's phone was off.
Just as Jeffrey was about to report to the police, a package was delivered to him.
It was a notice from the police. "This is to certify that Dinah Flynn passed away the day before yesterday. This is to inform you."
