Chapter 7 His Trap

'Debtor?! Is it your trap to lure me? I won't fall into your trap!' Athena thought in her mind because it was possible if this man would use his trick to lure her but why? It was so easy to kill her rather than let an assassin stay with him.

"Why? Do you think that I set a trap for you? I think you have to remember again about the possibility that you will get involved with debtors." He said again.

Zev made her shocked by his words. Athena felt this man could read what was in her mind and thought about this possibility made her scared. But again! Athena tried to be calm and reminded herself if superpower man just was in the fantasy, that was not real. Athena was someone who doesn't believe in superstitions.

For a while, Athena was still thinking why this man mentioned about debtor... Oh, no!

'Please don't say it's about mom! Had he investigated mom as well?' When Athena started to get a clue about what had happened, She just understood that she was really facing real trouble because this man was so smart and dangerous. Athena took a deep breath because she knew it was her risk when she accepted the job to kill this man and her mission had failed.

"Why? Judging from your reaction, I think you have got insight already regarding how the debtor was coming, right?"

'Wait! How come he knows what is in my mind?' Athena asked herself but Zev just stared at her and Athena couldn't avoid him at all since his body imprisoned hers.

"Zev, I think you should free me first." Athena said in a low tone because that woman felt so awkward with this kind of position.

"How can I trust you? You can attack me again." He said as his gaze pierce on her.

"I am not. I promise." Athena said while taking another deep breath.

"Athena, just follow me then I will answer your question." Athena was shocked when Zev whispered in her left ear gently before he released her and held her arm to help her to sit properly. Even Athena wanted to avoid him but at the same time, that woman realized that she couldn't. She also doesn't know what the reason is but one thing that she was positive about...

There was something that tied both of them.

"Zev, who are you?" She turned her face so she could look at him. Their faces were so close until his breath touched Athena's face lightly and delivered an electric spark on her skin. Something that she had never experienced before even though there were a lot of men had touched her body.

"Promise me that you will follow me." Zev said in her ear gently. Athena still couldn't avoid him when Zev came closer.

"Zev..." Athena really doesn't know what has happened to her as her body became hot since what had happened that night and now, Athena couldn't deny that his presence somehow made her feel so comfortable. "What are you doing to me?" Athena asked him out of curiosity.

"I do nothing." Zev answered nonchalantly.

Even though that man said so, her instinct said something must have happened and she had to find the answer no matter what. If not, Zev would haunt her forever.

"You do. I know it," Athena insisted as she stared at his amber. For a moment, Athena was silent while she observed him as she had never seen there were beautiful amber eyes like him.

"Then .... If you want to know the answer, you have to follow me right so tell me what your answer is because your brother will be with me."

At this time, Athena realized that she couldn't escape anymore and someone like Zev Russel must have investigated everything before he appeared in front of Athena suddenly. It was because he had prepared everything.

"Okay, I will follow you." Athena said annoyedly while she tried to stand up but Zev pulled her weak arm to him so her body fell on his lap.

Athena was astonished when her skin accidentally touched his warm skin. She felt there was a familiar sensation that she had ever felt before but that woman was not sure as well. Their eyes met. Even if it was just for a while, Athena doesn't understand how the simple moment could ignite the sparks inside of her? Athena just knew that she needed him to touch her passionately but her mind said that she has to be sober before that man would kill her and her brother.

"Athena, are you okay?"

Zev's question made her come back to reality but Athena still needed time to compose herself. She was not sure if it was because she got a fever or the possibility that Zev Russel did something to her. His presence delivered a dark aura but Athena doesn't know how to describe something like this.

"Zev, let's go. I just want to sleep." Athena said to him without trying to move from his lap.

"Okay, we will go. You don't need to worry. I will take care of everything for you." Zev whispered again in her ears before he stood up as her body was still in his arms.

Normally, Athena would not let anyone bring her like this but with Zev, Athena just let him bring her like this. Athena felt like she was hypnotized by something powerful inside of him.

"Athena, you can take a rest now. I am here with you." He said gently.

When Athena woke up the next morning, she was shocked. Athena needed time to compose herself and gained the memory about yesterday. She felt like she became the most stupid person in the world because she followed him as she was still feeling guilty regarding that matter. The guilt became double when she found herself in the same room when her kill attempt had failed that night.

She took a step before someone came. All that she wanted was to run away from this place. Athena knew that she always failed to run away from him but she would never surrender until...

"Athena, what are you doing?" Zev's voice made her freeze.

"I am-"

"Athena, do you want to run away? Again?" Zev smiled at her as if he was mocking her. "Athena, you can't stay away from me since that night. Do you know it?" Athena doesn't think that Zev gave her those questions, every sentence that came out of his mouth was like he wanted to eat her alive.

"Seriously Zev, why do you want me to be here with you?" Athena was so annoyed but at the same time, she was also afraid when she saw his evil smirk.

"Because I want you and you need me. Oh! I forgot." Zev answered nonchalantly.

"What?!" Athena shouted as she could not deny that she has been so nervous since their encounter.

"Don't you think that you owe me an apology?" Zev stared at her and his gaze somehow made her body hot as her leg became so weak. "Remember that you attempted to kill me?"

"I am sorry but you know about my job."

"I know it. Actually, I will kill whoever that made a mess but you are so different."

"What do you mean? Zev, since we met you just made me confused. Explain to me, why did you not kill me?"

"Because you are my mate." He said.
