Chapter 5 .

But what kind of an act was that that they haven't found someone who can do it? She wondered. She thought of asking him but she brushed the thought away as that was inappropriate. She doesn't even know him from anywhere and he would think she was been listening to his conversation.

"I'm ready to pay anything from a thousand dollars every month including her feeding and allowance too. Just get me a lady who is pretty and can do whatever I ask of her" Natalie's eyes widened after she heard the amount he was willing to offer.

"I'll do it" she said without having another thought. If she could get a job that can pay her a hundred dollars every month, she was willing to take t talk more of a thousand dollars. The man scanned her from head to toe and frowned his face.

"I'll call you" he said to the person over the phone and hung up. "You'll do what?" he asked her. "I'll take the job you want to give out." She said. He looked at her from head to toe and sneered. "How old are you?" he asked her.

"I'm 27" she didn't lie about that. She saw his eyes lit up but he maintained his expression. "Do you have any idea the kind of job you will be doing?" he asked and she hesitated for a moment before answering him. "No"

She doesn't know what job that was but the pay was so good that she didn't think twice before saying she can do it. "And are you sure you can do it?" Natalie smirked "yes I can do it" the elevator came to a stop and the doors parted. "Follow me" he said.

He followed him all the way from the elevator down the hallway. But as they walked through the hallway, the people walking there paused and each of the bowed their heads. At first, she thought they were bowing to her having recognized who she was until another guy who should be younger than her ran out from another office and bowed his head in front of the guy in front of her.

"Master, I've found..." he waved his hand on the air, shutting the guy that just came. " I've found someone already" the young person looked at Natalie who was holding on to her files and then looked at his master. "This girl?" he pointed at Natalie.

"Get the door" the master commanded. He bowed his head and hurriedly opened the ahead of them. Natalie was taken aback when she steppe her foot inside the office. It wasn't like that of her dad or her ex boyfriend, that office was the biggest thing you could ever see.

Her eyes travelled round the room looking at the interior of the office and it wasn't anything compared to her dads or ex boyfriends too. At the wall behind the desk, his picture frame hung there. And under it was written; MR. ALEXANDER HARRINGTONE CEO HARRINGTONE'S CONGLOMERATE.

Natalie looked at the man standing in front of her and the picture again. She was shocked, was it the dame man on the picture or her eyes was playing tricks on her? She looked at the picture again and found out it was the same person standing in front of her.

She knew the name, everyone in that city and beyond knew the name. Why didn't she recognized him the moment she saw him? Maybe it was because it has been years she saw him last. He hadn't age a bit, that stern look was still there, and his manly aura too was still there.

She remembered when she mistakenly splashed a glass of wine on him at a cocktail her dad was invited to at the Harrington's few years ago when she was only 20. That day, she would have been thrown inside the jail if not that her daddy too was a prominent figure in the city.

"Miss?" the other guy brought her attention back. She was so lost in thought that she didn't know Alex was talking to her. "It's a contract and I'm sure you aren't going to terminate it before the suppose time elapses" came Alex's voice.

Now, she also remembered that voice that yelled at her that day immediately he said that... she couldn't believe the man that wanted her thrown in to jail years ago wanted her to be of help to him. She could turn down the offer but she needs that money to take care of her child and grandma.

"Yes, master" she bowed her head. He signaled to the guy and he picked up the contract document from the desk and handed it over to Natalie. "You can go through it before signing" he offered Natalie a seat but Natalie thought it wasn't necessary to read the paper.

"Hand over a pen, there's no need going through it" she id. Both the Assistant and Alex didn't say a word to her and he, the Assistant handed over a pen to her. Natalie signed it without reading even the first sentence in the document and handed it over to him.

"Now tell me what I am supposed to do" she said to Alex who was now sitting on the chair looking at her. He leaned forward, locked his fingers on the desk, and fixed his eyes in hers.

"You are going to act as my wife for as long as I want" he blurted.

Natalie's jaw dropped. Was she going to act as a wife to the richest dude in their city or what? She was shocked. She has never for once had a thought about crossing path with him again but she was going to act as his wife?

"You've already signed the contract so, no need saying you can't do it"
