Chapter 4 .

For three years, Natalie has been trying to get a job. She has been going from one company to the other but none was willing to hire her. For some time, she had thought maybe her step mum or stepsister was behind that because there were nothing those two would not do to make her life difficult.

She even went to hotels, restaurants, and even clubs to see if she was going to get a job but she got none. Some of the interviews she got lucky to be part of never call her back. Natalie would have given up but her grandma was already getting old day by day and the it was difficult for her to work as before.

Even though she could not work like three years ago, the woman still managed to do the little she could do. She never wants her grandchild to suffer in her life. Even though she told Natalie she was fine that she could do any job to fetch them money, Natalie never gave up search for job.

What if they wake up one day and found the woman gone? What was she going to do? Where was she going to start? She has lived her life being taken care of right from her young age. Her daddy was the one taking care of her until he sent her away from the house.

Speaking of her dad and step mum, Natalie remembered she has never set her eyes on the ever since she left the house. Not only them, but James too and her friends from college. It wasn't as if she was hiding from them, she didn't hide from anyone because she did nothing wrong.

What happened that night wasn't her fault; her evil stepsister drugged her. Whenever Natalie remembered what Bosha did to her that night, shell always gain more confidence to find a job and show them she was better off without them.

She looked at the bed where little girl of three lay sleeping peacefully. Natalie smiled, four years has already passed, but she couldn't get her mind off everything that happened then. She never thought her one nightstand with the stranger was going to get her pregnant.

However, does she regret removing the baby when her grandma suggested that four years ago? No, she didn't. She kept her pregnancy and fall in love with the baby even before she was born. In addition, when the baby came to the world, Natalie was the happiest person that day.

She giggled when the baby let out a sigh in her sleep. She went to the bed, lowered herself, and pecked the baby on the cheek. "I'm going out there to look for a job again. And I promise you, I'll get a very good job with a huge pay" she whispered to the sleeping baby.

She had no idea how that was going to work but she must try to get a job that day. Her baby was there for her to take care of and her Granma too was there. If only she knew who the man was that night, maybe things wouldn't have turned out that way for her.

Sometimes, Natalie would think if the man was James and he denied that because he doesn't want anything to do with her. Then, he would remember what her stepsister said and she would let out a deep sigh. Whoever it was, she knew she was going to find him someday.

Grandma was also sleeping in her room so, Natalie didn't wake her up to tell her she was going out of the house. She left with her handbag and some document inside the file. The only thing she has in her purse was the ten dollars her grandma gave her the previous day when she told her she would be going out in search of a job the next day.

She felt bad taking the money from her but she had no choice than take it because she has nothing with her. She slowed down a taxi which would take her inside the city where the companies where located. She must get a job that day or never returns home.

"Oh lord, let today be my luckiest day" she inhaled deeply before stepping inside one of the companies. She had looked it up in the internet and their reviews where good. They always recruit new staffs each season and she hoped she wasn't late.

She went inside the company and asked of the only department, which they knew she could work in perfectly, the fashion department. However, as soon as she entered the elevator, a young lad dressed in black suit entered too. She glanced at him from head to toe.

He was holding a file under his right arm and a phone in his left arm placed on his left ear. Natalie didn't intended to listen to what he was saying on the phone but something caught her attention.

"Don't tell me you haven't find anyone" said the man to the person over the phone. Don't care what you are going to do about it but I don't want it to pass today. Time isn't on our side and grandma is on my neck. Can't you be useful just for once in your life?"

His voice sounded so authoritative that she wondered whom he was speaking to on the phone that way. She looked at him again but he wasn't that bad. He has the aura of a rich dude and he wouldn't be more than two to three years older than she would.

"Yes, just find me a lady from 25 to 30. In addition, make sure she is someone who can act very well. If you bring a lady that would disgrace me, get it at the back of your mind that you will be fired." he commanded. Natalie scoffed. There she was searching for a job but the person standing in front of her was about to fire someone from his job.
