Chapter 9

Via Kaye Pov

"Baby I was even surprised because of Jelai's shouting. I retreated because he rushed to hug her. It's like we just met.

"I stink Jelai." Dwayne said.

"No way, you smell so good. Like a baby."

I just looked away when Dwayne squeezed his nose. I didn't like what I was seeing so I just went inside.

Why do I feel this way? Am I jealous?

I smiled at Maxene when she looked at me. I sat beside him.

"It's good that you went with them, iha. Your vacation didn't go well here last time." said grandma Irene to me.

"That's why, the grandson is too lazy to come back here." I said. I was talking about Dwayne. I looked up when Dwayne and Sister Jelai entered. Dwayne is smiling, I just saw Dwayne smile! He is very attractive. The smiles on his lips don't disappear, especially when his best friend whispers something to him.

I took a deep breath and looked back at grandma Irene with a smile. From the corner of my eyes I saw them climbing the stairs together.

"I saw that." said Maxene when grandma Irene left.

"What? "I saw that too." Savory said.

"I do not understand you." I said.

"The sadness in your eyes while looking at them." Maxene uttered. "Can you look at my eyes Via?" she asked.

I faced her and looked at her eyes. "What is it?"

"Do you have feelings for my brother?"

I blinked "Don't deny it Via. It's obvious." Savory said.

"I-I don't really like him." I denied but why am I stuttering?

"It's not bad love Via, well I don't choose anything for my brothers. I want to warn you Via. Don't fall in love with him "But why?" I asked curiously. I want to know why he doesn't want me to fall for his sister.

"You'll only get hurt." she said.

"But what if I can't stop falling in love with him? What if I really do love him?"

"It's up to you, but you shouldn't blame anyone when you get hurt. I already warned you "It's not hard to love La Torre men especially when you get to know them well, but brother Dwayne because he doesn't care if everyone falls for him. You are just who you are to him." Savory said.

"What if he falls for me too?"

Maxene and Savory looked at each other. "It's good! Congratulations." they exclaimed at the same time.

I laughed so hard that they looked at me with frowns.

"What are you doing, I'm just asking. Just in case, you two are very serious."

"But the truth is, don't you have feelings for him?"

"Nothing okay, nothing." I said emphatically. I honestly don't know if there is or not.

I wiped my hair hard because I just finished taking a shower. I tightened the towel around my body before looking for clothes. I was about to remove the towel but the door opened.

"Maxene when not"

My eyes widened because it was Dwayne. He was surprised and did not continue what he had to say. He quickly turned back. I swallowed and closed my eyes because of shame. He never saw it but it was embarrassing because I was only wrapped in a towel.

"I'm sorry. Next time lock the door." that's all he said, he closed the door.

After getting dressed, I left the room to go see Maxene and Savory who were on the wide golf course. Just next to the mansion.

I was stunned for a moment when I saw Dwayne come out of Sister Jelai's room "Call me if you need me." he said to his friend.

I didn't wait for what Jelai had to say. I just let them go but I feel heavy.

All day I see the sweetness of Dwayne and Sister Jelai. By being sweet, it's like they're not friends. What I also know is that Sister Jelai likes her best friend according to Maxene.

I couldn't take what I was seeing anymore so I just went into the room. I prefer to sleep first. I'm sure Maxene will find me. I'm sleepy too and what time is it?

I woke up without Maxene next to me. He is the one next to me when I sleep. I looked at the time 7 am in the morning. I got up and cleaned up before going out. Maybe Max woke up early.

"Good morning." I congratulate Lola Irene. He was sitting in a rocking chair while drinking coffee.

"Good morning, did you sleep well?" he asked "Yes, I slept really well. Was it Maxene's?"

"Oh, they left with Jelai, they didn't wake you up because they said it's better for you to come here first. So you can relax too." What?! They left me? "Where did they go?"

"In the city, but they will also return. They only accompanied Jelai because he has not seen his parents for a long time.'

"Is it Dwayne?"

"I'm sure he's been going around the ranch again. That doesn't last long here at the mansion. He prefers to stay outside with the workers. He prefers to be doing things rather than hanging out. "Can I go out? I'm going to see him."

"Do you know how to ride a horse?"

"I'm going to walk."

"The ranch is wide."

"It's fine with me. I can handle it."

"Have breakfast before you go out."

I nodded. They prepared food for me. It's a shame because they still serve me. Even though I'm a guest, I don't want to be served.

I went out after eating. The rancho is really big so I don't know where to start. Where can I find Dwayne?

My feet are very hot and painful. I'm tired of walking. I asked the other workers if they saw Dwayne but they said no. Couldn't he be in the hut? But gosh that's far. It's at the end of the ranch.

I continued walking even though my head hurt because of the heat and even though my feet hurt but because I was tired I sat down on the side.

I smiled when I saw Dwayne walking back. Its beauty is overflowing from afar. I stood up and called him. I even jumped up and down while waving. His frown did not escape me.

Hey, it must be annoyed to see me again.

"Hi." I smiled as he approached.

"What are you doing here?"

"Uhmm just walking around."

He let out a breath and passed me.

"Are you going back to the mansion? I'm with you. It's too hot so I'm going back there." I said. He didn't speak so I followed him.

"Maxene left, didn't even say goodbye to me." I said but he was still silent. He is really stuck. "Could you please not hurry? My foot hurts so much."

He stopped and looked at me without emotion. He looked down at my foot that was now being held. I squeeze it because it really hurts.

He took a deep breath, turned around and sat down. I just looked at him.

"I'm hooked." he complained.

"Huh?"

"Are you going to ride or not? Get on if you don't want me to leave you here." he says. So does that mean he's going to load me? "Via Kaye, what the hell?" he said authoritatively.

I smiled, of course I rode behind him. I stared at his back. Even though he sweats, he still smells good. The smiles didn't disappear from my lips until we reached the mansion. I snorted because he was about to put me down.

Wasteful! I'm hung up.

"Uhmm Dwayne." I called him. He's about to go inside. He stopped and looked at me. "can you help me? I-my legs are shaking, maybe because of tiredness." I said shyly.

He looked away and held out his hand. I clung to him. Well, I'll make the most of it, even though my feet are really shaking. I secretly smiled when he touched my waist, of course I acted like I was crazy. He supported me to sit.

"What happened?" Grandma Irene asked.

"Not used to walking." Dwayne said indifferently, he headed for the stairs and went up.

" You alright?"

I smiled at grandma Irene. "Okay, I'm okay. I'm just tired." I stand. "I'm just going up to the room."

"Alright, come down later for lunch."

"Yes, go ahead." As for the climbing I did, it was a bit painful unlike before. I stopped when I met Dwayne. Our eyes met, he looked down at my feet. "Ouch!" I groaned and acted again of course.

He just shook his head and passed me. I followed him with my gaze, I smiled at him even though he couldn't see.

I only stayed in the room for a while. I also went out because I have nothing to do, it's boring to scroll through social media, watch netflix.

I turned to Dwayne's room, I could hear his voice. He was talking to someone on the cell phone, the door was still open. Because I am a great chismosa, I came closer and listened.

"Do you think I can do that? With the amount of work you ask me to do, do you think I can finish it all? I'm not your only employee." he told the other person in disgust. "The h*ck, if I could split my body I would have done it."

Who is he talking to? Could it be his boss? For sure it's his boss he's talking to. What more nonsense will it make Dwayne do?

"Fine! Fine! Give me three days, I'll do all that. I retreated because he faced me. Good thing he didn't see me.

"What do you want?"

I clutched my chest in shock. He's by my side. So he saw me? Probably....it's right in front of me.

"H-huh? I just passed by." i know

"Who are you kidding? You really only meant to come see me."

I quickly shook my head. "N-no ah. Just passed by."

"Where are you going? Here on the side? What are you going to do here? Stare at the wall? My room is the only one here at the end."

I scratched. What can I say?

"Weird." he whispered. He entered his room, I was going to follow him but he closed the door. I almost tripped.

"You're really rude." I whispered. I'm just listening.

I just talked with grandma Irene until the night came. Maxene isn't there yet, they said they'll be there first and Dwayne said he'll take care of me first, of course I want that.

"I'll call Dwayne." I said to one of their trustees. Because he's about to eat dinner, he has to leave his room, he didn't eat lunch.

I knocked on his room, he opened it in just a few seconds and O to the M to the G, he was topless! Just finished taking a shower. He smells so good.

"Look at me Via, not at my body."

I swallowed and looked up.

"What do you need?"

"I-I'll eat you I mean I'm going to eat you. Hey Via what are you talking about?!

"I'll follow."

"Huh? Let's go down together."

"I'm going to get dressed."

"If you want me to dress you." I said smiling.

He gave me a death glare.

"Just kidding." I said smiling. I left him there.

"When are you coming back?" I asked Maxene. He called me to say hello.

"Only sister Jelai will return there, not us, Savory can return for our safety."

"What do you mean? You're in danger?"

"Yeah, we were close last night. It's good that Brother Ken came. Go with Brother Dwayne who will come back here tomorrow. I'll call him later to talk to him." said and said goodbye.

I'm nervous for my friends. The La Torres are so powerful that many are jealous and their lives are in danger.

I looked out the window. I saw Dwayne fixing his car. It's topless so I can't help but look at her beautiful body. I watched his every move. I really couldn't stop myself from admiring him.

I can't really deny that I like him. Yes I have a crush on Dwayne Maverick La Torre!

"Via iha."

I jumped in shock. Grandma Irene was behind me. "You're amazing grandma."

The old man laughed. "Do you want to go to the square?" he asked me.

"Are you going?" I will ask.

"Yes, because I have to buy something. I can't order servants because they have other things to do."

"Alright, I'll go with you." I approached him and held his arm.

Dwayne looked at us when we got out. "Where are you going?" he asked.

"I hope to be in the plaza grandpa, I need to buy something, where is Freddie?" asked grandma, she was looking for their driver.

"He's sick, grandma, he needs to rest. What are you going to get from the plaza. If you want, I'll go."

"Aren't you busy?"

"I'm about to finish here."

"Then you and Via should go."

"I want that, grandma." I said I was happy but of course the other one was not happy. The face is dark again.

"I can go alone. And you need a companion so you can leave him here."

"Oh, don't worry about me. Take Via with you so she can see the plaza."

I smiled at Dwayne who blew out air. He's sorry, he can't do anything.

"I'll just take a shower and get dressed." he said and entered. I just waited for him outside. I leaned on his car. Straighten up as soon as he comes out. His clothes are simple but he has the strength of his former self. Women will definitely look at it again.

It was as if someone wanted to caress her face and I stared at it. "You are really handsome. Your face is smooth." I whispered. I was surprised when he held my hand and put it down.

I stepped back because he took a step. I leaned against the car door again. I swallowed because he brought his face closer to mine.

Is he going to kiss me? Oh my gosh I'm not ready. I closed my eyes, waiting for his lips to touch mine.

"Get in, if you don't want to be left out!"

I opened my eyes. Dwayne was not in front of me, he was already inside the car! It's annoying, I thought he was going to kiss me. I still hope!

I entered with a snort. He started the car again. "Seatbelt." he says.

"Aren't you the one to hook up for me?" I asked and she still had beautiful eyes.

"Don't you have any hands?"

I frowned. He is really naughty.

We were only in the square for a while. We only bought what grandma Irene bought. Too bad I didn't make the most of the time with him.

"Dwayne." I call I opened the door of his room. He was about to take off his t-shirt but couldn't because I entered.

"Weren't you taught to knock before entering?" he asked me.

"Sorry "What do you need?"

"Grandma Irene is calling you."

"I'm just going to get dressed." he says.

I nodded.

"Do you need anything else?" he asked because I still didn't move to go out.

"Nothing "What else are you doing? Get out now because I'm going to get dressed, or maybe you want to watch me undress?"

"Did you get it." I said smiling. But of course I was just kidding him. "Just kidding." I said seeing his scary reaction. I quickly left his room.
