Chapter 8

Dwayne Pov

I was stunned as I listlessly followed Leon and Via. We've been driving around for almost two hours and we've only been to the same place.

"You've never been here?" Via asked Leon.

"Not yet. In the time I've lived in Canada, I haven't been able to visit it."

I laughed and shook my head at what Leon said. He has not been here? Lies! How many times have we been to this place?

"You stand out." I whispered to Leon as I stood next to him. It just elbowed me.

"Are you DM? Have you been here?" Via asked smiling.

"Yeah." I just answered and started walking towards them.

"Why is your friend so rude when it comes to me? I'm not doing anything wrong." I heard Via say.

"Don't pay attention to him. He's really like that to everyone, not just to you, he's only kind to Jelai and then to his ex, Fe-."

I gulped loudly so he didn't continue what he had to say. It's too chatty.

"Just get used to it." it's a whisper but I can hear it. I sat on a bench, I let the two take pictures of the beautiful views.

A girl caught my attention because of her camera flash. I frowned, he was obviously surprised. He smiled and approached me. I looked down at her id, she's not a reporter, she's a photographer, she works for a company.

"You're DM right? The racer, I'm-."

"Cathy."

"You know me? Oh my gosh, why do you know me?"

"ID." I said indifferently.

"O-oww." she laughed. "I recognized you right away even though you were wearing a hat and shades. Your beauty is overflowing in this place. Do you know that I was looking for a subject to pass something on and I found you perfectly."

"Delete it." I ordered.

"You're taking a picture of me without permission." I stand up. "Delete that." I said seriously. I turned my back on him and my eyes searched for my two companions. Via ran to me.

"Where's Leon?"

"Comfort room. Aren't we going to eat yet? I'm hungry." he said like a child, I looked at him evilly as he clung to my arm. He just smiled and slowly removed his hand.

I heard a loud rumbling from his stomach. I breathed a sigh of relief. "Le's eat. Let's wait for Leon there."

She's excited so she jumped like a kid. The others looked at him and said nothing, I pulled him away.

"Aren't you going to take off your hat? You know respect for food." she said.

"We're not inside yet, we're just outside."

"Just saying. Can you please DM and smile just once."

"There's no reason for me to smile."

"It's really ugly, thank you, you're handsome." she murmured.

I just shook my head.

"But I wish you would smile at least once, I wish you would smile right in front of me." she said. I was tapped and first entered the restaurant.

I decided not to enter. I'll just wait outside for Leon. Via is signaling me but I ignore her. I scratched my head because it still came out.

"If you're waiting for Leon, he's not there, he texted me saying he has to go home because his stomach hurts."

Goodness! Why didn't he message me? I decided to call him and that's it, he had lbm so he went home. So does this mean that only the two of us will eat today?

"Just order Dwayne, whatever you want to eat. I'll answer." Via said with a smile.

I adjusted my shades and leaned back. "Are you serious?"

"I am." she answered proudly.

I watched him for a while and he was really serious. "Whatever I want?"

"Yes all the food you want to eat."

I smiled. I called the waiter and ordered a lot of food. I wanted to laugh because Via's eyes widened. She closed her mouth and swallowed. He couldn't believe it.

"To you, ma'am, what is your order?" the waiter asked her.

Via smiled slightly and scratched her head. "Ummm juice." she said. "There's a lot of orders, so it's just juice." she said. "Thank you." she said softly then she looked at me and widened my eyes.

"Is there a problem?" relax I ask?

She smiled. "Nothing. I didn't know you were greedy." it said.

I'm not really a strong eater. I just meant to increase the order because he will pay.

Via was stunned when the food arrived. "Can we finish it?!"

I tasted it. "Drink it."

"Hey Dwayne Maverick-." she was about to shout my full name but because I stood up to cover her mouth. His voice was so loud that we got the attention of others.

I removed my hand and sat down again.

"Desyne Maverick La Torrre, do you think I eat too much?"

"You should eat a lot to gain weight."

"Can we eat peacefully?" I asked and started eating. He got up and started eating. I'm done but he's not. I stirred the water. "Drink, you might choke. And stop eating if you are already full." I said. It's obvious that he's full and is just trying to get the food into his stomach.

She drinks water and looks at me in disgust. "It's a shame if you don't eat them too."

"Just take those out." I said. I picked up my phone because someone had a message, It's Leon. He sent a photo. "The fuck!" I'm cheap.

"F*ck that girl." I whispered. That photographer I want to find her.

I grabbed my phone from him.

"Who took that?" she asked.

I stood up and took our tske out. I have handed over the payment. "Keep the change." I said and walked out.

"Dwayne why did you pay? Didn't I say I was free." Via said to run to me. "You walk so fast."

"I'm a man Via, it's not good if I let the women pay for it." I said and approached the street children, I handed them the food.

They're happy while looking at the food. They keep saying thank you.

"Do you like children?" Via asked.

"Yeah "I like it too. We can do something."

"I don't know about you." I said and turned away from him. He laughed loudly.

Via Kaye Pov

I went home happy, I was happy because I was with Dwayne. My smile disappeared when I saw who was sitting on the sofa.

I took a deep breath. Mommy must have sent him. "Inigo you are here." I call attention to him.

He turned to me and smiled.

"Are you here yet?"

"Just arrived, aunt went up to take something."

I smiled at him and waved. Even though I was a little far away, I could see his frown. My smiles didn't disappear until he got closer "Hi Dwayne, how are you?" I congratulate you.

"What are you doing here?"

There was his cold voice again. "Your brother and cousin brought me. They said we will stay here for 3 days."

He got down and tied his beloved horse. I'm jealous of the horse because Dwayne can ride it and Dwayne can stroke it and kiss it!
