"My Dad''s company is in trouble? What do you mean?"
Aldebaran sighed slowly.
"Please ask your secretary to leave first. I want to discuss it privately, just the two of us."
Alexa had no choice but to comply with Aldebaran's request. She then looked at Jessy and signaled her to leave with her eyes.
"Now, tell me, what do you mean, Mr. Aldebaran?" she asked.
Aldebaran didn't immediately answer Alexa's question. He looked like he walked towards the sofa and then sat there casually.
"When you were in the hospital and unconscious, your father encountered a significant problem. And he suffered a huge loss because of it."
Confusion began to dominate Alexa's feelings after hearing Aldebaran's words.
"What big problem do you mean? My dad and his company are fine. Even I can still stand in this company without worrying about anything now."
Aldebaran smiled at Alexa. A mysterious and suspicious smile for Alexa.
"You're still calm because you don't know anything yet. Okay, I'll tell you everything, but please listen to me carefully."
He paused, then looked at Alexa's face deeply.
""When you were in the hospital, your father's main property building was burned down, causing him to suffer a loss of billions of dollars," Aldebaran said. "I'm sure Mr. Gerry hasn't told you about this problem since you woke up, Alexa."
Alexa was truly shocked by the news of her father's enormous loss.
"If you don't believe me, you can check it on the internet," Aldebaran said, smiling mysteriously. "There are many websites that report on your father's situation."
Alexa immediately searched for news about her father on her phone. However, she couldn't find any.
"I can't find any news on the internet. You're just fooling me, Aldebaran. Get out of here!" Alexa said, rudely kicking Aldebaran out of her room.
Aldebaran, however, didn't budge. Instead, he took out his phone and searched for something. After a few seconds, he handed it to Alexa.
"Maybe you can't access the news because Mr. Gerry has limited your email and the company's email. But you can see it on my phone, and you don't have to thank me for that," Aldebaran said.
Without waiting to hear what Aldebaran had to say, Alexa snatched his phone and quickly scanned the news websites that were open on the screen. The articles all confirmed what Aldebaran had hinted at: her father's company was in trouble.
After a few minutes, Alexa reluctantly accepted that Aldebaran had been telling the truth. She turned to face him, her expression cold and suspicious.
"So, you came here to show me that my dad's company is bankrupt?" she demanded.
Aldebaran shook his head. "No, Alexa. I came here to help. I can offer your father a loan to cover his losses and help him secure his shareholders. But he needs to accept my condition."
Alexa's unease grew. She had a bad feeling about where this was going.
"And what's the condition?" she asked.
Aldebaran stepped closer, his expression serious. "If your father accepts my offer, he must give me his only daughter in marriage. You, Alexa."
Alexa's eyes widened in shock.
"M-marry you?" she stuttered.
After finishing her conversation with Aldebaran, Alexa decided to leave work early. Since Aldebaran's arrival at her company, she had become restless and couldn't stop thinking about his words.
"Mom, where is Dad now?" Alexa asked as soon as she arrived home.
Kania, who was reading a book on the sofa, was surprised to see her daughter.
"You're home, dear? You usually come home in the evening," she replied.
Alexa shook her head and stood in front of Kania. Her eyes scanned the room.
"Where's Dad now, Mom? I need to meet him now," she repeated urgently. She really needed to speak to her father about a serious matter.
"I just got home. What's going on, Alexa?"
Before Kania could answer Alexa's question, Gerry appeared and walked towards Alexa. He had just come out of his room.
Alexa walked straight towards Gerry. "Dad, why did you hide such a big problem from me?" she asked directly, impatient to discuss the matter with her father.
Gerry looked confused after hearing Alexa's question. He did not understand what his daughter was talking about.
"What do you mean, Alexa? What big problem?"
Alexa walked towards Kania and took her mother's phone, which was lying on the table. She then searched for news about the fire that had happened in Gerry's warehouse and showed it to her father.
"What is this, Dad? Your main property has suffered a huge loss, and you didn't tell me about it. Did you intentionally hide this from me?"
"I-I didn't mean to hide this from you, Honey," said Gerry. He looked very surprised after seeing the news that Alexa showed him.
Alexa took a long deep breath and stared at Gerry with a sharp gaze.
"If you didn't hide it from me, then why did you block the news website from my email and the company's email, Dad? Were you hoping that by blocking the site, I wouldn't find out about such a big problem?" she asked.
Gerry shook his head.
"Okay, I'm sorry for hiding this, Alexa. But I'm trying to solve this problem on my own, and I'm sure it will be resolved as soon as possible," he answered. Finally, he told Alexa the truth about the problem he was currently facing.
"U--uhm ...."
