Chapter 4 It's a Deal

Elena.

Scott left my room l,in a storm. I stood there in shock. Staring into thin air as, I broke down into tears.

"why won't he reject it," I asked Elijah, and he let out a sigh..

Coming close and trying to comfort me. He starred at me only for so long and he started speaking in a bid to calm me down.

" Ever since I was chosen to be Alpha and not Scott, he has never been on the opposing side of my father much, he just accepts whatever is being dished out to him, it feels like his voice has been snatched away from him. I think the shame and humiliation of putting me high above him has really kicked him off his high horse, has become so carefree about life, that he doesn't seem to care anymore.

The only thing and person I know that he cares for so much is his girlfriend. It may come as a shock to you but yes, Scott has a girlfriend whom he loves and adores a whole lot.

I overheard him fighting and arguing with my father, he doesn't want this union either but there's only so much he can do. My father threatened to banish him from the pack, disown him and rip Off the family name away from him totally if he disobeys him.

Father even pushed him and told him to show an action that he was going to become your mate and show interest in the u ion by coming to pay you a visit.

I recalled the incident where Scott's girlfriend approached me and decided not to say anything about it.

This decision by my father is really a ruthless one, he's ruining lives and he doesn't even care," Elijah said.

" Will I still be your Gamma?" I asked with my head bowed in sadness, I had no intention of becoming Scott's mate. All I have always wanted to be Elijah's mate.

Elijah shook his head and said," Yes, you will still be my Gamma unless you decide to quit because of the circumstances, but I won't hold any grudge against you, you'll always be my friend."

I needed some alone time to process and accept the situation because this was too much. Even Elijah had already accepted this.

I stayed in bed all day while Caleb left my house in a depressed state. I was unable to cheer up despite my parents' efforts. I declined it. I loathed them, and I couldn't stand my life. I would have welcomed the Alpha's decision to join Elijah and me. who is Scott?

I endured fourteen days crying and sulking about this decision, even though I was sure nothing was going to change. I didn't go to parties or events, and I didn't think I would in the near future because I could foretell how miserable my life would be.

Luna Sandra paid us two visits to discuss the arrangements with my parents. She seemed excited and really impressed with the supposed mate she's forcing on her son.

Alpha Damien Brook mated with Sandra after Scotts mother passed away when he was only a baby. Since then, everyone has referred to Sandra as Scott's mother, but he has always consistently pointed out that she is not his mother. The woman didn't matter to him in any way.

Despite the fact that I knew it was impossible to run, impossible to hide away, all I wanted to do deep down was vanish, to disappear.

That week, Elijah got into a lot of trouble with Alpha Damien. I didn't get to see my friend because his father blamed it on his inactivity and gave him some responsibilities and obligations to make him feel more accountable and to sit up...

I dreaded the fact that I would soon be given to Scott. The thought scares me, at least no day was fixed yet, that gave me some sort of comfort.

Elena," my mother greeted me. I had made the decision to remain inside ever since they informed me of the arrangement. I wanted no one to see me. The entire pack and nation would have been aware by this point that Scott Damien, Lord arsehole, and I were going to meet., I have been receiving numerous threat and warning messages from unidentified individuals.

Few minutes later, I heard my mama call me again to come downstairs. I was still in my Pyjamas but I didn't mind. I went downstairs and found Alpha Damien and his family in my living room .

Unconcerned, I greeted them politely, if he weren't the Alpha of our clan, I sure wouldn't have greeted him in that manner.

My mama looked at me with a whole lot of disappointment of which I hoped the family of Aloha Damien Brook will do the same. But Luna Sandra Damien still looked at me smiling and reassuring how beautiful, well-mannered and courageous I was.

I still couldn't u understand her sudden love and admiration for me.I quickly turned my gaze to Scott, I could tell he was sad , for the first time since this whole mating arrangement began , I wasn't thinking about myself.

I wondered what it must be like for Scott, at the very least, I had supportive parent, urging me that everything was going to be fine, but he had no one.

Elena, Alpha Damien Brook called out and I responded without haste, just as a Gamma should, with my Chest upright and my hand flinging into a salute.

Congratulations on your status upgrade and rank as a Gamma, you really deserve it.

Scott takes a walk with your mate to be and get to know her better.

Scott eyed Alpha Damien scornfully but he dares not disobey him.

"Hey, girl, don't get ideas into your head, I am not interested in this arrangement even a tiny bit "

I'm not interested either, I said immediately.

"My father paid your parents a huge amount of money and promised them lots of goodies, they were ready to sell you off almost immediately "I don't blame them, you are all low class, gold diggers , looking to reap where you did not sow.

I raised my hands to land a hefty slap on his face, but ended up trying too hard to control myself.

"A feisty one and hot tempered too, how did you even get the position of a Gamma again? Must've slept your way all through the top, I'm sure that's what you low life's do" Lucky you it worked out for you.

Elijah does not even look at you twice, he didn't dance you and you decided to settle for me , it's all about the money, fame and power that comes with the Brooks name , isn't it? Trust me, all that glitters isn't gold.

I was thrown off and I sincerely did not know how to respond to him but at this point he had hurt me, he disrespected my parent and also insulted me, I pushed even harder to hurt him.

At least, I could assume the rank of a Gamma, but you will never amount to anything, you will never be an Alpha, you'll watch your younger brother take control over the pack, he'll rule over you.

I saw him flinch, he raised his hands high in the air, he was bold, domineering and where Elijah asked for respect, I could see that Scott commanded it, I realized how much this hurt him but I didn't care because he started it.

You better watch your mouth young lady; you will never be my mate and I have someone who I love and adore greatly.

It's fine, that works for me as long as she stays away from me. Scott looked shocked at my response but he didn't want to look weak.

We can be a couple to the public eye but I'll still keep my girlfriend and you can keep screwing whoever you are screwing as long as it stays a secret between us, you can never let a find out about this.

I am only doing this because of my father and mother.

This will be our secret, I smiled and it was obvious that I was in on the deal. This was the happiest day since I heard about being Scott's mate.

We would have no problem living in the same house, our terms are clear, we don't love each other and we are just having to pretend to the public that we are, we can pull this through .

We walked back to the sitting room and we both had smiles on our face.

Everyone looked impress but I was more impressed with the new development.
