Chapter 7 Going All Out

It took the police the entire day and night to find Madilyn.

Candice rushed to the police station as soon as she received the news.

As she walked into the station, she heard Madilyn yelling, "It must be Candice Blake! She's the only one who would do this! She tried to ruin my life to get Rey to dislike me!"

Greyson had already arrived at the station, holding Madilyn in his arms.

"Rey, I'm so scared. I was so afraid I wouldn't get to see you again," Madilyn sobbed.

"It's all right now. There's nothing to be afraid of anymore," Greyson assured her as he patted her gently on the back.

"We will look into it. We can't take action against Candice Blake as there is no evidence yet. Please, calm down," the policeman persuaded patiently.

"What evidence do you need? You can do a background check on her. This is not the first time. Three years ago, she kidnapped me. Now, she did it all over again!" Madilyn cried pitifully, putting her acting skills to good use.

"I was almost raped... If you didn't arrive to save me in time... I would be too ashamed to face Rey now..."

While Madilyn was a beautiful woman, her ruffled hair and the trace of dirt on her face made her more delicate and pitiful.

The policeman felt sorry to see her in this state, so he coaxed her repeatedly, "It's all right now. Don't cry. We'll get to the bottom of this."

Candice felt her head aching at the scene, and she was annoyed.

Just then, Greyson was stunned as he raised his head and saw her.

She wore a burgundy colored dress and had delicate makeup on.

She looked stunning.

He had never bothered to take a close look at her before. However, she now seemed a little different from the Candice he knew.

She had a beautiful face, a smooth neck, and a sexy figure.

She wasn't wearing jewelry and didn't need to, as her skin was radiant enough.

Her long hair flowed casually on her chest.

She looked even more stunning than Madilyn.

Madilyn was jealous. She had never seen Candice dress up before. How could she be this beautiful?

The policeman also caught sight of Candice and asked, "Are you, Candice Blake? This lady claims you pestered her boyfriend and even hired someone to rape her."

Candice was amused.

She smiled and replied pointedly, "I pestered her boyfriend? Sir, you must have been mistaken. This man in front of you is my husband."

Candice looked at Greyson indifferently. Since they couldn't make their divorce public, they had to act as a couple in front of outsiders. She had the upper hand today.

A trace of embarrassment flashed across Greyson's face.

Madilyn was dumbfounded and didn't know how to refute Candice's words.

The policeman stared at Madilyn in surprise and scolded, "So you are not his girlfriend! What are you doing then? Since this is clearly a family affair, you should take it back home. We have more important things to deal with!"

His sympathy for Madilyn faded away. It turned out that she was not even Greyson's girlfriend. How could she be so thick-skinned?

Another policeman approached and said sternly, "You should all leave. This lady must have been frightened by what had happened to her, but she doesn't seem hurt. Although she accused Ms. Blake of kidnapping her, there is no evidence to prove it is true. We will continue our investigations. I will contact you when we have any progress."

Madilyn sulked as she had gone to great lengths to stage the kidnapping. How could she be willing to go home without any gains?

She rolled her sleeves and retorted crossly, "Who said I wasn't hurt? Look at these bruises all over my body. She hired someone to do this to me!"

Her skin was bruised all over.

Madilyn was good at pretending. She glanced silently at Greyson with tears welling up in her eyes while she bit her lip.

She looked so pitiful that any man would pity her.

Even the two policemen frowned at the sight of the bruises.

Candice sighed.

Madilyn was really going all out to frame her.

Greyson felt his temper rise and shot a glance at Candice coldly.

All of a sudden, Candice slapped Madilyn hard across the face.

Everyone was stunned by Candice's unexpected action.
