Chapter 3 Let's Divorce

Greyson's words were like a knife stabbing into Candice's heart.

She could hear the sound of her heart breaking.

No matter how strong she was, Greyson was always the only one who could hurt her.

At that moment, she felt an undeniable distance between the cold-blooded Greyson and herself.

She had never seen him display such a cold expression.

He had a handsome face, but she had never seen him smile, at least not at her.

She felt so sad.

She had loved him for ten years.

Seven years of unrequited love and three years in an official relationship.

In these years, he had never once held her hand.

She had tried so hard to make him fall in love with her in the past three years, but she failed miserably.

She knew that he never wanted this marriage.

The Harman family had been engaged in medical industry for generations. They had owned a pharmaceutical company and a hospital, but when Greyson's father was in charge, he sold the hospital, with only Harman Pharma left. Not to mention it was now surviving by a thread.

Candice's family, on the other hand, ran a successful biological technology company.

She was the apple of her parents' eye.

They knew she was obsessed with Greyson, so her mother promised to give him a precious medicine formula in exchange for the marriage.

Hutton Harman, Greyson's grandfather, was jumping with joy at the proposal and forced Greyson to marry Candice for the interest of the family. Although Greyson had resisted, he had no choice but to compromise in the end. He gave up the woman he loved and agreed to marry Candice.

After all, only when Harman Pharma successfully launched the new drug could the Harman family return to its previous glory.

Unfortunately, Candice's parents died in a car accident, and they only left her a piece of paper with the formula written on it.

She was no longer a lady of a prominent family.

She was worthless in Greyson's eyes, just like the dirt on the floor.

Her misery was obvious at this moment.

She lay prostrate on the floor. Her clear eyes, initially sharp, were now dimmed.

She didn't get a good rest last night and was being tortured today.

Blood dripped from her forehead, landing on the back of her hand.

She felt both physically and mentally hurt. Her whole body ached and felt weak. She was cold and was about to faint. However, she maintained her dignity and didn't want to collapse in front of the mother and son.

The tension was growing in the room.

Finally, she glanced at Greyson and said with a sad smile, "Greyson, let's divorce."

She didn't want to lose the only thing she had left, her dignity.

At the courthouse.

Greyson signed the divorce decree without any hesitation.

Candice felt dejected. She couldn't believe he really signed it...

However, she knew that he wanted this.

He never had the intention to marry her.

Greyson said coldly, "What you did is disgraceful. Before the new drug is launched next year, we will keep the divorce a secret. Your mother's formula has been handed over to the research department. You will get 20% of the benefits."

Candice smiled forcefully and said, "If I can prove my innocence, you must return me the patent right to the new drug."

Just then, she saw a frown flash across Greyson's face and said coldly, "What's wrong? You don't dare to agree? Were you the one who schemed against me last night? Maybe you have never wanted to marry me. You and your family put on a show just to get the formula. Am I right?"

She had trusted him wholeheartedly. When he finally held her hand at the wedding yesterday, she felt so happy that she handed him the formula with no questions asked.

Greyson felt insulted and promised, "Fine. I agree. But, if you do something disgraceful again and embarrass the Harman family, the patent will belong to me. Also, you won't be getting a single penny."

"Sure."

Candice signed her name on the divorce decree with a heavy heart.

They had gotten married yesterday and were already divorced the next day.

It was so ridiculous.
