Chapter 8

The next morning

Maggie came into Tina's room to call her for breakfast but didn't see her.

"Tina! she called out, but got not reply.

"Tinaaa!! she called out again more loudly, but still there was no reply.

"Are you in the bathroom? she asked as she opened the bathroom door but it was empty.

"Where could this girl be? she asked herself.

She was about to go out and search for her outside the house when her eyes caught a folded paper on the reading table. She took the paper opened it and read the contents. It says:

Dear parents

By the time you are reading this later I must have been far gone. I have to do this so that I can heal. I am sorry for leaving without telling you guys but I have to do it because I know you guy will stop me if I tell you. Thanks for all the support and love you showed me throughout this trying period, I couldn't have stand strong without you guys. Please don't look for me, because I will be fine where ever I am. I love you guys very much.

Your loving daughter Tina.

Tears were already dripping from Maggie's eyes as she read the later.

"Nooooo! she screamed so loudly and fell on the floor. Roland rushed into the room and saw his wife on the floor and that got him confused. He heard her screams from their bedroom and traced her voice to Tina's room only to find her on the floor.

"What is the matter my dear? he asked her with concern.

"Ti Ti Tina" she started stuttering.

"Yes, what happened to Tina? he asked her curiosity written all over his face.

"She she she " Maggie kept on stammering.

"She what? Roland asked already getting impatient.

"She is gone" Maggie finally let the cat out of the bag.

"What do you mean by she is gone? Roland asked with confusion written all over his face.

"She is gone" Maggie repeated pointing at Tina's letter which fell of her hand in her shocked state.

Roland picked the letter up and read it, after reading the letter he was left speechless. He was as shocked as his wife. Soon he recovered from the shock and began to console his wife. He when to where she sat on the floor crying and raised her up.

"Don't worry, it is for the better of our daughter, she will come back a strong and independent lady" he said to to her as he lead her out of the room. He knows that it would be difficult for Maggie to adjust to her absence because they are very close to each other.

"But how can she take care of herself and her unborn baby? Maggie asked Roland still crying.

"Don't worry, she will take care of herself she is a strong lady" Roland assured her.

As the plane started ascending into the sky, Tina looked out through the window and waved California a good buy. She is leaving California and all the bad memories behind.

3 hours later, 20 minutes later

"The plane will the landing in the next three minutes, please fasten your seatbelt" was the announcement the passenger heard from the air hostess.

Everyone fastened their seatbelts and soon the plane landed. Tina came out of the plane and breathe in and out,

"This is surely a breath of fresh air" Tina said Inhaling the air.

She took a cab to a town in Mexico City where she has already rented a small apartment. Within a short period, she reached her destination and entered into the empty apartment. She was already tired due to her pregnancy and the stress of her journey. She spread a blanket on the floor and lied down, before she knew it, she drifted off to sleep.

The next day, she woke up with pains all over her body, as a result of sleeping on the floor. She stood up, brushed her teeth, had a cold bath and wore a knee length gown, then she left her room and locked the door. She decided to have a tour round the city to know the business opportunities that is available there.

As she went around the town, she discovered that there are many children in that area so she decided to start selling children stuffs like, sweet, biscuits and candy.

Back in california, Maggie is still sulking over her daughter's departure. She did eat anything the previous day and uptil now he hasn't eaten anything. Roland tried to convince her to take something but she refused. She just kept crying and talking to herself.

"Oh my poor daughter, how are you gonna survive on your own with your pregnancy? she asked herself.

"Who will cook for you and help you do your chores?

"Who will be there when you need someone to talk to?

"Can you just stop crying? not like Tina is dead or something, why do you keep sulking? Roland who was already getting irritated by her cries asked her.

"Why won't I cry? our daughter has never left home before, how is she going to survive on her own with her pregnancy? she asked him.

"But will your crying bring Tina back? he asked her again but she did answer.

"If your crying will bring her back, then she would have been back by now" he said to her.

"This is all Ethan's fault, that bastard, if he had not raped and denied her all these would have not have happened.

"I just hope he doesn't come back in future to claim that child because that would be over my dead body, I will fight him with the last drop of my blood" Maggie said angrily.
