Chapter 6 Kicked Out Of The House

"Ah!"

Hayes screamed uncontrollably, covering his scalded face.

The boiling water had left blisters everywhere on his skin, making him a miserable sight to behold.

Debby's head swiveled in shock to see who would do such a violent thing. It was Mathews!

Holding the empty kettle in his hand, Mathews was still fuming.

He just couldn't stand hearing Hayes' filthy words anymore.

How dare this lecher try to take advantage of Debby and threaten her?

He had to pay for it!

"Do you know who the hell I am, loser?"

Hayes screamed, pointing at Mathews. His eyes were filled with loathing.

"I'm the director of Hlas Bank. You're fucking dead meat-"

Before he could finish his sentence, however, Mathews slapped him across the face.

Then, still unsatisfied, he kicked Hayes hard on the stomach, sending him flying backward.

Hayes landed on his back on the floor with a heavy thud.

"I don't give a shit about who you are!"

Mathews said fiercely, narrowing his eyes. If looks could kill, the man on the floor would already be dead. "Get the hell out of here! If I ever see you again... I won't let you live!"

Hayes was smart enough to know that he couldn't physically win against Mathews, so he got up and awkwardly limped out of the room.

But even as he went, his face was full of fury and resentment. He shouted, "Damn it, you bastard! I won't let you go!

I will definitely take revenge! You will all be doomed!"

Mathews ignored him and instead turned to Debby with concern. "Are you okay?"

Before Debby could answer, Patty scolded, "Mathews Larson, you ungrateful bastard! Do you know what you've done? Is this how you repay our Coleman family for taking care of you?

Offending Hayes at this critical moment will destroy our Coleman family! Did you think about that?"

Hearing her mother's words, Debby stayed silent and frowned.

To be honest, she was also disappointed at Mathews for his brutal and impulsive behavior.

Perhaps Hayes had deserved it for his shameless request, but such things were common in the business world.

Besides, Debby and Patty might have been able to convince him to consider other terms instead.

But thanks to Mathews' actions, the bridge had been completely burned, and now Hayes must have considered the Coleman family his sworn enemies.

At this moment, Debby finally began to doubt her decision to side with Mathews.

Maybe she would be better off if she broke off their engagement like her mom insisted.

"Calm down. Don't worry. I can get you the loan," Mathews said, smiling slightly.

If Debby wasn't so furious, she would have burst out laughing. "Mathews, what nonsense are you talking about? You can't even pay for the medical fees for your foster mother. How can you afford the loan that my family needs?"

Debby knew that no bank in the world would hand over five million dollars to a nobody like Mathews.

She shook her head with a resigned look on her face.

"It can be done. Give me five minutes."

After saying that, Mathews sent a message to Saul, briefly explaining the situation of the Coleman family and the loan that they needed.

A reply came at once from Saul, saying that five million dollars would be an insignificant amount to offer as a loan if Mathews, who had one billion dollars to his name, was the guarantor.

After glancing through that message, Mathews lifted his head and looked confidently at the mother and daughter. "Go to Hlas Bank tomorrow. You'll get the loan."

However, Debby and Patty both looked at him incredulously, as if they were looking at a lunatic.

With a disdainful snort, Patty said, "Are you mad?

Do you want to embarrass the Coleman family more than you did today?

Just pack your things and get out!

You're not welcome here!"

Patty had always wanted to get rid of Mathews, but this was the perfect opportunity for it.

This time, Debby didn't intervene to support Mathews. She just stood there in silence, with dismay clouding her eyes.

"Debby, don't you trust me?" Mathews asked with a bitter smile.

But all he got in response was Debby's silence.

"Fine, I'll move out right away."

Exhaling sharply, Mathews walked straight to his room.

After packing up all his things, he left the Coleman family's villa.

Ever since his adoptive mother had fallen ill, Mathews had gotten nothing but disappointment from the members of the Coleman family, except for Debby. And now, even Debby wasn't on his side.

There was no point in staying in this cold place anymore.

Watching Mathews walk towards the door, Debby opened her mouth slightly, as if she wanted to say something.

But in the end, she said nothing, and just quietly watched him leave.

With bags in his hands, Mathews stepped outside the front gate of Inburgh Villa District.

He looked around in a daze and had no idea where he was going to go.

Suddenly, he heard a surprised voice call out from behind.

"Mathews? Mathews Larson? Is that really you? What are you doing here?"

Mathews turned around in confusion.

A beautiful and pure-looking girl ran towards him with a big smile on her face.

"Emory, I didn't expect to see you here." Despite the pathetic situation he was in, Mathews couldn't help grinning from ear to ear when he saw his old friend.

Emory Smith was his college classmate and had always been on good terms with him.

"I live nearby. Right over there," Emory said, pointing at an ordinary residential district not far away.

"What about you? What's with the bags?"

"Well... I used to live here, but I was basically kicked out of the house. I have nowhere to go," Mathews said honestly.

Emory didn't probe into his situation. After all, she knew that everyone had their own difficulties.

"You know what, I happen to have a spare room for rent. How about you stay there for the time being?" she suggested enthusiastically. Before Mathews could respond, she grabbed his bags and walked towards her place.
