Chapter 6 A Perfect Son-In-Law

Her phone did not have to ring for long before she picked up the call.

"Jen, you have not been answering your calls, why?"

I stared at my pants. There is no atom of acknowledgement. All she cared about was why I did not pick up her calls.

"I went out for a while, sis. Is there a problem?"

I asked her with my voice void of emotions.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, there is a problem but I would not say it's a problem. I believe by now mom had told you that you would be staying with me for a while. The thing is, Zain is in town and would be visiting Mom so that you both would leave by tomorrow, I was calling you to tell you to pick few of your things"

I was speechless.

"Why sis?"

"Why what Jen? I don't believe you would be asking me this question. It's not like you are staying here for your whole life, it's just for a few months"

I blinked and let my tears flow. I see that mom and Susan are bent on making my life miserable. So going to stay with Susan is not enough torment for me. They want Zain and I to be in this car for God knows how long? If it is their plan to frustrate me, it would not work for them.

"Jenny, you are taking too long, dinner is served"

Mom screamed from the kitchen and I quickly wiped my tears.

"Sis, it's fine. I have heard you. I guess I will be ready before tomorrow then"

*Good girl, tell mom I sent kisses and as I said, Zain will crash the night with you all. Love you, kid sis, see you soon"

The call got hung up and sighed.

"Really sis? Is it necessary for him to spend the night here?"

"Jenny!"

Mom called again

"I will be right with you shortly"

I said and quickly stood up and stripped off anything in my body and strolled to the bathroom with my towel.

While I washed myself, the memory of the first night with Zain kept on playing in my mind. This memory haunts me day by day. No matter how hard I try to forget it, it will not go away.

"Spread your leg baby, it won't hurt I promise"

His voice rang in my head.

Despite mom's warning not to get deflowered until I was 18, I still gave in to Zain's seduction and I can tell you that I had the best sex ever that day. It was my first sex experience and Zain took me on a journey to bliss. I never regretted being with him. I regretted that he left me for my sister. It was painful to watch the man that makes your heart beat get married to your sis. Tasha said he doesn't deserve me and I know this but my heart can't stop wanting what it wants. I don't have an issue with my heart loving him, where I would have an issue is being under the same roof with him and my feelings would not stop disgracing me. I can manage to be far, to love him from far but I can't manage to love him close. It's not like I have a choice anyway. Mom and Susan want me to go and Tasha wouldn't hear me say otherwise. It's like 1 against 3

Drowning in my thoughts I did not realize how far the time had gone until my mom yelled my name again, I guess for the third time.

"Coming mom"

I said and quickly got myself out of the bathroom. I hurriedly dried my body and wore my pajamas and left the room not without grabbing my phone along in case a call like that of my sister comes in.

Mom was already seated when I got to the mini dining room. It looked as if she had waited for a long time.

"I was beginning to think something was wrong with you. What kept you for long?"

She was worried. I smiled at her and got myself seated as well.

"Sorry Mom, Susan called me. I don't know if you know but Zain will be crashing here tonight and we both leave tomorrow morning. She said he is in town and would be spending the night here which I am sure you don't have a problem with."

"I am not aware though but it's a good thing. At least, travelling with him will be safer not that you can't take care of yourself but I will be rest assured that you are with someone who could protect you if any danger arises."

She said and I huffed in my mind. I know that was rude but mom doesn't know that it will be better to walk the valley of death than to spend a second with Zain. Mom failed to understand that Zain might not be the complete gentleman she thinks he is. I wouldn't blame her anyway. He is the perfect son-in-law.

"Mom, only if you know that I would choose death over a space with Zain"

I thought and sighed inwardly.

"Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's have dinner or should we wait for him?"

"That's not a good idea, mom. I am so hungry and I bet you, he would have had something where he would be coming from."

"You are so right. I can't even wait because it is past dinner time for me"

She said and smiled at me and I returned it. Heaven should just help me to overcome this temptation that is knocking at my door.

Mom dished my food and handed it to me then poured a glass of orange juice and handed it to me as well.

"Thanks, Mom, who knows when next you will be able to do this for me"

I said and picked up my fork. She dished hers and settled down to eat.

"I know, don't make me start missing you, Jenny."

"I hear you"

I chuckled.

While we ate, my mind kept wandering, so many disturbing thoughts and occasionally, I would sigh.

"Jenny, I know this is too sudden for you but bear with all of us. Don't do it for anyone but for me and before you know it, it will be over. I promise"

Mom suddenly said

"Okay mummy, I will do it for you"

I assured her and we continued eating. Eating the last spoon of my dinner, the doorbell rang and my heart skipped beats.
