Chapter 5 The Meeting

Jaxxon stood up from his seat and I found out I wasn't yet ready for the towering he had over me. From my 5ft 6 that could be considered tall he is more massive than I had penned him to be. Seeing him on all those business news and I never get to really see the strength of his height, he is fucking massive

I had to move back a little as he had his hand clasped with Mr. Adams as he thank him for having him. I try to crack my head on why am still standing here, been close to him now as he stood is more intimidating than when he had even sat down

''And it was good to see you too Miss Beckett'' he said to me in greeting bringing out his hand

I looked at it and looked at his face where he is spotting a grin and I knew immediately it was a bad idea to have my little hand covered by his

I could feel it, like a burning sensation with only him standing close I knew within me that placing my hand in his would be a big problem so I withheld back

''The pleasure is all mine'' I finally said when I found my voice having thought all that

Moving on I took the file I had previously brought behaving like I hadn't seen the outstretched hand till I hear him scoff taking his hand and keeping it back in place

''Thank you Mr. Adams'' without waiting for the man who didn't even see the hand bringing out and me refusing to take and him sticking it back to himself I turn exiting the office

As I walk away from the first office room before getting outside I felt a presence behind me. I already knew who it was, his presence is intimating I felt myself curling away and so I get my legs busy

''Do you think he really planned on giving one of us the project?" he asked me as I move along almost getting to the door

I stop facing him as he stops too.

''That is totally on him and has nothing to do with me or even you'' I said in the most deeming voice

''Right'' he scratch his head and smiled to me

Shaking my head I found it totally unwanted and turn back to move away

''but then I think he will hand it over to me'' he said

My hand which is already on the door to twist it open stop immediately as I turn to him a smile curling up on my lips

''Really? And what makes you think so?" I ask him

He wave his hand around ''If it isn't that obvious'' I scoff trying to keep the laughter that bubbled inside me away

''Yeah right, cause you are better than me. Nope cause Kyran Empire is better than Beckett B&G? yo jokes on you''

''Am just letting you know, who in his right frame of mind will give such a project to a lady''

Anger bubbled inside me, I would have lifted my hand to his face smacking right across from it if we weren't still in our clients office

''Isn't that funny?'' I said instead ''that out of the whole that had applied here that I a female happened to be taking this position with you? Brace yourself cause am not letting your comment go without beating yo ass up''

Without letting him form another sentence in his mouth to me I turn my back and walked out. How dare him, no wonder every one talked about how very arrogant he can be, he is really fucking arrogant and I want to fucking put him in his place

Hastening my footstep Devan followed me immediately seeing the change in my facial expression and didn't ask me a word as we step out of the building

I tried to control my emotion more not wanting the words of that arrogant prick to get to me

'Because I was a woman?' well his going to learn the hard way, and know that a woman can still beat his ass up

''Devan??.....'' I turn to him ''no matter what we fucking do we are getting this project'' he nodded immediately agreeing with me

Not only because I want to put it in his face that I want to win this, I also know the importance of this project and know only my company can bring it to life

Jaxxon or whatever he thinks his name is doesn't have any chance of winning against me and I will let him know that, while slowly wiping off that smile on his face

''Did anything happen in there? How was the meeting?" my face must have relaxed as Devan asked me

''If you check the time we arrived and the time I came out you will know there was no meeting, he will have to reschedule so make sure to keep up with them''

''Yes mam'' he answered

''And what else do I have for today?" I ask him even though I know I have about a million more things on my timetable

''Since it is already afternoon, you have lunch with you parent'' he said

Yeah great, like it isn't already more worst than it is. Now I have to answer series of questions on how it went by my father

''does the driver know that is where we are heading to?"

''Yes mam'' he answered

I laughed despite myself ''that is Jiselle for you Devan, I am not that old''

A smile appeared in his face and Devan rarely smile

Having worked with my father before he started working for me I know he is the best at what he does which is why no matter what we have come to understand ourselves as there is no need for any exchange between us

''Will you be joining?" he shook his head

''I need to take care of things in the warehouse, the ingredients were shipped earlier today'' he said

''Great, submit it later on to me'' I said to him as the car stopped

I step out of it, this is our head restaurant and seeing how very busy it is shows just how great we are doing, so one certain Kyran Jaxxon can go kill himself
