HIDDEN TRUTH

Episode 9

Dave's pov

"So my mom died trying to save ava and I" I wiped out the tears that was streaming down my eyes. I need to speak to dad, he must tell me where she was buried. Mrs Clara got up, she was still on apron, I pity her, she has gone through alot, She's a very strong lady ,ava is just like her mum. I stared at ava, what's she waiting for to open her eyes?, please get up soon. I sighed and walked out of her ward. I saw Mr Johnson and Morris discussing, what are they saying?, I went straight to them and they all turned to look at me.

"If Amelia comes here, I will make sure I deal with her, I've already informed the police about it" she said. Mr Johnson didn't know what to say again, he just sat down staring at nothing. And then I saw Amelia coming into the hospital at the far end. She's not even sorry ,she just walked majestically to us.

"Dad, you called"she asked chewing her gum.

"She's not awake yet." Mr Johnson said.

"Is that why you called me here?", she asked nonchalantly. I fumed, really, is that all she had to say?

"Are you insane?, is that all you have to say here?", I shouted. she was surprised, I've not talked to her like this before. What nonsense?,

"Are you in anyway shouting at me?," she asked amazed.

"It has come to the level that everyone shouts at me just because of that.... dimwit." She shouted. She had no idea that the drama was just starting. Mr Johnson suddenly got up and gave her a very hot slap. She immediately held her chick.

"You slapped me?," she asked.

"I will do that again if you don't keep quiet,"he thundered leaving I and Morris watching. Immediately the police arrived.

"Where's the suspect?" The police asked immediately. Morris got up immediately and pointed her hand to Amelia.

"I have no words to offer you right now, all I need is justice. When she wakes up, they can then release you". Morris said.

"Dad, are you gonna allow them take me away?,"she asked.

"Please officer, take no time in putting her behind bars". Morris shouted.

"She's not going anywhere", Mrs Clara said surprising everyone.

Mrs Clara's pov

I don't know why I said that but I just need to say it. Something is drawing me close to her ,something very rare, the feeling is mutual. I looked at her, her face and eyes, I've met those eyes before. What's wrong with me?,

"Mrs Clara ,what are you doing?", Morris asked. I ignored her and went closer to the young girl standing before me, I examined her and went back.

"I don't have any reason but I think you should let her go", Johnson looked at me as if I've grown four ears, Dave came to me and touched my forehead.

"Mom, are you okay?", he asked, everyone was surprised seeing him calling me mom.

"I don't understand, why do you want to let her go?"morris asked me.

"Mrs Clara, she's awake, ava is awake". A nurse said. Immediately everyone rushed in except Amelia and the police. We all looked very happy to see her open her eyes, she looked at me and called me.

Ava's pov

I woke up and saw no-one, everywhere smelled of drugs, and then I looked around and noticed I was in a hospital, I thought I should be in heaven now, what's happening?, I called out to anybody around but couldn't see anyone.

Then a nurse came in, immediately she saw me, she ran out as if she saw a ghost.Then almost at the same time, my mom ran inside, followed by Morris, then Dave and one elderly man. Hmm, but what is Dave doing here anyway.

"Mom,i called out and she answered me, tears were dropping off from her eyes.

"Control yourself, I'm not dead yet. "I said to her.

'I know, but you could have been dead by now, I missed you ava, you almost scared me to death." She cried. I looked at Morris, she was sneezing and crying, I couldn't get hold of myself, I found myself crying too.

"We are all in the midst of crying women, I hope I'm not gonna join too." Dave said laughing.

"What is even wrong with this guy?, why is he here?," I asked my mom..

"He saved your life dear."She answered and my eyes widened immediately. so he did saved my life.

"Thank you."I muttered and he nodded blowing a kiss. I rolled my eyes and rested my eyes on the strange man here.

"Who's he?," I asked mom.

"He's Amelia's dad." mom answered. I looked at him and smiled.

"I know you are sorry but believe me, I've forgiven her. "I told him and he smiled.

"Moris, where's Ann?" I asked as I noticed she wasn't here.

"At home, maybe busy with school stuff" she answered ..

Dennis pov

No, no one can take ava away from me, Mrs Clara have made it very easier for Dave to win me over ava. No one can take her away from me.

Dave's pov

I rushed home after talking with Mrs Clara. I saw my dad typing on his computer, I greeted him and he answered without looking at me. What type of a father is he?, he doesn't care about me' all he knows is work work work. I sat down on the cushion in his study room looking intently at him.

"Dad," I called.

"Yes son." He said still typing.

"Where was my mom buried?", I asked him. The question didn't get well to him immediately, he was just typing, as soon as I called him again, he stopped typing, he looked at me .

"What did you say?", He asked.

"Where was my mom buried?, "I repeated the question . He dropped everything he was doing relaxing on his chair.

"Why the sudden question about your mom?", he asked. Yeah whenever I ask him about my mom, he refuses to give me idea of where she is, he only tells me (I will explain later, Just give me some time). It came to a time I stopped asking him. But he must answer my question today.

"Where's my mom?," I asked again.

"I will tell you.....

"Don't tell me that shit again, do I still look like a kid to you?, huh?, what's your problem dad?, why are you hiding it?, mom is dead, dad I know, and I know how she died, now tell me where she was buried." I shouted. He looked surprised, he stood up immediately.

"Do you think it's easy for me?, for being without your mother?, please don't bring this up anymore."

"Really?, is that what you have to say?, come on, why are you doing this?, can't you just have a little pity on your son?you are making my life a living hell for me. Fuck." I shouted,wiped my tears and stormed out of the room. I ran upstairs to my room and shut my door. it's not easy. it has not been easy for me, sometimes I feel hurt seeing Jeremy 's mom play with him, yeah Dennis too lost his mom but he could remember how they were before she died but what of me?, I don't even know how my mom looks like, dad why?, it has not been easy I know but atleast show me where she was buried so that I can pay my respect to her.

All he talks about is business, he doesn't have time for me, I'm always lonely, sometimes I feel like being an orphan than living with a father who only cares about his wealth.

Immediately I heard a knock on the door, I ignored it, the person continued knocking, I know its my dad and am not gonna open the door for him.

"Dave, open the door". He called out.

" I am not opening it dad, I don't wanna see your face."I shouted

"Dave, please, I know you're angry with me but you got to understand that I have my reasons ,open the door."He shouted.

"Dad, go away."I shouted lying on my bed.

"Dave, life have not been treating us well since your mom left us. I'm doing this for you, I know you must have thought I dont care, no, I do care. I'm always with you and I've been trying so hard to make you happy since she died."

"Why are you saying all this now?, you hid the truth from me but all I want now is to know where she was buried".

"I can't tell you that son, I can't".He answered.

"Then leave me alone."I shouted.

Mrs Kate's pov

"Your dad refused to eat, he said he was not hungry."I said to Amelia over the phone.

"Leave him mom, I hope you aren't forcing him to eat." She replied.

"No, but I'm a bit worried, what could be the reason why he don't want to eat?,I heard lately that he has not been eating at his private hotel either, and he comes back late too." I said to her.

"Then you hire someone to follow him and know what he has been up to."

"That's the best idea. "I answered as I thought of who to do the job.

Ava's pov

"Morris ,what about Ann?, is she not coming to see me?", I asked Morris .

"She's recruiting the team for the ball game, very busy now. And you know Amelia is our enemy now, she's out for us"Morris answered.

"The time table is out and the date have been fixed. It's just a week from today , we just have to try harder to be the best, as for Amelia, I promise she never emerge the first position."

"When am I going home?, I don't love being here anymore".

"The doctor says you're okay now but you need to get some rest before going back to school. I think it's tomorrow."

Thank goodness, I'm already dying here, missed my family alot.

" I'm just coming from your house now, your kid brother sends his greeting."

"I missed him so much." I quipped in.

"Hey, I heard Dave comes here almost everyday." Morris asked and I nodded. Yeah, he just left about two hours ago ,he seems nice to me.

Mrs Clara's pov

Yet again, here comes Johnson, what's his problem?, I've told him to leave me alone, my children and I are living fine, why can't he just stay on his own?

"John, I don't like how you come here everyday, what if your wife gets angry?" I asked him as he sat down on one of the numerous chair in the coffee shop.

"I don't know what you are saying right now, I just came in as a normal customer, get me coffee." He urged.

"Okay",i simply answered and left. I came back shortly and dropped the coffee on top of his table.

"Sit." He said.

"Why?," I asked him.

"Just sit". I glared at him for a while before sitting.

"I wanna ask you some few questions, are you listening?",

"Go on". I urged him.

"Why did you leave unannounced then?", he asked me. immediately, I stood up.

"Is this why you came all the way from your office to this place?, to ask me such stupid question?", I asked.

"You left me Clara, why did you leave then?", he asked again".

"I think I have more job to do with my time, let's call it a day. "

I answered him and went inside. I think I will have to stop him from coming here. Why is it a big deal to forget him?, huh, I don't know what to do anymore, I'm stacked up.

Dennis pov

Right now I'm going over to see ava, I think this is the time she needs me. I've missed her in school, missed seeing her beautiful face every morning.when I heard the news of her and Amelia, I asked some students where she was taken to, so I joined them. I was so ashamed of myself for not saving ava when she was in danger, but Dave?, I've noticed something these days. Whenever I and Dave decides to go visit her, I always see this kind of affections he has towards her. I always get jealous seeing them together, and ava too, I don't know anything about her, she gets along with Dave. I hope it's not what I'm thinking because if it turns out to be true, anyway I always have everything in mind.

I rushed to her ward knocking, Morris opened the door.I went in greeting ava as usual. She looks more beautiful, in fact her beauty is killing me.

"How are you Dennis?", she asked with her angelic voice.

"Im cool. Hope you getting better?" I asked and she nodded.

"I think she would be discharged soon, maybe tomorrow." Morris answered.

"We are missing her alot, let her come back soon". I said to her and she smiled.

"I think we can't practice without her. It's just next week and we are still in the hospital. "Morris added.

"You are right, I think we should start practicing here". I said jokingly.

"Where?", Morris asked again.

"Here. I repeated", Ava laughed. Morris looked at me as if she wants to beat me
