Chapter 4 Newly Wedded

Laura signed the contract, so did Tyler.

“Congratulations” the lawyer said to them, giving his best smile.

“Thank you” Laura replied him with no glimpse of smile on her face.

“Congratulations sweetheart. Now, it’s time for you to go to your mansion with your husband” her mother said. Laura knew how much her mother loved money and material things. She rolled her eyes and took her marriage papers.

“My marriage is done already. You two should head back home now” She said.

“No, we would stay with you for a week. I know you need a lot of privacy with Frank…”

“It’s Tyler” Laura hurriedly interrupted her mother.

“Oh yeah, Tyler. Let’s all go home and celebrate this. Katie will make us a nice lunch” Mrs Smith said and turned away. She was still having a mixed feeling about everything that was happening. She could feel that Laura was hiding something from her.

“I didn’t bring my clothes along with me” Tyler spoke softly.

“It’s fine, I have some of Frank’s cloth at my house. You could wear that” she said and walked away. At now, she was calm. What she saw earlier was still ringing as a bell in her head.

Aly and Frank got home. She threw her shoes and bag on the floor and head to the chair. Frank felt disgusted for some seconds. He loved cleanliness but Aly was nothing like that.

“Take your shoes and bag to the room. Don’t litter it everywhere. It’s dirty” he said.

“I will do it later. I’m just tired” she said.

“Do it now! Laura knows what I like and do not like, you also need to learn to know what I like and dislike” he said, yelling at her.

“Fine! I’ll pick it up. Don’t just compare me to Laura. At least, I didn’t cheat on you” she said and grabbed her shoes and bag and ran up the stairs. Frank sighed deeply and walked up the stairs also. He remembered seeing Laura at the court earlier, the look on her face. Her beauty was still stuck in his memory. He couldn’t even imagine that she would end up with the bar attendant. For some reason, he wished he had just forgiven her.

He shook the thought off his head and entered into his room.

Laura was arranging her bed while Tyler stood, staring out of the window.

“Hey!” She called out. He turned and gazed at her.

“You should go and take a shower. I’ll get your clothes out” she said.

“You don’t have to. Just tell me where it is and I’ll look for it” he replied.

She snorted and pointed towards the left wardrobe. He walked towards it and grabbed the dress.

Laura watched as he picked a matching outfit. Even if he was just a bar attendant and driver, he still has a perfect dress sense.

“Listen to me…” Laura’s voice made him turn again.

“You won’t be working in the club anymore” she said. He frowned.

“Why?” He asked.

“You don’t have to. You are married to me. After three months, you can go back to your work. I can’t let my husband work as a bar attendant” she said. Tyler sighed deeply. He knew his life was in the hand of this possessive woman.

“Sure” he said and closed the wardrobe. He walked into the bathroom and locked the door behind.

Laura sat on the bed and leaned her head on her palm. She was still very well thinking about Aly’s betrayal. It was something she never expected. They’ve been friends since childhood but this was how everything ended.

“I wish them whatever they wish themselves” she murmured. She has moved on with her life already. No going back.

She got distracted when she got a call from her secretary.

“Hey Mark” she greeted.

“I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it to your wedding sweetheart, I was so busy” he said. Mark was a crossdresser. He believes he was a girl and always acts like one. His appearance and identity doesn’t affect Laura at all. He sometimes take some of Laura’s dress whenever he comes around.

“It’s fine. I’ll be at work tomorrow. Prepare the necessary documents and also the contracts I couldn’t check the last time”

“Sure darling. See you tomorrow. My regards to Frank” he said. Laura disconnected the call and gave a loud sigh. Everyone close to her knew that she was getting married to Frank. What would she say happened to them? That she cheated on him and wedding was called off?

Sound so stupid!

“Lunch is served!!” Katie’s loud voice was heard from the kitchen.

Laura hurriedly left the room. She went to the kitchen where Katie was taking the meals to the dinning table.

“What can I help you with?” She asked. Katie shot her older sister a hard glare and stared at the kitchen door to see if anyone was coming.

“What happened between you and Frank?” She asked.

Laura heard the question. Of course, her sister wasn’t foolish.

“What do you mean?” Laura asked, trying to cover it up.

“Of course, you know what I mean. I know that man in your room is not Frank. Is his real name even Tyler?” Katie asked.

“Shh! Bring your voice down. Mom shouldn’t find out that the man in my room isn’t the one I’m supposed to get married to” she said and lowered her gaze.

“Tell me, what happened?” Katie asked her sister.

“I don’t know. I went to the club and was drunk because Aly convinced me to drink. I woke up the next morning to find myself in an hotel room, naked. I accidentally spent the night with the man in my room. I forced him to get married to me”

Katie snorted.

“Your story is sounding like stuff that happen in movies. But you gotta be careful, mom’s super suspicious of him. He doesn’t look like the picture you sent to her” Katie said and took the last plate to the dining table. Laura sighed in frustration.

Everyone had their lunch peacefully. Laura didn’t enjoy the way her mother kept on staring at Tyler.

“Why are you two still here? Aren’t you supposed to move to his mansion?” Her mother asked.

“I know. His…his um…” Laura thought of a lie.

“His company is bankrupted for the meantime, so his house is in collateral. He’ll get it in two weeks time then we’ll leave to his mansion” she said. Mrs Smith smiled and touched her food with her cutleries.

“And your cars?” She asked.

“Everything mom. Everything!” she said. Tyler swallowed hard. He never thought his new wife could lie on his behalf.

“Oh, that’s bad” she murmured and started eating her food. Katie exchanged glances with her sister and shook her head.

“She’s definitely going to find out sooner or later” Laura thought to herself. She raised her head and exchanged glances with Tyler.

Frank has been working since he came back from his work. It was night already and he was starving. He dropped his laptop on the bed and walked down the stairs to check on his new wife and what she was cooking.

He stopped halfway seeing the sitting room was littered. Ketchup on the center rug, pizza pack on the table, some where even on the floor. There was empty can of soda everywhere.

“What in the actual f*ck is this?!” He yelled. Aly who was halfway asleep sprung up and scratched the back of her head. She stretched her body with a frown on her face. Frank’s voice sent shivers down her spine.

“I was hungry so I ordered some pizza and fries. Sorry, I didn’t leave any for you”

“Can’t you keep the house clean? At least, for once!” He yelled.

“Fine, I’m sorry. I’ll clean it now” she said and started walking around the sitting room. She doesn’t know what to do first. Frank slapped his forehead and walked back to his room. He had no idea what type of wife he has just gotten married to. He agreed to this so he could teach Laura a lesson. He stared at his phone, wondering if he should call Laura. He just wanted to hear her voice and he’ll be calm. No! He won’t stoop so low to call her.

He was having a double mind.

“No! I’ll call her tomorrow” he said and continued working.

Mrs Smith was in her room, zooming in and out of the picture Laura sent to her. A picture of Frank.

“This isn’t Tyler. He is the man Aly got married to earlier. Am I day dreaming?” She quickly went to Google and searched for Frank. A lot of Frank came out but he was among.

After checking and comparing, Mrs Smith bang her hand on the table.

“Who is that hypocrite my daughter got married to?” She asked and wanted to leave the room but Katie stopped her.

“Mom? It’s late already. Where are you off to?” She asked.

“I need to see your sister. I have no idea who she just got married to. All I know is that that man is not Frank” she said and wanted to leave Katie pulled her back.

“Mom, you can talk to her tomorrow. She must be asleep. She went through a lot today already”

“No! Let go of me!” Mrs Smith shoved her daughter aside and found her way to Laura’s room.

She raised her hand and banged the door hard.

“Laura! Come out now!” She yelled. Laura was half asleep on the bed. Even Tyler who was sleeping on the couch woke up. They exchanged glances and stood up. She was about to open the door. Tyler quickly hid what he was using to sleep on the couch and sat on the bed. Laura smirked.

“He’s wise after all” she thought as she opened the door. Her mother pushed her into the room.

“Argh” Laura grunted. She saw Katie behind her. The look on Katie’s face already tells that her mother know the truth already.

“Mom?” She called out. Without hesitation, Mrs Smith slapped her daughter across the face.

“Who did you just get married to? That man isn’t frank! Who is he?!” She yelled. Laura held her cheek in pain as tears ran down her cheek.
