Chapter 5 5

Carter was very good-looking, to say that he looks like a demigod, will be justified. Minus his fearful appearance and tattoos, his grammatical expression was very coherent and he talks like someone who has a level of tuition. Wanting to know whether he could be of help to her in her quest for the right to take back her heritage, she gently came down from the brick that she was sitting on while walking behind Carter slowly to stop him.

"Hello, please stop I need to take with you", she muttered but Carter wanting for her to understand the significance of respect, kept on walking.

Baker could not take the pain from her feet anymore and going down to the ground, she remained on the surface feeling weak out of exhaustion.

Yes, the night has been one hectic one for her, and there she was about to make a terrible proposal to someone she had just met that night.

Not being able to hear Baker's voice again, Carter stopped for a while thinking that she had given up and had finally decided to be mature, but when he turned over and saw her surfing down and breathing hard, he rushed back to her with the speed of light.

" Wake up girl, open your eyes", Carter said but Baker was too weak so with her eyes opened she looked at him with tears in her eyes and said,

"Marry me please".

Carter was in a state of shock after listening to what she had just requested and before he could say a word, Baker had passed out again. That was the second time she was passing out that night.

Carter could not help but wonder why she will say something like that, but being convinced that there was more to it, he decided to carry her back to his house.

" Have you succeeded in getting in touch with her?", Mr. McBright interrogated but no one in the house could relate to anything. He was feeling sorry for all the things he had said and wished that there was a way for him to take them back.

"You all should keep on calling her phone until she finally picks up your calls", he gave an order and returned to his room.

Carter was back in his house with Baker and she was still unconscious. Courtney and her friends were still covering around Carter's house and he gave them a threatening stare telling them to back off.

" I can not understand why Carter will be protecting that girl if he doesn't have anything to do with her", Courtney spoke out and from her tone, one could tell that she was very mad at him.

"Maybe it is because she is rich", one of her friends said and her words got Courtney angrier that she always picked up a bottle and smashed it on her head.

" You all should listen to me right now, Carter is my love, and no one can take him away from me", she yelled out.

Carter had laid Baker on his bed and without wanting to wake her up, he knew that he needed to clean up her wounds and take off her clothes since they had been dirtied and filled with sweat. Putting up the heater with some water in it, he head out again but this time, it was to unlock her car to find anything tangible about her.

Picking up her handbag and her phone, Carter could feel the eyes that were on him and they felt like he had chosen a woman over them but he alone knew what he was doing. His concern for Baker was above human understanding and he was aware of the fact that he had to do everything in his power for her to get back to her home.

Branson was already asleep, by the time that he had checked out on him, and letting out a while at how braced his brother was growing up to be, he had returned into the kitchen to pour out the water in a bowl since as he had listened to fo the signal from the hater, an indication that the water was hot enough.

Entering inside his room, he thought of going through her phone or bag to know her name or to find out her address to contact someone in her family, but when he activated her phone, the uncountable missed calls on the screen of her phone was very alarming.

It made him wonder who she was and why she was having a lot of calls. Opening her bag, Carter found some access cards to the McBright group of companies, as well as the hotels and other games of enterprises on it.

"She is the daughter of the famous businessman Mr. McBright?", Carter murmured while putting up with a near look at her as she laid on his bed.

Windering why she will want to commit suicide with all the riches that her father was having, that was a question that needs an answer and only she could beat answer to that.

Taking some cold water in his hands and pouring it on Bakers' face, he wanted her to be fully awake before he could do anything to her legs. Before he could wake her up, he stops there for some minutes, not being able to understand how one person will have everything alone.

Baker was very gorgeous even in her sleep and Carter could not help but admire her. He sprinkled some water on her and she moved her face immediately. The bandage on her head had moved a little from her gas but he was going to fix all that soon enough. Nothing her opening and eyes and looking around, she used the edges of her hands to take herself up on the be but Carter watching her do that, moved closer to her, helping her back to sit well against the wall with a pillow fixed on to it.

" Thank you for not leaving me back there", Baker growled at the sight of Carter.
