Chapter 2 Kimberly Lex

Kimberly Lex had just graduated from medical school after all the struggles and was posted to work at the central hospital.

She doesn't t do much yet, just follows the senior doctor and observes, preparing for her evaluation.

Though she's bummed about the fact that she cannot take care of a patient yet, it still feels good to be referred to as a doctor and to wear a long-sleeved coat.

"Dr. Kim"

She immediately rushed over to the doctor and nurse who seemed to be relaying a message to him

"Dr. Kim, I have a patient waiting in the consultant room and I need you to check on him, I'd have done it myself, but I have an emergency to take care of" He requested

Of course sir!

"Follow me doctor" The nurse addressed Kimberly, her heart swelled with pride at the title as she walked behind her to the consultant room.

Sounds of Heels clicking against the pristine hospital floors as she followed the nurse in front of her, we came to a stop in front of a room with double doors, the words "room 2B" were boldly imprinted on the door.

The nurse pushed the door open and she walked in.

The hospital room had four beds, one occupied and three empty. She walked towards the only occupied bed.

A handsome young man with long dirty blonde hair that fell right above his eyes, with a chiseled jawline and midnight blue eyes, he looked to be around the same age as her brother, she smiled warmly at him

"Hey, I'm Dr. Kimberly, what seems to be the problem?" she asked, adjusting her glasses a little, out of habit.

"I hurt my wrist while playing basketball" He replied looking up at her

"you're gorgeous Doctor" He spoke out of nowhere

"Thank you, and you're quite charming, you remind me of my brother, he's also a flatterer like you" she smiled at him while accessing his wrist

"Lucky for you, there are no serious damages, little pain relievers, and balm, and you'll be good to go"

"Thank you, Dr. Kim-"

"Leo! What happened" A voice barked from behind then, she jumped, startled by the sound.

Standing before her was the one and only Wayde Patino.

One of the richest bachelors in the country, she could not believe she was seeing him in person. Standing before her was one of the most influential and powerful people alive. The camera did not do him justice from the photos and videos she had seen of him on the internet or on TV.

Looking directly at him in person was different, he looked so ethereal, with his soft almost feminine features, if not for the scowl that adorned his pretty pink lips, he could pass off as adorable, his jet black hair slicked back exposing his forehead.

The surrounding aura portrayed danger and fear, unlike his facial features.

"I'm fine, I just hurt my wrist and the nice doctor is helping me out" The boy explained, trying to calm the older man down.

Kimberly noticed that the rather young-looking male that followed the CEO into the hospital room and was currently standing at a corner had a gun fastened to his belt, her eyebrows furrowed, and she frowned

"I told you to be careful! You know-" Wayde started but was cut off by the silk voice coming from behind him.

"Excuse me, sir, you're not allowed to possess firearms in the hospital building to ensure the safety of patients and medical workers" she stated, her voice small but determined

This seems to have caught the attention of Wayde and the Young men in the room

"Really, now" The offender mused, clearly amused by the situation

"Yes sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave" she continued, staring directly at him

"I have been to this hospital countless times, but never have I been told to leave or take out my gun"

Mr. Wayde Patino was a massive donor to the hospital and for that, he and his men received special treatment, but Kimberly being new was not aware of this.

"You must be new here" The younger continued, "aren't you aware of-"

"Marcus" Wayde's voice boomed and the younger went silent

He turned to look at her, and she stared back at him. A brief moment of silence passed.

Wayde stared at the unfamiliar and stunning face. Standing before him was a petite, black-haired angel with alluring brown eyes and full, luscious lips. He had never seen this doctor before, nor had he seen a lady so beautiful. Who is she? And most importantly, why was she attending to his brother when he only trusted one doctor to treat him, his family, and his men, and that was the head doctor. A scowl slowly etched on his face.

"Who are you? Why the hell are you in charge of my brother when I don't know who the fuck you are? Where's doctor king? " He rudely demanded.

She was taken aback by his attitude as the media has always portrayed him to be a humble and polite guy, well, guess they lied.

"I'm Dr. Kimberly, and I was assigned to this patient" she spoke out with a little more attitude than intended.

This did not go unnoticed by Mr. Patino as he turned his entire body towards her and glared, his Aura gave me goosebumps.

She flinched, and her knees trembled from the look he was giving me

"Sir" Kimberly added, eyes darting around the room for a way of escape

Her suffering and dilemma ended when the door flew open, and she was crushed in a warm embrace.

Her savior seems not to have noticed the audience in the room, but they noticed him. Especially the young man lying on the hospital bed with a sprained wrist.

One look at the intruder and you could tell his relationship with the beautiful doctor, they were both blessed with the perfect genes. His eyes lingered on the young male hugging the petite doctor, he looked like an Adonis God, with pink hair tousled to the side, he had deep brown eyes like the doctor and pink full heart-shaped lips. From the outline of the skinny jeans he wore, Leo could see he had powerful thighs that he wanted to choke him.

Kimberly was released from Xavier's death hold, and he seemed to have finally noticed the other people in the room with him, his eyes wandered around the faces in the room and rested on one certain dirty blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty lying on the hospital bed, the patient turned red as his eyes met those of Xavier, and he turned away.

The door bursts open again to reveal the head doctor, Dr. king

"I'm so sorry sir, I didn't know Mr. Patino was the patient before I sent her in" He rushed out an apology before turning to her "Dr. Kim, you can leave now" He requested, offering them a smile.

"Of course sir, Anything to get away from this Asshole" she answered, murmuring the last part of her statement.

She turned around with Xavier trailing behind her as they proceeded to exit the room.

Unknowing to her, the billionaire standing a few feet away from her had heard her.

"What did you say, "He growled out, stalking toward her

Xavier immediately pushed her behind him and stood in front of her.

He had always been protective of his big sister and continued to do so even when the man standing before him made his skin crawl and his stomach tighten in fear

"I'm truly sorry, sir! I apologize!" she immediately apologized and dragged herself along with Xavier out of the hospital room.

"I'm also sorry sir, I'll check up on Leo right away" The head doctor apologized once again and migrated to Leo's bedside.

However, the handsome bachelor was still staring at the door, he was intrigued by the beautiful doctor, her being bratty but also submissive stirred something in him, and he was determined to know more, not everyone can capture the attention of Wayde Patino on the first meeting, but Dr. Kim had done it.

"Xavier, what are you doing here?" Kimberly interrogated her younger after they had regained their composure.

"I needed the key is, but I met the tea instead" He joked, earning a slap on the arm as she let out a laugh

"No cap though, Mr. Wayde's younger brother is a fine piece of meat, I see why he keeps him from the public's eye. If his brother wasn't so intimidating, I'd probably give it a try, but I feel like I'd be murdered before I throw the first pickup line. But the things I could do to him though, those lips would look good on-"

She clamped her hands over his naughty lips "calm your horny self down, here's the key, get going you're causing a disruption in my workplace" she scolded him while handing him the key.

"How am I causing a disruption? " He exclaimed incredulously.

"Take a look around, pretty boy" she stated

He scanned his eyes around the hallway, every nurse, patient, and doctor both male and female was eyeing him, ready to pounce on him.

He let out a deep chuckle, and I could swear the patient being wheeled out by a nurse fainted.

"Alright I'll be off now" He spoke, hugging her once more

"Wait, what happened to your keys?" she asked.

"Oh wait you're right, I do have my keys, and they're right here in my pocket" He released her and pulled his out of his pants pocket with a toothy grin.

"You little piece of-"

"Alright, bye, I'll be off now! Love you!" He shouted while taking large strides out towards the hospital exit, which soon turned to full-on sprints.

She walked in the opposite direction as it was time for her lunch break

"Kimberly!" she looked to see her colleague and friend rushing towards her.

"I assume you're going for lunch, so let's go together! " Jennie exclaimed, linking their arms together.

They were now sitting face to face at a café near the hospital. Jennie had refused to settle for the bland food served in the hospital cafeteria. Which led to them sitting in the small cafeteria with two Mediterranean burgers placed in front of them, they immediately dug in to satisfy their hunger.

"Let's go to the club tomorrow" Jennie suggested, taking a sip from her tea

"Um... Why? " Kimberly asked, shifting uncomfortably in her seat.

" No particular reason, just to live life "Jennie shrugged

"I don't feel like it" she responded, sipping from her tea

"See, now we have to go to the club" She exclaimed, hitting the table

"Again, why? " she asked.

"You need to get laid! One look at you and I can tell you haven't gotten the D for a long time now, we have to fix that!" She rasped out!

"It's that obvious?" Kimberly asked suddenly feeling self-conscious.

"So it's true! I suspected it, but you just confirmed it. I guess I'm not surprised" Jennie confessed, scrutinizing her.

"I know it's embarrassing, but I had always been so busy that I didn't think much about that part of my life, I always had to work to provide for myself and Xavier, but now I have my certificate and a suitable job, so I think it's time to fix that aspect" She explained

That was partly the truth, any relationship Kimberly's had in the past never satisfied her. She always waited for someone special and her preferences in the bedroom were considered weird by all her past partners, so she just gave up on dating in total.

"Okay, fine, I'll go with you" she succumbed, feeling uncomfortable by the judgmental stare Jennie gave her

"Yes. I'll come over to get you ready, we'll try to hide all your body fat, I'll get you a sexy outfit okay" She squealed excitedly.

She just nodded at her and focused on her food once more

Kimberly was very insecure about her body, and that was no secret to the people close to her. Xavier always told her there's nothing wrong with her, and how she looked absolutely beautiful but when she's with Jennie, she intentionally reminds her of Every single flaw of hers and suggests ways to fix them. Xavier hated the fact that Kimberly hung out with her, but she was her closest friend, and she just wants what was best for her.
