Chapter 9 The Nightmare

Amayra:

That man kept dragging me towards darker corner. The sun had already set.

So, when he dragged me to the corner, I could hardly see anything.

The man pushed me roughly, which caused my head to hit the wall.

Therefore, I started to feel dizzy.

Before I could come to my senses, that man came to me and started to touch me inappropriately.

I started to protest with my all might.

My protest may have irritated that man that he slapped me on my face. I felt a stinging pain on my left cheek.

But I still continued to protest. I kneed him between his legs. He bowed down in pain, which causes him to make some distance between us.

I started to run. But that man grabbed me ankle and let me fell on the ground.

The scratches were occurred on my knees and elbows due to this impact and I felt pain all over my body.

That man came over me and gripped my both hands in his one hand.

He slapped me continuously on my both cheeks. I tasted the metallic taste of blood in my mouth.

Due to slaps, I started to feel dizzy and had next to no power to protest.

He saw that I could no longer protest so he started to touch me again. I felt nauseous.

I tried to protest and shout but my all efforts futile. Only low whimpers can be heard.

My eyes and face were full of tears. I couldn't believe that this was happening with me.

I was in despair. But I didn't want to go down without fight.

So, when that person started my face with his hand. I bit his fingers hard. That person shouted very loudly. I bit so hard that I started to taste his blood. But still I didn't let his fingers go.

He left my hands from his grip and slapped me hard on my face. Because of which my face turned to one side and Due to which, I had to leave his fingers.

That man raised his hand again to hit me. I closed my eyes waiting for the anticipated pain. But it never came.

In fact, I heard man growled in pain.

I opened my eyes. I was shocked what I have seen was under statement.

I saw Karan holding man's hand from which he was going to hit me. He was not holding but actually twisting it.

He lifted the man from me and punched him on his face. The man staggered and fall on the floor.

I stand up from ground. Because of pain, my movements were very slow.

Meanwhile, fighting they reached there, where there was dim light.

When I reached there, I saw Karan was holding that man's neck against the wall.

His eyes were bloodshot like a beast. He was pinching man's neck too hard which unable him to breath normally. He started to choke as he was about to die.

I was afraid that if man die then it can be troublesome for Karan. I hurriedly go to him and held his arm.

"Karan, leave him. If you killed him then you will go to the jail". I plead to him.

But he was not ready to listen to me as he pinched his neck harder. "I don't care. How dare he to touch you".

"Karan please, call the police and arrest him. But don't kill him. I don't want you to ruin your future". I said as I don't want him to go to jail.

But he again didn't listen to me.

Then I said the statement which I sure made impact on him.

"Karan, please I don't want you to leave me alone. I don't want to live without you". Then I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and opened my eyes again.

"I LOVE YOU "I said almost in whisper. Three words which I have never said was spoken.

Karan looked at my tears-stricken face and I looked at him.

The man fell on the ground as Karan loosened his grip around his neck. He started to cough violently.

When he coughed, we looked at him. Karan grabbed him by his collar and started to ask.

"Who are you? And .." he was in middle of the statement, when out of nowhere that man took the knife and made a scratch on his left arm.

"Karan" I shouted.

Because of this, his grip on man loosened again and that man ran away.

I held his arm and looked at him. He was frowning. May be because of pain.

Then, he looked at me.

His eyes soften after looking at my dishevel state. My hairs were scattered all over my face and shoulders.

He removed hairs from my face and saw the bruises on my cheeks.

He carefully wiped my tears and hugged me.

I hugged him back and cried hard on his chest. He started to pat my back until I cried.

When I finally calm down, he looked at me again. He fisted his hands, closed his eyes and took a deep breath again and again.

Then he opened his eyes, held my shoulder.

"Let's go, you can stay in my apartment for today." He said and I looked at him confusingly.

Why he wanted me to live in his apartment instead of sending me back to my room.

Probably, Karan saw the confusion in my eyes so he said," Shruti and Mayra may get worried after looking your state. You can tell them but after some rest. Let's go. Then we will call them to inform about your stay in my apartment".

I nodded. I also don't want to be worried unnecessarily.

Most importantly, I wanted to forget this like a nightmare so I don't want anyone to know about this.

Who knows that telling no one could be so harmful for me in future.
