Nikolas' back story

I never knew how bad of a man my father was until I got older. My mom always sheltered me from all of this until she died. I have wondered if my father killed her. He was a monster.

What kind of person kidnaps their own grandchild? Niko doesn't belong here in all this mess. He's a good guy. He tries to protect me. It's hard to do when your father is in the mafia.

I always wish he would be caught. Then Niko, Noah, and I could be free. I doubt that will ever happen. Now he has two girls here. I make sure they have food because my father wont.

Niko stays away from them because he was the one that was forced to kidnap them. I like them they are nice to me. Most people look at me and think I am a monster like my father.

I have no friends. I have never had a girlfriend. At seventeen I should be in school, but my father won't allow it. I guess it doesn't help that I have long hair and tattoos. I am just me.

If they would get to know me, they would see that I am a nice guy. I will never get the chance to prove myself. I sit in my room reading, and learning. I have so many dreams.

Niko came in my room and told me tomorrow I was leaving with Noah, Tia, and Layla. I asked him where he was going to be, and he said he would come after us to make sure we weren't followed.

I had a bad feeling about all of this. I didn't want my brother to give his life for my freedom. I tossed and turned all night I couldn't sleep. I heard my father leave early. I can't believe he trusted us to be here alone.

Once my father was gone Niko came in with Noah. We got the girls and he dropped us off a town over at a gas station then made a phone call. I wondered if he was calling Derek. I hoped Derek didn't hate us for this.

Niko drove away, and I was scared that would be the last time I ever saw my brother. Another car pulled up, and Layla cried she was so happy. I looked at Derek, and I knew he recognized me. He didn't say anything just got us all in the car and took off.

What was Niko thinking sending me with them? I was going to get arrested and spend the rest of my life behind bars. I deserve this. I was like my father. I would always be known as the villain because of who my family is.
