Chapter 6 Spare Me

"I'm really hungry. ." I whispered desperately because honestly, it's been a while since we started walking here in the middle of the dark forest but we cannot still find even the mere trace of where to go out here. I also think it will be morning soon because of the faint light of the sun's rays in the sky, but it's still quite dark that's why I am holding on to the arm of the guardian angel with me.

"We'll find you something to eat later." I pouted my lips. When is that happening though? I'm really really hungry right now, I just wanted to throw a tantrums like a little kid and just roll on the ground repeatedly like crazy. Damn.

"What are we really doing here, anyway? Ouch!" My feet got trampled upon one of the big roots of the large trees scattered around, I almost stumble on to the ground if Hwang In Yeop oppa is not that fast enough to stop me from falling face first.

"Are you alright?" He asked that with a freaking poker face on but with a sweet freaking tone on his voice. Argh. This odd creature.

"What do you think?" I sarcastically asked him back.

He was maybe taken aback by that, because his jaw clenched hardly while he's looking down at me. "May I remind you that you are the one who wanted to go back in time, Savana? I just did what you wanted."

"So, you're mad now? May I remind you that, I was just also kidding a while ago." I averted my gazes at him and realized something. "Wait a second, if you're that mad at me, why did you still granted my lame joke?"

I nodded when he took his time to answer me back. "Ohh, maybe I know your freaking reason? You did this because you wanted to teach me a freaking lesson! Wow. Just wow!" I let go of my hold on one of his arm.

"Don't you freaking worry. I can handle myself. Because, I just don't know if you're really telling me the truth, or not. Maybe, it's still year twenty twenty one, and not nineteen ninety seven! I don't even know your name, for Pete's sake! So, why would I really trust you in the first place, right?"

After that, I walked out from him. Yes, I really have the guts to do that. Ha!

But, when I didn't heard his footsteps following me, that's the time my rage subsided and vanished into thin air. I looked back to where I came from but I cannot find even the silhouette of Hwang In Yeop oppa, the guardian angel, to where he was standing a while ago.

"Where are you, oppa?" The defeaning silence of my surroundings answered me. My whole body trembled upon feeling the cold breeze around me, too. Aside, from the very fact that I am all alone now in the middle of that dark forest.

I tried to walked back to where I came from. "Oppa! Where are you? I'm here. Hello?" Argh. Why do I feel like we're playing some sort of a game like hide and seek?

The only sound I can hear from there aside from my heavy breathing and my voice calling that damn guardian angel are the dried leaves I am stepping upon every move I made while still looking for that jerk.

What if some scary ghosts appear in front of me? Like, the ones in the movies that crawl slowly and creepily at you first, before finally launching at you so suddenly to give you a heart attack?

Seconds later, I accidentally bumped at something or someone. And, because I am really really scared right now, I shouted at the top of my lungs.

"Argh!" I immediately took a glance at what or whom I bumped into, and when I saw a very horrifying looking old man carrying a sack on his back and some coconuts on his other hand, I swear I really wanted to run away right at that moment. I also stumbled on the ground behind me because of the panic that attacked me a while ago.

"What are you doing here in the middle of the forest? Are you lost, little miss?" My tears threatened to burst upon hearing that question from the old man in front of me. "Why are you crying? Did something bad happen to you?"

I stuttered my own words. "I. . I just cannot find. . my friend. ." The old man smiled at me but it brought a very chilling sensation in my back.

"Is that so? Do you want to come with me in my little hut somewhere near here instead? I have blankets and soft bedsheets there so that you can take a rest for the meantime. You look like you really needed it."

My lips contorted for a frown because rest is the last thing I had in my mind right now. Especially, when this old scary man is the one who is offering it to me. I'm not being a judgmental person, but he kinda looks like he's not just trustworthy enough for me to go with him anywhere he wanted.

Where is that freaking guardian angel when I needed him the most?

I stood up and simply scratched my head while thinking how to get away from this old man. "It's fine, sir. I know the way out of here. I will be home in no time, don't you worry. Thank you." I turned my back at him, and slowly walked away from there. I am quietly sensing if the scary old man will follow me afterwards.

And, when I looked back at the old man, I was startled to see that he's really and actually following behind me. I took that as a sign to run very fast just to get away from him while my tears finally burst out.

"Help! Help me!" And, while running and shouting like crazy, I really proved that I am such an unlucky person when my feet got trampled upon again at a large root of a tree I am passing by.

I am hearing the heavy breathings of the old man that's chasing me, but even though I still want to run for my life, I cannot especially right now when my feet is writhing in pain like this.

"Miss, why did you freaking run?" When the old man finally got closer to me, all I did is to lower my head and closed my eyes as if it will protect me that way from whatever he's about to do to me.

"Please. Spare me, sir. I am still young, I'm still not ready to die yet. Not like this." Instead of hearing some villainous laugh from him, I heard a laugh that's full of joy, like he just heard something so funny and so out of this world. That's why I didn't get the chance to stop myself from looking up at him.
