Chapter 9 SECRETLY MEETING WITH THE COMMISSIONER

"Sir, most of these teenagers are kids that ran away from home." Uche came into Osas office with a file in his hand. The police are working with full force and details ready to deal with any case. "Let me have that file, most of them were reported missing by their guardian months back. What is the youngsters turning into?" Osas flip through the documented information throughly.

Door to the office opens, "Sir, I'm fine now." Osas then rests his back well on the chair, "Anita, Uche sit down."

"Fine, thank goodness you are safe, narrate the situation what transpired at the hospital."

"There was an imposter, who passed the medical security, even the security placed at the ward door post, the funniest thing is that the imposter isn't faking the part of being a medical doctor, but he was under the control of an assassin, who has his wife and kids." Uche became furious, and Osas uses his hand to slam the table, "Who the heck is this assassin?"

"New names arises everytime, but I'm so sure this case is linking together," Anita added.

"Detective Uche and Anita I want you both to take full charge of the teenagers in our custody, just make sure you both notify their parents about them being in our custody."

Detective Osas smiled and stretch his fingers, "I'm actually letting these kids go, I will still have to question them."

"Yes sir, we will work on that."

Walking in the building, all afternoon the discussion was about the killer, Uche and Anita seems to be more interested in the case. Now Detective Osas team has been recognized as the leading team now, most time were willing to help.

"Detective sir, you got a delivery."

"Okay, let's me have it." A present was giving to him, while he was still in his office. The present was wrapped with wrapping paper for presents and a letter. Detective Osas opened the letter first and read through it, "What happened to Detective Anita, is just a warning and I'd want you to know that you can't escape from the Unchained murderer."

Immediately Osas read through the letter, he unwrapped the box and saw some clues inside, which also included a note, "Don't share with anyone, don't trust anyone." Detective Osas look into the present, he saw a tape and pictures of some hoodlums which some politicians use in carry out their dirty jobs.

Detective Osas phone rang, "Hello detective, do you love my present?"

"Who are you?"

"Who I'm isn't what we should be talking about right now, but let's say am your unidentified source." The call ended, Detective Osas was left thinking who this informant might be.

The detectives will visit home today, after having dinner together at a particular dinning spot in ikeja, they went their separate ways, "Just make sure you both make it to work early tomorrow alright" Osas told his subordinates.

Anita had already board a cab to her home, Uche's apartment is at a close distance from the dinner and the office, detective Osas already left them since they were not heading to the same direction.

Out of a parking spot, a black Van Honda Odyssey, drove out at the glimpse of Uche and two heafty guys wearing suit and a black face mask, came down from the van, grabbed Uche and push him towards the van, Uche trying his best to fight them couldn't overcome them, since he was facing two strong people. He was overpowered and was pushed into the van.

"You shouldn't have meddle in this case"

They kept on punching Uche and slapping him, roughly disarranged his clothes. And immediately they got to a place far from his apartment, he was thrown out of the van.

Detective Osas didn't really go home direct, he went to the office and to write down some clues, he did this so one can know he already had a leading evidence on the case. Then he head home, at his doorpost he saw a present, "Why I'm getting presents today, what might this be?" he bent down to take it and read through the note, "Be careful you might be next." He dropped the letter and unwrapped the present and he saw in a transparent nylon of a liquid substance that looked like blood and his picture with a hole in it located at the forehead.

The next day was really surprising immediately Uche stepped his foot into the base, his head was bandage and his his top of his nose plastered, so he wore a face cap. "Detective Uche what happened?" this was the question Osas asked immediately he sighted him.

"Come in to my office, Officer John please fetch me detective Anita."

Now, detective Osas and his two detectives were inside, detective fall the blindfold of his office window, then he locked the door from behind.

"Uche, tell us what happened, why are you in this mess?"

"After we had the dinner, so I did accompanied detective Anita to get a cab, after she did, since my apartment isn't that far from the location I decided to walk. I passed a parking spot then immediately, a black Honda Odyssey van turn on it light and drove to my direction, then two well built guys in suit and face mask came down and rough handled me into the van, I was given a serious beating inside the van, they kept on telling me that I shouldn't have meddle myself in the case. And I was pushed out of the van later on."

Detective Osas gave a deep sigh, "Who are these people, what are they trying hard to cover?"

"Just that same yesterday, I saw a present at my apartment's door post and a note. Can you guess what was inside?"

"A transparent nylon filled with animal blood and my picture in it with a hold on my forehead. With a note citing I might be next"

"I think we are fighting against many powerful people, even the commissioner know about this."

Detective Osas phone rings, "Look, it's the commissioner, I'm sure he already had about Uche's predicament."

"Morning sir, Detective Osas reporting sir."

"Osas, what's your current location, I need you and the other detective to meet me the spa."

"Sir, current location, base sir, roger that we will be there as soon as possible."

"Good, but please keep this between us."

Detective Osas ended the call, and he told his subordinates the order from the detective, then they went out immediately, "Officer John, please contact me if anything pop up, I'm going to the crime scene."

The detectives met with the commissioner at Ikeja City Mall the spa is located there.

"Uche, a quick info, what happened to you?"

"Sir, I was abducted and rough handled by some thugs." On hearing this the Commissioner look at Osas, "Detective Osas, I need you to put Charlie team to work any where you people are, they should be like your shadow, no one must know about them, also act like you don't know they are there. Osas I had kept an eye on you since the last incident that happened to you and Anita. I got a report saying you received a kind of present on your door post. I just want you all to be very careful, the IGP is willing to support us, and don't forget they are trying to get your attention away from Alhaji Dansa Faruq case."

"Sir, we had never removed our attention from the case, we have people working underground and reporting to us quietly." Osas responded. "That nice," the commissioner responded.

"Osas, I still want you to do a low investigation on Tolu Ayo, let me know what's he is up now, I haven't heard much from his angle unlike before. Is that understood."

"Yes sir."

The commissioner came close to Osas and hugged him, wisphers in his ear, "Don't opened it here, but when you get to your car," he then shake his hand and gave him a paper, he went on to shake Anita and Uche. See you guys later, "If you need access to any file to work on this case, you will be granted permission."

"Thank you sir" the detectives responded.

Inside the car, detective Osas opened the paper this time around it was Anita driving, "This is a number meant for only you and your team to contact me it a burner phone. I'm sensing my office and phone is already bugged, I have had another person delivering the burner phone to you as part of the files you will need."

"Guys, quick info, the commissioner has given us a way to get him, he believes that his phone and his office had been bugged and we will contact him in secret."

Anita was focused on the road, but her attention was on the information detective was passing, "Does that mean, the people in the police force are involved in this case?"

Uche then gave a reply, "That's how we see it now."

"These two bikes had been stalking us since we left the base to the spa."

Anita increase the speed of car, going forward she drove to a spot when the traffic light indicated red, which made them wait. Then the bikes came to their sides and waited too, now till was time to move, the bikers threw eggs to the windscreen and drove away.
