Chapter 4 Nostalgia

"Kai Kun wait" Suzuki San shouted after seeing me sprinting towards the door.

"You forgot your...... Where did he go?"

"He got an important call maybe" Ichika San replied for saving my ass.

"But I didn't hear any phone call"

Ichika San could do anything but there is still one thing she could not do right that is making excuses. She sweated with fear, she was in a complete state of panic.

"She didn't mean phone call she meant nature's call" Itsuki replied instantly and saved both of our asses with the weirdest excuse anyone can come up with.

"Hey by the way Ichika San and I am going to the cafeteria, why don't you join us?"

"Well okay it's not like I have something important to do, is Kai Kun joining us?

"No, maybe he will head home after that"

Meanwhile, I was finding a shop to buy some Amezaiku for obachan. I went to a shop; they gave the sweet inside a green bag. while walking towards her house I was wondering what should I say to her if she sees me after so many years, is taking Amezaiku okay for her or does she like something else, I was super excited about going to her but I am nervous for one thing that what if she too will not able to recognize me. I was in the same street where her house was, it's been years since last I came here, it felt nostalgic. When I look back, I could see me playing here with Suzuki San and Itsuki.

After arriving at her house, it was the same as it was eight years ago, looking at it after so many years made me emotional but now that I am going to meet her, tell her that I have become strong and always missed her. I was so nervous when I raised my hand for pressing the bell button I could feel the sweat forming in my hands, but I gathered all the courage and pressed the bell.

[After a half minute door opened]

"Hello...! Obacha......."

The lady who opens the door was not Obachan she was someone else, a lady I have never seen before.

"I .... I......am...sorry I think I got the wrong house" I bowed to her and sprinted out of the house.

"Hey kid... wait.........are you......" the lady shouted something but I wasn't able to hear that as I was running away from the house.

I was so embarrassed after that, but now I realize that maybe they sold her house and now they might live somewhere else. While I was going home depressed just thinking about how excited I was to meet obachan, it made me unhappy. As I entered my street and I noticed someone was standing outside my house. When I went more closer to my house, I realized that the person standing there was Suzuki San. What is she doing here?

"Suzuki San what are you doing here? Is there something I can do for you?"

"You are back, you were in a hurry back then you forgot your math's book, here it is"

"You could have given me the book tomorrow or you could give this book to Ichika San or Itsuki"

"I could but they said they have some important stuff to deal with so, they gave me your address"

[Important stuff huh. I could see them hiding behind the poles to spy on us]

"So, you should have given this to my mom"

"No one is home yet I guess"

"Would you like to come to my house then?"

"I am sorry but mom would be waiting for me it's already 7 pm, maybe some other day"

I wondered where she is living now after selling the house.

"Okay no problem I should walk you home then"

When we were walking together after so long, it reminds me of the day when we used to walk together to her home, we have changed a lot since that moment. We both are different people now. Maybe by walking her home she could recall me.

"By the way where are you living now? I mean where are you living?"

She told me the same address she was living in back then, she also said she is leaving with her mom now. This means the lady I met there was her mom I really can't go there now, if her mom saw me with her, she would think I am a stalker.

[I could see Ichika San and Itsuki following us by hiding behind the pole]

"Suzuki San I have some work too. could you walk home by yourself? It's kind of urgent, thanks for the book"

"Yaa, it's fine okay. Later"

"See you tomorrow"

But I really can't let her go home alone I was worried so, I too joined Ichika san and Itsuki and followed her pole by pole till she reaches home.

"Have you met obachan kai?"

"No, her mom opened the door so I thought the lady was someone else, Suzuki San and Obachan must have left the house and might be living somewhere else, practically I sprinted out from there too. So, I really can't go back there for a while now"

"Is it Amezaiku, oh I love it, can I, have it?" Ichika San asked, I could see her starvation.

"Yaa you guys can have it, this was for obachan but I was not able to meet her today so it is fine"

Ichika opened the box and she told me to hold it, then took Amezaiku in each hand and raise her hand towards our mouth.

"Ahhhhhhhh?" she smiled at us.

We both opened our mouths to have it and smiled back at her, I realize that these are the moment we are living in. We always chase behind the big things but the small and precious moments are also never coming back. The true meaning of friendship is someone who has your back, no matter what.

"Itsuki, don't you think something off"

"What do you mean?"

"She didn't know the way of her house. when we were following her, she kept looking the street for a minute or maybe I am thinking too much"

After arriving home late, I took a shower and laid on my bed for a while thinking about Suzuki San.

[phoned beeped]

It was a message: Ichika added Mayu Suzuki to the friends' group.

[My phoned beep again]

There was a notification this time which reads: Mayu Suzuki has requested you to be a friend

I smiled (I mean blushing to be specific) while looking at the phone and accepting her request.
