Chapter 6 Making Things Difficult For Her

The men were getting harsher and more insistent, and Tracey didn't know how to escape them.

But then, she heard a voice behind her say, "This woman... is mine tonight."

Tracey recognized the voice, and it left her completely frozen on the spot.

It was like a bolt of lightning, and her whole body went numb.

She had dreamt of that voice many, many times, so there was no way she would ever mistake it.

Even with her back to him, she knew it was Weston, but she didn't dare to turn around and face him.

"Who are you? Why are you meddling?" one of the men yelled. The light in the club was very dim, and he clearly didn't recognize Weston. If he did, he would never dare to fight with him. However, the moment the man swung his fist, Weston grabbed it.

The man took a deep breath, whined, and yelled, "Come and help me!"

Hearing his buddy, the other man tried to punch Weston too, but Weston dodged and kicked him instead.

After a few moments, Laura came with the security, who pulled away the two reckless men. "Mr. Xiao, why are you in the hall?" Laura asked Weston.

She hadn't expected to find him there, since he was usually in his private room.

Even though she had been working at Platinum Club for a long time, she had rarely interacted with him.

Despite that, she knew he was a man of few words. That was why it was even more surprising to find out that he was the one involved in a public fight. For a moment, Laura wondered if it was because of Tracey, but then she dismissed the idea.

"Laura, when did you start letting such scum into your club?" Weston asked with a faint smile on his lips.

"I'm really sorry, Mr. Xiao. It's my fault," Laura apologized. "How about this? I will pay your party's whole bill tonight," she suggested.

"You think I don't have enough money to pay for myself?" Weston asked with a cold and stern expression, his eyebrows raised.

"I didn't mean that. I..." Laura started to explain, but Weston ignored her. Instead, he turned toward Tracey. "What? I helped you, and you won't even say thank you?"

Confused, Laura turned as well and saw that he was talking to Tracey, who looked like she really didn't want to be there anymore.

Taking a few gazes at both Weston and Tracey, Laura realized that the two must know each other somehow.

Tracey, on the other hand, was still like a deer caught in the headlights. The club was still noisy, but to her, it seemed as if time had stopped completely. She could feel Weston's gaze so strongly.

"We see each other after a year, and you won't even greet me nicely?" Weston asked, sneering.

Tracey, however, didn't respond at all, so he turned to Laura. "Laura, you want to compensate me, don't you? Well then, let me have her for one night."

"Mr. Xiao..." Laura started, but there was nothing much she could really say. The whole situation was extremely embarrassing, and all she wanted to do was hide in some hole.

Any other hostess would welcome the opportunity to spend the night with Weston, but it was clear to Laura that Tracey didn't want to. And she didn't want to force her.

"Long time no see. Mr. Xiao, you have changed a lot," Tracey finally said. "When did you become so... desperate, as to take any woman you see?"

With that, she started walking towards him slowly. "But I'm afraid I will have to disappoint you. I don't sell my body."

As she walked toward him, Weston finally noticed her leg dragging behind her.

A year ago, she was able to walk and jump without any issues, so he couldn't understand what had happened to her.

"Your leg..." he said softly, unable to stop himself.

"It's all thanks to you," she replied with a chuckle. "I fell six months ago, and now I have a limp."

That was not the whole truth. She hadn't fallen; she had been pushed down the stairs.

Somehow, it seemed that Weston could sense that she was lying as well.

However, he couldn't let it show, so he said, "You deserve it."

At this, Tracey suddenly raised her head and looked him right in the eyes. It was the first time that she had really gotten a good look at him that night.

He was wearing a grey and blue shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to his wrists, and his face was still as handsome as she remembered. He was still the picture of elegance.

She couldn't help but feel bitter. While she had fallen into dust in the space of one year, Weston was still shining like the moon in the night sky.

It was unfair.

"Mr. Xiao, if there's nothing else, I have a guest waiting for me," she said, hoping that she would finally escape.

She wasn't that lucky though. As soon as she started walking away, Weston yelled, "Stop!"

To Weston, Tracey looked much thinner than before, and her fair and beautiful hands seemed to have become rough. In her white T-shirt and white pleated skirt, her waist was so thin that he could probably wrap his hand around it.

Slowly, his eyes darkened when he remembered that she had been out of prison for only a little more than a week.

It wasn't a long time, but she was already dressed like that now, seducing strangers.

"Guest? What guest?" he asked.

"Mr. Xiao, you know the answer," Tracey answered, frowning. She knew her dress made her occupation fairly obvious.

And she would definitely rather be with another man than with her ex-husband.

Slowly, fury and jealousy rose within Weston. He looked at Laura and said, "Do you know this woman... just got out of prison?

When did your nightclub become a shelter? Since when did you start hiring ex-convicts?" he asked.

"Weston, shame on you!" Tracey yelled at him. Her time in prison was something she would never be able to make peace with, and now he had dared to reveal it to everyone so publicly.

"Shame on me?" Weston repeated, smiling even more brightly. Walking closer to Tracey, he said, "Well, considering your past... I don't think I can even compare."

With that, he turned to Laura. "I'm not stepping into this club ever again if she keeps working here," he threatened, and Laura didn't know how to respond to that.

Weston was a diamond VIP, and he and his friends did bring a lot of money to the club, but she didn't think Tracey had done anything wrong at all.
