Chapter 7 Notorious Loser

"I didn't expect you would hit him. God, that was amazing!"

Nancy burst into laughter and patted Murray's shoulder as if she were a leader of a pack.

The way he kicked Gerald looked perfect and elegant. Even the leader of the Taekwondo club of her school wouldn't have thrown such an effortless kick.

"Of course. How would I be your brother-in-law if I am not awesome?" Murray grinned.

Nancy rolled her eyes. "Stop bragging.

You don't know anything. An adopted son-in-law shouldn't show off like this."

Nancy crossed her arms over her chest and sized him up.

Her brother-in-law was still the same, yet something was different about him.

She took a deep breath and pointed in the direction where Gerald had left.

"Do you know who he is?"

"Who is he?" Murray asked curiously.

"He is Gerald Lin, the only son of the president of the BD Group." Nancy sneered.

"Are you aware of the consequences of beating him?"

Murray shook his head.

"No."

Seeing the confused look on his face, Nancy felt that her brother-in-law wasn't as annoying as he used to be.

'I need to be nicer to him in the future after what he has done for me today, ' she thought.

"Well, BD Group is a security company with numerous martial artists. Now that you have beaten Gerald, you have to be cautious at all times. He has bodyguards who protect him round the clock. They might attack you for what you've done to him." Nancy sucked in a big breath and continued, "Gerald is the only son of the Lin family. Everyone loves him-they regard him as their priceless possession. Moreover, his maternal grandfather is the leader of an organization called Heaven Aqua."

Nancy looked at him intently, a mischievous look in her eyes.

"And then?"

Murray asked, arching his brows.

He found his shrewd sister-in-law quite interesting.

"What do you mean by then?" His response surprised Nancy.

People would normally freak out after hearing this, but Murray remained unusually calm.

"Aren't you afraid? You have to be careful and-"

Nancy wanted to add that he had to seek her protection from now on too. But before she could finish speaking, Murray's eyes suddenly widened in horror as if he had just realized something. He screamed, "Holy shit! I didn't know that he was a powerful guy. What do I do now?"

Nancy snorted. She knew it! Her brother-in-law was just pretending to be brave.

"You were bragging a while ago, but you're freaking out now.

Where did your courage and energy go?"

Murray chuckled.

"I didn't know that he belongs to a powerful family. You have to protect me from now on!"

He pursed his lips, suppressing his laughter. Acting in front of Nancy wasn't an easy task.

"All right, fine! I'll keep an eye on you. Don't worry." Nancy waved her hands in exasperation.

Although the Lin family was powerful, they paled in comparison to the Tang family. Only an ignorant fool like Sean would be easily tricked by her.

However, Gerald was the only son, and everyone of his family was protective of him. Assaulting him would still cause them trouble.

Murray couldn't help but laugh at Nancy's reaction. The woman behaved like a gang leader.

Just as he opened his mouth to say something, footsteps from the passage caught their attention.

Nancy and Murray turned around and saw several shirtless men approaching them. All of them had similar tattoos that revealed that they belonged to the same gang.

They were carrying weapons that she hadn't seen before. Their aggression with every step frightened Nancy.

She gulped and stepped back.

Were they Gerald's men?

Murray sneered. He shifted his stance and glared at the men. Had he known that Gerald belonged to a powerful family, he would have kicked him harder.

"Were you the ones who offended Mr. Lin?" asked a bald man as he glared at Nancy. The blood on Nancy's face drained in an instant.

"What... What do you want?" She panicked.

"Take her away!" The bald man waved his hand. Instantly, two men lunged forward to grab Nancy.

A fresh wave of fear engulfed her. She quickly stepped back and hid behind Murray.

"What the hell do you want? My brother-in-law is a strong man. He will beat you all to death."

It was too late for her to call for help.

Nancy knew that Gerald wouldn't hurt her, but he wouldn't forgive Sean for humiliating him in front of her.

She didn't want her family, especially Janice, to find out about the problem.

Murray stared at the armed men as a knowing smile stretched across his lips.

The bald man's focus shifted to Murray.

"So it was you who hurt Mr. Lin, huh?"

Murray was inconspicuous that the bald man didn't notice him until he saw Nancy hide behind him.

"Yes, it was me." Murray stepped forward, crossing his arms over his chest.

He looked like he wasn't afraid of anything.

The bald man frowned at the sight of Murray's reaction. He was an experienced fighter who had learned to read people's minds through their expressions and body language.

He didn't have any scruples about attacking a scared opponent. However, the audacious look on Murray's face made him shrink back. Their opponent looked stronger than he had imagined.

The bald man wondered if Murray was strong for real or if this was a facade to scare them.

However, the bald man had seen Gerald's injury. Murray had only kicked him once, but he had managed to break his ribs without damaging his internal organs.

The bald man looked Murray up and down.

'Is this man an experienced martial artist?'

"Do you know who we are?" he asked.

There was yet another possibility that didn't cross his mind until now: The man in front of them didn't know whom he had attacked.

If that were the case, he had nothing to be afraid of. People unaware of Gerald's identity wouldn't belong to a powerful family.

"Yes. Heaven Aqua, right?"

The shirtless men all gasped in shock when they heard Murray's nonchalant response.

The man in front of them remained unfazed despite knowing their identity.

"And you are?" The bald man arched an eyebrow and studied Murray's face

'Is he also a member of the underworld? Or does he belong to a wealthy family?'

However, he denied both possibilities because of Murray's humble look.

The man was dressed in a shabby outfit.

Moreover, people in the gangland would respect Gerald.

"I am Sean Chu," Murray answered arrogantly.

The shirtless men exchanged quizzical glances before turning to look at him.

'Who is Sean Chu?'

'Is he an influential man in H City?'

'Is there even a Chu family in H City?' Countless thoughts buzzed in their heads.

Nancy, on the other hand, held back her laughter. Her good-for-nothing brother-in-law seemed fascinating today.

"Don't be too complacent, Sean. Think of a way to get rid of him."

She still had a party to attend later and didn't want Sean to mess it up for her.

"Sean Chu?" One of the shirtless men wracked his brains as the name sounded familiar.

"Aren't you the son-in-law of the Tang family?"

Everyone instantly nodded in understanding.

After all, their opponent, Sean Chu, was a notorious loser in H City.
