"You don't know pain until you are staring at yourself in the mirror, with tears in your eyes, begging yourself to just hold on and be strong. That is pain!" - Word Porn
He tried to stand up so that he could do what he was told by Mrs Rubis before she had left. His knees shook with the weight of his body.
Korna almost fell down back on the floor but he supported himself with the stool that was a few inches away from him.
The hot tears that streamed down his face made him feel uncomfortable. The pain that he felt all over his body felt as if it was worsening.
He just wanted all of it to end for it was unbearable. He just wanted to be free from all of these that he was going through. He had had enough of this and all he wanted was to break free from this type of bondage and slavery.
His desire for being free was at the edge. Hr had tried to break free several times but he never managed in doing so.
"Oh God, please help me out". He prayed as more tears streamed down his cheeks.
He tried to stand up one more time to move towards the corner where all the cleaning stuffs were usually stored so that he would get over and done with whatever the lady of the house had told him to do.
He was to make a move when his knees gave into the weight of his body and he fell on the hard floor with a thud, this his head hit the floor hard that he fell into unconsciousness.
For once, the darkness that had engulfed him felt good, it felt safe and the pain in his body was less.

"He's out of danger now. You have nothing to worry about Mr and Mrs Rubis". He heard a distant voice instruct. "He's stable now but he needs to rest more and make sure he takes his medicines after having a full meal consisting of a balance diet". The male voice continued.
'A full meal consisting of a full meal?' He thought to himself. Was that man kidding?
Wasn't that man aware of his slavery situation? Oh, but how would he know? The outside world was never aware of went behind close doors and even if it came to be known, a few people would act while the rest would turn away and pretend they never saw nor knew anything at all.
Mrs Rubis was very good when it came down to hiding things and pretending. The saying that goes, 'pretenders are worse than murderers' was not wrong.
Mrs Rubis was worse than a murderer, he was a witness and a victim of her wildness and yet, he said not a single word about it... Who would even believe him if he said about it? No one! For Mrs Rubis was a saint before the eyes of other people.
He opened his eyes slowly as the blurry figures in front of him cleared out so he could be able to sort out who they were.
It was a man shaven, caramel skinned man in a white coat, obviously the man was a doctor by the way the stethoscope was hanging around his neck.
Wait, was he in hospital? How? Was that even possible with Mrs Rubis?
The woman had a heart of stone and would never spend even a buck on his medical bills.
"Okay doctor, thank you so much". Another male voice replied which made him turn his head to see the person.
Oh, no wonder they had brought him to the hospital. Mr Rubis, was back!
Mr Rubis of course was the husband to Mrs Rubis and the father to his bully and the gentle little girl, Riska.
Mr Rubis worked overseas and only came back home occasionally. He never stayed for too long though but he was different from his wife.
Korna was sure that Riska took after her father while his bully took after Mrs Rubis.
He averted his gaze on the woman standing beside Mr Rubis. Her hair was styled differently than it's normal. She was in a new dress and a new pearl necklace sat on her neck. The layers of makeup on her face were perfectly set well like the normal... It was obvious that she had done all these for her husband. After all, married women tend to make themselves look good for her husband.
To think about it, the woman did not deserve such a kind man like Mr Rubis and the man did not deserve such a vicious woman in his life.
Korna wondered if Mr Rubis also went through a bitter time when he stayed here for a few days. Did Mrs Rubis enslave him too such that Mr Rubis liked to stay overseas rather than home? Was Mr Rubis aware of the way his wife enslaved him and denied him the right to his childhood?
There was no way he was going to get the answer to that. He was in no position to ask such questions anyways.
Mrs Rubis wore a fake face full of concern and worry. Obviously, she never cared about him so how could she be worried and concerned about him?
He didn't quiet hear what the doctor proceeded to say until he saw him leave the room.
"Ah, you're awake?" Mr Rubis asked with a slight smile as he walked towards the bed on which Korna was laying on.
Korna couldn't help but smile back. No one ever smiled at him apart from Riska who he rarely saw due to the house chores he had to do every day.
Mr Rubis ran his fingers through his hair, the same smile still on his face. Korna wondered, wasn't the man disgusted by not only looking at him but also touching his hair?
It felt good coming into physical contact with someone who did not look down on him. If only this moment could last longer, but too bad, it couldn't.
