Our meeting was like a coincidence. He had sent me a friend request on WeChat and that's how we started getting along. At first, I used to think of him as a guy who's too weird to trust. He had a good face, then why would he talk with me right? But he kept talking with me no matter what. And as days went by l couldn't stop replying to his messages. Like that a decade passed by, and talking with him was my daily habit. I thought I would outgrow this, but not things went as exactly as I had thought they would. He used to comment on every picture of mine.
I used to turn him down whenever he would want to go on a date with me because of his stalking nature. The day before when I was given the offer of the date, I was at home doing my office work, when the door of my room opened by itself. My dad came inside and sat down on my bed with grief. When I went to ask him why he was down, he explained about the date and then I agreed because of him begging so much. But who knew this was waiting for me.
"Never did in my life, did I thought, that l would meet Karl today. Ugh, this is the....what should I say? Good or bad day? I am confused myself."
"What's wrong with you? Why aren't you shaking my hand?" asked Karl reaching out his hand to her, giving a puzzled face back. Jane sighs and slapped his hand away frowning in response.
"Listen, I am not here chitchat with you-happily. I came to tell you that, l am not interested in a marriage of some sort. So, this matchmaking is over. That's it." Karl was taken aback by her statement. He went silent. Jane got up from her seat and stood in front of him. "Tomorrow? It's a good day. I think it's one of the best days to be able to begin our life as a married couple. I'll make the arrangements by today, and send the invitation to your house. Make sure to arrive at the venue in time, after that the make-up artists and stylists will dress you up nicely. Send in your measurements to me by the evening. The wedding will be between me and your family, so no need to be nervous, okay?".
"The contract will be signed after the wedding when no one will be present, I'll make sure your parents don't find out about it also. How does that sound?". She was becoming surprised minute by minute by hearing the plans that he made. It left her astonished.
"Hey," he lifted her face by her chin, making her look straight into her eyes. "What are your views on my plans? Do you like it?". "Yes, we need to get married! And as soon as possible. That's the reason why I called for this matchmaking in the first place."
"M-married? What? With this guy?". She felt dizzy hearing that. She went silent, and he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Jane, Anything wrong? Why aren't you talking?".
"There's no way I can get married to someone like you. Cause I Don't believe in love and marriage in the first place," she replied getting up from her seat. "Go find someone else better for you." "And that is the reason why we should get married in the first place," he replied with a plain face. He pushed aside his chair and got up moving over to her side. She backed away in response until her back hits the hall. I believe your dad already briefed you on your family situation at the moment, saving them depends on your corporation.
He rested his one hand at her sides and one on his pockets. "We have similar views, that's why we should get married as fast as possible."
"S-similar? How?" she stuttered, able to feel his breath on her skin.
"You don't believe in love, Nor do I believe that something like love exists in this world. All the thing that you need in this world is money and fame. That's all I believe. As we both have similar views, I want to marry you. Will, you marry me?".
Jane's mind went blank but at the same time, his words were echoing in her ears. She heaved a deep sigh, crossing her arms in front of her chest giving a sharp gaze back to him.
"Do you mind getting into details on why you want to marry now?". A teasing smile on his lips.
"Quite cautious aren't you? Noticing things so quickly."
"Yes, when l'm dealing with someone like you. I have to be somewhat cautious, won't I?"."Right."
After that, they both sit down and he begins to explain why he wants this marriage in the first place.
"My family is rich, everyone is a billionaire
and millionaire. My grandma and my parents want me to get settled as my grandma's health is declining and she would like an heir very soon. And that's where you come in Miss Jane." "To fulfill my grandma's wish of seeing the heir, I want to get married and take over my dad's company which is worth hundreds of billions. Will, you help me by getting married and giving me a child?". "And it won't be for free don't worry. We will be under a contract for two years. After this, we will go our ways and be free from each other. I'll give you enough compensation, any amount you want. Do you agree to this?".
"From what I know you don't believe in love also, so we will be able to live happily in our married life even without getting in the way of each other and loving each other.
Doesn't this sound like a great deal?" a whimsical smile appeared on his face after his statement.
Jane stared at her hands and looked in the other direction trying to comprehend the meanings behind his words, but she came to a halt every time she did.
"Listen," she stared at him with apologetic eyes.
"Marriage is not in my head at the moment. So please excuse me. I can't tolerate this any longer. You need help I understand, but I don't want to ruin my life by marrying just for my father's company sake only. I don't need your money, just leave me alone." "So, excuse me, I can't help you."
Alfred didn't reply, instead, he took out his phone and dialed a number. "Hello, this is me. Yes, I need you to do something for me. And as much fast as possible." "Alright, make the White groups go bankrupt immediately, and it's my request. No need to think about the reason." "Give me the info of Jane's dad creditor,I need to inform him of their new location, lastly , make them disappear entirely.
Jane's face went pale, and she walked over to his side, pulling him by the hand.
"By the white groups, are you referring to my Dad's company? You are going to make it bankrupt. And why is that?" she yelled.
