Julliet was in the hospital for two days. Even though the doctor said that she should be observed for another two days, she decided to discharge herself after looking at her medical bill.
Although her salary from the King Club wasn't very low, Julliet nevertheless didn't have much left after deducting her basic expenses. Besides, she still had to save up in case of emergencies.
Julliet didn't really think much about money in the past. However, after getting sick and incurring a considerable cost this time around, she realized just how valuable money was.
Julliet returned to her room in the staff dormitory to find that her three roommates were out. She couldn't help but feel slightly confused at this. After all, it wasn't the time to change shifts. She had no idea where they could've gone.
She didn't know if it was because she had a slight fever, but Julliet felt a little dizzy after changing her clothes. She was swaying so much that she had to hold onto a locker for support.
Just then, Julliet heard a pair of footsteps sounding by her ear. Before she could comprehend who was approaching her, she felt herself being shoved back. She groaned in pain when her back hit the desk behind.
Ivory hadn't expected Paige to do that the moment that she walked through the door. She immediately rushed over to help the pale and hurt Julliet. She then growled, "Paige, what do you think you're doing? Julliet, are you okay?"
Julliet shook her head, still slightly disoriented by what had just happened. She stuttered. "I...I'm okay..."
"You murderer! How dare you touch my locker! Are you trying to pull something funny when we're not around, hmm?!"
"I..." At that moment, Julliet realized that the incident that day had caused a huge commotion. Word had spread like a wildfire and the whole clubhouse now knew about her imprisonment.
Julliet hung her head in shame as she muttered quietly, "I was just feeling dizzy and needed something to hold onto. You don't need to worry. I wasn't trying to pull anything funny."
"How can I believe a murderer like you? Ugh, what if I go to sleep one day and die the next. I can't believe that I'm living under the same roof as a murderer!"
"Don't say that, we've been living together for half a month and you're still alive and well."
Ivory shot Paige a glare before turning to Julliet. She couldn't help but feel worried when she realized just how pale Julliet looked. She touched her forehead as she asked in concern, "You were just discharged from the hospital, right? Why didn't you stay for a few more days? You don't look well..."
"It's just a cold...it's no big deal..."
Paige spat in disgust as she checked her locker one more time. She then slammed the door and roared, "I'm telling my supervisor right now that I want to change rooms. I can't bear to stay in this room any longer. It's disgusting to think that I've been living with a murderer all this while."
Ivory looked at Paige's back and said in distain, "She thinks that she's so high and mighty, yet, here she is, working at this clubhouse! Julliet, please, don't take her words to heart. Don't mind her, alright?"
Julliet couldn't help but feel touched that Ivory was staying by her side and sticking up for her. She smiled gratefully and warmly, "Thank you so much, Ivory."
Thank you for making me feel that this world isn't such a bad place after all.
Not long after, there was a knock on the door. Ivory opened the door and was surprised to see who it was standing there.
"Oh, Miss Victoria, it's you."
Victoria did not say anything in reply. Instead, she started glancing Julliet, who was seated up the bedside, up and down, as though she was scrutinizing her.
This was the second time she saw Julliet. However, this time, it was under completely different circumstances.
Victoria always did things swiftly and decisively. After some contemplation, she pointed at Julliet and said to her, "You, come with me."
The first time that Julliet saw Victoria was two years ago. That time she didn't know that Xaden was a major shareholder of the King Club. She'd only put her best foot forward to get a membership card because she heard that he was connected to Victoria, who managed the club.
At that time, she'd only briefly glanced at Victoria and didn't take a good and close look at her.
When Julliet was forced to work in the King Club half a month ago, the person who had arranged her work for her was her deputy manager and not Victoria. So she'd never seen her until now.
Julliet couldn't help but feel captivated and charmed by the elegant and sophisticated looking woman standing in front of her. She looked formidable and classy.
Julliet couldn't help but think that it was no wonder she was able to manage such a large clubhouse.
"Your roommate is making a fuss over wanting to change rooms," Victoria glanced Julliet up and down as she rose a brow, "I think that you know about this. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
"No. She wants to move out because of me. I'm willing to move out of here."
