Chapter 5 Collection

5. Soraya🍒

I was enjoying my morning breakfast peacefully when I decided to stroll on social media, only to see how my dear ex-fiance treated my ex-backstabbing best friend with romantic gestures, giving her flowers, jewelry, and a car. I didn't know he had that side of him. In our five years together, he has never given me a gift I didn't pay for.

Taking a bite of my bacon, I watch the receipt notifications on my phone. It's funny how all those romantic gestures are being paid for with my money. With a smile, I finish my breakfast, wash the plates, and go to get a nice, long thirty-minute bath.

With that done, I dressed in my spaghetti strap green dress and curled my long black hair that reached my waist. It's something that Japer didn't like; he always wanted my hair to be straight or in a ponytail. At the time, I went along with what he wanted cause I loved the man. I would do anything to make him happy. " Girl, you were brainwashed." im glad that Im seeing things clearer now.

Grabbing my sunglasses from the dresser, I put them on and left the house. I enjoyed this freedom and happiness in my car, with the windows down and the radio playing some country song. In less than an hour, I pulled into the gated villa I had gifted Jasper's mother and sister as a wedding gift.

Now that we are not getting married, I think it's only fair that the gifts be returned to their rightful owner. Walking in, the place was quiet. I looked around and saw how they had been treating the place, and to my surprise, it was spotless. I went to the fridge and saw that they had it was filled with name-brand wines. Gripping a bottle, I poured myself a sizeable cup. Don't judge; it's five o'clock somewhere.

I sat in one of the high chairs, waiting for that one text I know is about to change some lives. " Soraya, you are bad," I smiled to myself.

As I finished the last drop of my wine, I got the text and went outside to open the door for the movers. " I want everything packed and ready to go," I told them. Even if I have to give everything to charity, I'll do it because I won't leave anything behind today.

I poured myself another glass of wine just for fun since I know Jasper and his family are on their way here. When I kick him and Joy out, that's where they came to stay. I don't care for them, but im tired of the freeloaders thinking they could disrespect me while living in my house, eating my food, and using my money. Hell no, this ends today.

Just thirty minutes into the moving, I hear the door opening, show time!

" What the hell is going on?" Jasper's mother waltzes into the house with a snarl when her eyes land on me on the couch.

" YOU!" she pointed in my direction.

" Soraya? What are you doing?" Jasper asked, looking confused all of a sudden.

Twirling the glass in my hand, brought it to my nose. " What does it look like I'm doing?"

" Soraya, I knew you were jealous, but you don't have to go that far to get Jasper's attention." Joy gave me one of those fake smiles. " He doesn't want you anymore."

I couldn't help the laugh that escapes me, " Oh Lord, oh im hurt, so hurt that he doesn't want me anymore." I pretended to cry, and those suckers bought it. What did I ever see in the man? Guess what they say is true when you're young, you do stupid things along the way, well now I've grown.

Getting on my feet, I marched up to her and said, " I don't make it an hobby to pick up the trash that I throw away." Closing the distance between us, "You're the one who likes to pick up my trash."

I hit a nerve with my words, she raised her hand to slap me, I grabbed it on time and slapped her instead.

Jasper rescued her by pushing me back and shielding her from me.

Laughing, " Lovely couple," I mumble under my breath.

" Soraya, the house was a gift. How could you take it back? You have your own place," Jasper's sister argues while giving me her puppy eyes, a look she used on me before to get me to buy her a car. Yesterday I was dumb, today I'm wiser; those tricks don't work on me anymore.

Slapping my hand on the counter, I said, " You are right." Pointing my finger at her, I said, "You are also wrong. It was a wedding gift. Now the wedding is off. im taking it back."

Furious Jasper spat out, " Have you no shame?!"

Sucking my teeth at them, " Have you no shame? You cheated on me, now you want me to take care of you and your family, still" Poking him in the chest. " What kind of a man does that?"

Snapping my finger I say "That's right you're not a man but a boy playing dress up" I mocked him.

"It was your right to take care of my family and me since you wanted to marry me," The shameless me dared to say, closing the distance between us " Dont think I don't know what you're trying to do?"

" Right, right. I did accept all the responsibility when you were my fiancé, but now you're nothing but a scumbag. Why should I waste my money on you?" I ask him.

With one hand over her heart for dramatic effect, his mother goes, " Y-you useless girl, you lucky my son wanted to marry you, now you want to take the house, over my dead body." She wheels her chair close to me.

Clapping my hands, " That could be arranged." Two security guards came out of the kitchen and stood behind her.

With perfect timing, one of the movers came into the room and asked, " Miss, everything is ready. Is there anything else?"

Pointing at his mother's chair, I said, " Grab this, too, and the cane I bought them."

" No, no, no one is taking my chair or cane, " His mother started to protest as the security picked her up and put her ass on the floor while she was still kicking her feet.

Jasper was looking at me with shock and disgust on his face.

" What?" I ask them innocently, " You want them or the house back?" Crossing my arms, I say, "Buy them from me."

" Are you out of your mind? Soraya, im the only one giving you the time of day, no man wants a clingy woman." He says coldly, " You can think im going to get back with you after playing this stunt?"

Laughing, "Keep your money; you might need it for a Doctor." Slapping him on the shoulder, " Preferably a psychiatrist."

Grabbing my bag from the counter, I walked out of the house leaving them arguing. Just as I was getting in my car, I saw they had come to pick up the car that I bought for his sister. What a perfect timing! Driving away from the house, I watched as Jasper and his family got smaller and smaller in my rearview mirror until they were gone.

That's exactly how I plan to make them pay for treating me like dirt while enjoying my house and money. First, I must find a way to get his uncle to let me cancel the wedding. There is no way in this life or the next that I will be Jasper's wife.
